First cup of coffee is cooling. 27° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 35° with clouds. Got more of neighbors woods cleared. Burn pile has been going since Monday. We have been piling more on the pile everyday. Making a cave over where fire was burning. Yesterday evening it finally burnt a hole thru the top. Making a spectacular view from neighbors Living Room.

Back at piling more on fire today.
Only one bird showed up at my feeders for pictures yesterday. Fog must keep them roosting someplace.

Good morning, low and high 23°F. Wind NW 13 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

Not much on the books for today. Salt supposed to be coming for the water softener, if it comes early enough then I will go to North Bay. If not then NB will wait until next year.
I have a maintenance contract with Culligan, I pay monthly and they supply the salt and if anything goes 'wrong' with the softener they fix it free.
We ran out of salt in October, I ordered it and no response, phoned them and no answer. I called the North Bay branch in early November and they gave me today as the day they would deliver. We will see.

Have a safe day all

46 outside this AM, heading to mid 50's. No rain here, just enough to be confused with dew on the ground. Very dry and too warm for this time of year. I managed to look at another tree yesterday for the wood stove. It sits on what was a really wet part of the back property. I walked right up to it. No discernable water or soft ground in sight. Never seen that condition before in over the decade we have been here. Guess it is a good time to cut it up and haul it out.

Little progress on the last shower repairs. Maybe today is the day. Looks like I have run out of time, this year. LOL.

Managed to get out and do some shopping yesterday. Picked up parts at HD for various projects. Took forever to find what I needed, actually used my phone to locate parts. No service help in sight. Then stopped by favorite eatery that had a "kitchen staff wanted" sign up. Should have been a warning sign. Wow. What a bust the meal was. Some say America runs off these types of jobs. With all the help wanted signs around, looks like it is time to redefine the services industries. Yeah, all that from a bad meal and missing parts.

Anyway, on a lighter note, the end of the year is upon us!

Let me be among the first to wish the TBN community - health, happiness and prosperity in the coming New Year.

We made up for the poor meal the previous evening by making Navajo tacos for dinner last night. I cooked up four pounds of taco meat (we didn't use it all ) and The Wife made some fry bread. Delicious. It was the oldest stepson's first time eating them, and he seemed to enjoy it. For those who don't know, a Navajo taco is essentially a loaded tostada made on Native American fry bread instead of a fried tortilla. We first encountered them while eating at the Cameron Trading Post in Cameron AZ during our 2011 trip to the Grand Canyon.
Sounds good.

Funny how I can also remember where I was when I ate a Najavo taco for the first time...we left the north rim of the Grand Canyon and were heading up to Moab...stopped in Bluff, UT and ate at the Twin Rocks Cafe...delicious...was in 2013.

50 cloudy moist after a hard rain last night...going to 57.

Get well, Roy!

Sorry about your issue, Buppies...sounds like a big job.

B7510, real nice tractor...like that BH...really got excited about how nice your garage looks, but then realized it's probably the dealer.

BEF, glad you got back on the road and got home okay...better get over to Costco and get the new ones on soon.

After making the dump run and hike yesterday, decided to declare a Tex-Mex day rather than a rest day...since my son gave me a gift card to our favorite restaurant...was delicious...then went to Wegman's to walk it off, and stock up on salad items, since we used all ours up when we had company. Wife made a great salad for dinner. Rip, riding through Short Pump saw a lot of help wanted signs, especially at restaurants.

Good Morning
It’s 41 and might make 50 today, but it will be another dreary day with rain likely, but only minor accumulation. Yesterday we got .18” and the Tempest and Davis were in agreement. It seems like it is in heavy rain when the Tempest is unreliable.

Yesterday I had breakfast with my retired lawyer turned professor friend, and lunch with another old friend that I haven’t seen in several years. After lunch it was chore time, moving hay from the hay shed to the barn and other chores. Sure was a sloppy mess out there. We need a good freeze so I can get some tractor work done.
Today, the Christmas tree gets added to the brush pile, then I want to make a simple tool to lift the trash cans onto the brackets on the Carryall. I’m thinking a simple rocker lever like is used to lift drywall off the floor, but with a bit more lift. The final design will hinge on what materials I have laying around.

The new range I put in the kitchen a few years ago has an air fry function, but we have only used it a few times. I think I ought to revisit it after reading the comments here.
