Good Morning
It’s 31 and not going to get to 40 with mostly clear skies. 1/4” rain yesterday and overnight.

Yesterday started with taking my wife for shot into her back to get her some relief. Spent hours on sisyphean paperwork for the FAA, then some shop cleanup and organization. Contractor working on my son’s kitchen project brought me some old 3x12’s to run through the planer to remove the cup to make them suitable for shelves. Put the counterweight and snow blade on the tractor rearranged a few things to make it fit backed in to the shop. If it we ever get a plowable snow, I’m all ready. Just open the door and drive out.
Made chicken pot pie for dinner, and while looking at Drew’s apples on the counter decided to make an apple crisp. Boy did it smell while it was cooking. Pulled out of the oven in time for zoom oddfellows meeting while it cooled off. After the meeting I cut myself a piece and put some vanilla ice cream on it. Thank you Drew!

Today will likely be breakfast with a friend, a BJ run with the wife, a stint at the computer exercising my fingers for the FAA, and then whatever mischief I can find to keep me occupied.

Good morning, cool 43F here, going to 68.

Good pics and information still flows here, like an artesian well. Chicken pot pie sounds good.

David, got to watch out what you get, if you search for Hydroponics....hehe

Drew, nice car.

Topps and Bupps, praying for you two, and for your drs to do a good job.

I forgot to tell you guys, I worked at a place where we made medical implants. We used a very powerful ultrasonic machine to clean the parts post machining. The first hot tank had a solution of sodium hydroxide in it. It got everything off the metal.

Ron, sounds like jealousy to me too. Sorry about the ordeal. Hope the aunt and you can still enjoy yourselves.

Prayers for our team, and our country.

19F and clear @ 07:30, heading up to a high of 32F. Looks like extreme NEO (Lake and Ashtabula Counties) got hit pretty good with snow (>7"), nothing here though.

Calling for a high of 65F by Saturday, highs of 40's and 50's after that.

Very heavy winds later yesterday, to the point that I heard trees come crashing down in the woods several times. Thankfully it didn't sound as though they hit anything.

Have lost a good number of larger trees - quite a few of them ash - over the last 5 or so years. Should help the undergrowth which will be good for the deer.

Got second pair of jack stands taken up to shop the other day, fire in stove did not bank all that well ... was all ashes the next morning when I checked. Gaskets on doors need replaced.

Refilled suet feeder outside kitchen window last evening while I was doing the dishes as it was empty. I'm guessing other feeders will need refilled today.

Made another sheet cake the other day which was appreciated ... ;)

Probably going to work some more on barn owl nest box and small bird roost box today and see if I can't get those a little closer to completion.

More clean up in basement and kitchen.

Need to shred paperwork which is starting to pile up again.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Good Morning!!!! 45F @ 5:00AM. Rain showers early with bright sunshine by the afternoon. High 59F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 40%.
More showers Wednesday night into Thursday, then another four inches coming in between next Sunday-Wednesday. 👍

That's the thing about wood piles, Mike. When you start, it doesn't look like progress, but as the pile dwindles, you start worrying if you're gonna have enough to get you through the next winter...

How do birds keep their feet warm in weather like that, Ron?

I learned the same lesson, the hard way, Drew. Doctors are just like plumbers, mechanics, lawyers, and even grocery store clerks: Most are excellent, dedicated people who somehow manage to do their best. But unfortunately, there are always a few bad apples. The difference with doctors is it's really difficult to research backgrounds because the AMA has made it difficult to access that kind of info. It's not like you can get an Amazon review for an orthopedic surgeon, or look them up on Angie's List. But it should be that simple.

Yesterday was very foggy all day, with a high of only 47F. Eric would have felt right at home! It was cold in the house when I got up. For a lot of you, 66F is pleasantly warm, but when temps drop below 68F inside, I fire up the wood stove. So that's what I did, then did some reading sitting by it while it took the chill off. House stayed above 70F through the night, but with the overcast this morning, I think I'll fire off the stove again to get a warm start to the day. Then out to the garage for more welding and cutting. Almost done with the first side of the bag mount.

Don garden looks real good, all that warm weather we have been having. Can you put greenhouse top over your garden?
Yes we can put a green house on top of the garden and about 50 of the gardens have a PVC frame with a frost cover. My winter vegetables can tolerate cold temps so I won't cover my garden. I'll get a pic of the covers next time I'm out there.

Good morning! Only had .05" of rain from this 24 hour cold front. 37˚F north wind but it will start to come from the South and our temps will be heading to the mid 60s with partly cloudy skies.

A woman North of Houston, in her 40s, who was fully vaccinated has tested positive for the Omicron variant of COVID-19. She has not traveled out of the country so that means there are probably more cases in Texas. She has not been hospitalized.

Morning, 34 and only one way to go.
Wind last night blew neighbors tree across road, ran to help but he was already done. He has a nice grapple.

Kids school is virtual today due to threats made by some student. This is so out of hand.

Randy-hope this is just a remove and move on for the Dr. report

David - that is a lot of rain-hope all is well

Wife made apple pie with a pecan crumble topping-came out great.

Dr.s almost killed my wife a few times. Won't get into details, but one asked me if I had medical training after everyone in the room panicked except me, when I started coordinating the nurses and got a Dr. up there who knew what he was doing. Took my wife a year to recover from the massive blood loss.

Stay safe and be well,

30 going to 46. Unfortunately, the rain missed us last night, but not the wind. It was stick pick up this morning while out feeding the chipmunks and birds. Brought some of the sticks in as starter to light the woodstove burning again. Was watching 2 deer sneak into the sugar maples and bed down.

Pearl Harbor Remembrance today.

Toppop and Buppies, prayers for healing.

Kyle, I got a good laugh from your post.

RNG, the website for my healthcare insurance does show a 5-star rating system for doctors and providers. I was looking a doctor up this week, and found he had 3 stars, so reconsidering whether to call, even though he came highly recommended.

Speaking of healthcare insurance, I spent a couple of hours online yesterday double checking the coverage I have and that my wife has...was thinking of changing one part of my wife's when I learned how hard it is to get out of a plan. Was frustrating...at least today is a deadline to change Medicare choices...no more seeing Joe Namath, Jimmie J, Captain Kirk, Joe Montana, etc on TV non-stop.

Good morning! 22° now, 31° later, maybe? Big change from yesterday morning when it was around 53°.

Quiet day at work yesterday, didn't do much at home last evening. Was kind of tired for some reason. Likely not sleeping good the night before had a lot to do with it.

Tonight there is a "Christmas Social Gathering" for work at the local brewery. We are going since this will be the last time for one of these in my career.

What I witnessed last year with the type of care from doctors and nurses is typical in all aspects of businesses and services that require people. You get good ones and you get bad ones. "Hopefully" when it comes to medical, the good one outweigh the bad ones!

I also witnessed some very overworked and stressed people. With the exception of 1 doctor & 1 nurse's aide, I can't really say anything negative about any of them due to the stress they were under with long hours and too much workload. The 2 exceptions...well I have already said what I am going to about the doctor, the nurse's aide is coming soon. I will save it.

Last year today was interesting.....

I had an awesome night's sleep. One of those sleeps that was so deep, I was disoriented when I woke up. I had to think about where I was located. Took a while. Fortunately, I was awake on my own and they didn't have to wake me up for the blood draw or the ****** Youth visit.

I thought it was odd I had slept most of the night, said something to the night shift nurse on her final visit, she had decided I was sleeping so soundly, they would do what they could for a vitals check and not wake me up. She felt the sleep was more important. Of course I had multiple wires hooked to me with a wireless monitor along with a monitor sitting in the window sill I could see with my heart rate & BOL displayed at all times.

The 2 Dr. Deb's were in early. It was my lucky day, I was going to get a barium test of my GI tract. They wanted a complete scan to see the condition and to better isolate the blockage. So I got a whole new group of ****** Youth in my room who did a complete GI tract X-ray, then filled me with barium, using the NG tube. This was so much fun I hope I NEVER have to do this again, ever. I felt like an inflated balloon. I was amazed how much of that stuff they injected into me through the NG tube. Seemed like it was never ending. And neither were the X-Rays. I got rolled around frequently in bed for that pleasure.

When they were done, Kandi was less than impressed. The room was trashed, I was like an overinflated balloon, and it was the nurse's issue to pump all of the barium out of me using the NG tube. I was also having issues with my IV needle from all the excitement of getting rolled around in the bed too much. Keeping an IV in me would become more of an issue over time.

Before the day was over, I saved them some work pumping all of the barium out. I threw up. I had barium and other liquids everywhere. And I felt like a deflated balloon when it was over.

But they did find the exact location of the blockage. I had some scar tissue on my large intestine where my appendix was removed.

Fun times.

Everyone stay safe out there!

33 now, after a low of 30, was 51 at midnight. We missed all the rain and snow showers, may have gotten a few drops. Tomorrow is predicted to be 41, Saturday 71.
I’m still having intermittent pain in my leg, I’m going to call the doctor today and see if they have a clue what’s next.
David, that’s a lot of rain, been watching videos of it, wow!
Not much going on today unless I get better motivated.
