Poured coffee into new insulated coffee cup. 30° with snow this morning. Heading to 41° with rain in PM. Good relaxing day yesterday. Need to replace water filters for whole house today. RO system needs new filters also. Have some LED's to install under window sills on back porch. Not sure how far I will get with that. But will get material layed out.
Fluffed up to beat the cold.

Mostly, well it seemed like 5 hours. Checked the total time for all 7 calls. 4 hours and 22 minutes.

Bird, when we traveled. I like eating out on the patio for christmas in south TX.

David, enjoy the view of flail mowed field. Then it's time to start over again.

Thomas, have a good day at PT job.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

txdon said, "Is anyone finding Covid test hard to find? Our Walgreens sold out."

We have Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance and awhile back they sent each of us two (unsolicited) "COVID-19 Test Home Collection Kit" by Everlywell. Then more recently they sent us two "At Home COVID-19 Test" kits by BD Veritor. So we have 4 of each and haven't opened any of them; just not curious enough I guess, and since we've both had 3 Moderna shots, don't think we have anything to worry about. Or maybe it's just that we're so old we don't expect to live much longer anyway. :ROFLMAO:

txdon said, " I just went with water with my oatmeal this morning because the bean milk just looked like bean juice."

I certainly agree with the idea of trying to go as healthy as possible . . . BUT . . . there are some things I just ain't gonna do and one of them is to use that so-called skimmed milk. We used to call what was left after the milk ran through the separator "Blue John" and it wasn't fit for anything except the hogs. I only buy 100% milk, but we really just don't use much anymore.

I guess I may have acted too quickly, but I went ahead yesterday morning and took down and stored the few outside Christmas lights while we're having this exceptionally warm weather, so I won't have to do that out in the cold later. And I was a bit surprised when Margaret started putting away all the indoor Christmas decorations, and I think she got that all done before she went to bed last night. We still have 63 degrees this morning, going for a high of a sunny 78; really strange weather for this time of year.

good morning all
going to be a messy day, system coming in from West pushing snow ahead of it
We will get flurries and sleet today but temps in high 30's and it all turns to rain later today.
I'm off to dealer this morning to get a turn signal bulb replaced, and will get a spare while I'm at it.
I would normally change this myself but they have hidden the whole headlight/turn signal assembly behind a layer of
plastic covers in the engine compt, the snaps for which were already mostly broken off. I just have to look at those things and they break so
I'll leave this up to them. And I'm going to ask them if anyone claims the 10MM wrench I will take with me.

This afternoon I meet a contractor about snow plowing at the church.

my brother gave me an extra Covid test kit Saturday; none in local drugstores. I ordered two online, due in mid January. Maybe.

Buppies, keep having fun down there, sounds wonderful walking the beach.

40 outside right now. Heading to mid 40's.

Still recovering from a Christmas Eve dramatic event with horses. One had colic during the evening. Needed a vet call. Seems to be OK this AM.

Need a few days to recover from that, family trying to get together before the New Year. Unfortunate some have come down with Covid, so all plans are off for them.

Other than the above, a great weekend with excellent weather which reinforced a better attitude for unfolding current events. Plumbing issues took the weekend off. Need to address some of them today.

Hope all have a good day. 2022 cannot come fast enough.

Be safe.

38 going to 49. Pretty pink and purple sunrise. Birds and chipmunks out early this morning.

Buppies, have a safe trip.

Don, you're a good sport on the oak milk...and I guess calling any of it milk is easier than saying "non-dairy beverage." Bird, I don't drink a lot of milk, but it's always skim. We used to milk our goats, which has an even higher fat content than cow's milk. It was for our youngest son, who had a milk allergy when he was young. Over a couple of years we milked two different goats, Nubian and Oberhasli...each tasted different.

Mostly, lots of 'em left.

My mom texted me last night that my sister and her husband tested positive yesterday (fully vaxxed)...that's where my 90 YO mom (fully vaxxed) was all day on Christmas Day, as well as my unvaxxed niece's family. Not good news. I'll call her today and learn more.

We had another 72F day so, played outdoor games yesterday.

Good Morning
It’s 30 degrees and going to 35 with a rain/snow mix by noon.
Nice red sunrise this morning.

Yesterday was a pretty lazy day, big event was grandson’s first ride in the little plane with his father. It was just about 24 years ago that I sent his father out to solo that same plane at the same airport.
It appears that he shares the interest in aviation that his father and I have, that my other son and daughter lack.

Not much scheduled for today, tomorrow I’ve got a trip to Palm Beach that will kill the day, but that’s only the second trip this month that I have had to fly, so it’s a welcome diversion from the lack of tractor chores or snow.

Well, it is the season for the “common cold” I believe. And, from what I read and hear the new Omicron variant is almost exactly the same as the common cold. So, maybe the county health officials just don’t see it as that big of a deal.
The numbers of new cases are now useless with omicron Covid-19. The number that is important is hospitalizations and that number should be the one dictating mandates. Some say that the Omicron is exactly what the pandemic needs to end, a mild covid which has antibodies to protect against severe variants.

34° and overcast. Low was 27°. Only going to 38°

Cat nestled in front of the stove.

Neat airplane pics.

Good morning! 35 now, 58 later, so they predict. Looks like the rain is past us. Was raining hard earlier.

Worked on the trailer yesterday. It was really pleasant outside. Wife had the birds out and they were enjoying the weather. The guineas were working it for treats.

She made ham and bean soup for dinner, was really good.

Not sure what I will get into today. New glasses are in so will probably pick those up, get some odds and ends at either Loweks or Menards.

Hope everyone’s healing is going good

Stay safe out there!

I have always felt that the concern about new cases was useless. First, because there never seemed to be any reliable reporting.

There seems to be a motivation from some to perpetuate the hysteria about Covid. What is the survival rate, still about 99.9%?

Good morning! 66˚F, cloudy heading to the mid 70s. The Oak milk turned out better than th bean milk and will be used on my oats this morning. The ingredients were just oats and dates. Next time I'll use the recipe that also calls for raisins, cinnamon and vanilla.

I'm in the flex machine and will call and see when my next PT will be. I only get two weeks of home PT and the last time they were here was last Wednesday. The holidays are messing with my frequency, but I do them every day so I don't fall behind, but the human push helps the intensity at which I do them.

I put myself on the inactive list for two months on the trail maintenance list. So PT will be my only job. Had a good sleep last night probably because I did not cut my pain meds in half like the night before. I'll still take half dose during the day, but getting off of them will be the next milestone.

Good Morning!!!! 41F @ 5:15AM. Rain showers this morning with some sunshine during the afternoon hours. High 48F. S winds shifting to NW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 40%.
In spite of the forecast, we got only 0.02" of rain yesterday, and only another 0.02" overnight. Lots of wind yesterday and overnight, though.

That wind was blowing briskly yesterday morning when I was up on the 22' extension ladder slipping insulation tubes onto the feed line on the big tank up the hill. It was so cold that the adhesive on the seam wasn't sticking, and some of the zip ties I used instead were breaking while being tightened. The result wasn't an example of my best work, but it'll get the job done. While I was up there, I checked the level of water in the tank, and it was down farther than it should be. I reset the pump controller, and it ran for more than few hours trying to catch up. All the rain we've had over the past month has done wonders for the water table! 👍

When I went to put out some mail, the gate wouldn't open, and on a hunch I brought the battery down for a charge, thinking that all the cloudy weather had hampered the solar charger. But it was back up to full charge in less than an hour, and the gate was back to normal after it was re-installed. Another reset did the job, but I have no idea why.

Then I noticed strange gurgling sounds coming from under the side-by-side, and found it was very low on coolant. It still has a leak somewhere, but I didn't have time to mess with it yesterday morning. So I just topped it up with straight antifreeze to get it through this coming cold spell.

I ran a couple tests on the troubled Ethernet cable and concluded there was a break somewhere. I ran a new cable, this time heavy duty direct burial stuff, and used the old line to pull it up into the attic. Lots of trips up and down the ladder to untangle it, but eventually got it all the way across the house. That's when I found the break in the old line, where it went into the wall through a 1" hole in the 2x4 header in the attic. It looked like it was abraded or chewed through, and from the mouse turds up there, I'm guessing the latter. There was another line using the same hole, and it had enough slack I was able to pull enough up out of the wall and use it to get the new line out the bottom of the wall. For once both connectors worked the first time, and the network on that end of the house was back up.

Drained the sprinkler lines that ran up to the roof, then backed the truck up to the garage and loaded the boxes of firewood in for the trip. Hope we get through it all; those boxes were heavy! Also made reservations for dinner on New Years Eve, bagged up the left over chili stew and got it loaded into the freezer, then gave myself the rest of the night off. Lethal Weapon 4 was not as entertaining as it could of been, so it's no wonder it was the last of the series.

Still have a little more packing and loading to do today, not sure what else I'll get into, other than reloading the firewood dolly. Wanna start the new year off right.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start!

62°F and cloudy with some light spotty fog this morning, steadily dropping through the day. Expecting some rain overnight and into tomorrow, maybe even Wednesday.

And ... just like that, I haven't been on here in a couple of weeks, and now I'm probably hours of reading behind (10 pages, anyway). Hope everyone has been behaving.
