Good evening all. trace of rain last night. 46F for the start, windy, and clear. Windy most of the day, sky mostly clear and high temp was 50F, and low temp forecast is 34F. One day in 80's next day high is 53F, and no rain, ugh. Took trash out then worked on trimming the hedges. One more set to trim, need to pick up leaves, and work on wood pile as well. Bike ride and nap in afternoon and grilled brats for dinner. Not happy with Royal Oak briquette, even today burning too hot. Was the only mesquite briquette available. will get some mesquite chips next time.
Covid update: Cooke 4227 confirmed cases, 28 active cases, Montague 2705 confirmed cases, 32 active cases, Grayson, 16,593 confirmed cases, 200 active cases. Cooke 1, Montague 6, Grayson 27, new cases.

Hi all. Busy beyond belief and little time to peruse or scribe. Tiling going well, Kitchen going well. LOVE the granite counter top. Dishwasher back in place but using a extension cord as we haven't got an electrician yet. I installed the new sink and plumbing today in between two town trips. Also went and looked at new zero turn mowers but none available till January. Decided on Kubota. Not cheap though.
still moving gear to the barn.
Pics when I get some relax time.

good morning all
chilly 31 out now going up to 45 in mostly sunny day. .15 inches of rain last night and lots of wind.
Cold front definitely blew out all that nice warm air we had yesterday; 61 being a nice memory.

off early to pick up friend and drive to Longwood Gardens West of Philadelphia. About an hour and a half drive through
a very congested area but I'm sure it will be worth it. Was going to take old Route 1 for the scenic tour but website warned of bad traffic
and construction on that road so going to use Rt 202.
Not sure if I'm going to rent an electric scooter; worried about holding friend back since I can't walk for hours on end.
We have restaurant reservations there for lunch, hope to stop at an Amish market on way home and that will surely tucker me out.
should have lots of pics by end of day.

Hawaiian rains making headlines this morning, up to two feet of rain predicted in some areas.
David, go check for drips.

Good morning, low 1 and high to 10°F. Wind WNW 2 mph. Sunny! A tad cool. Cold to me is when the temps hit -40F.

The snow I scraped off yesterday had about 1/8" of crust on top, so I would hazard a guess that was our freezing rain. More of the same next Saturday says the long range forecast.
Sun up is at 7:45 this morning, so I will be outside firing up the tractor at 7:30 A.M.

After plowing comes a dump run and then into town.

Have a safe day all

Rich's saga of fighting for his life with Covid is inspiring. And worrisome.
Truly reinforces importance of being your own health advocate and not just accepting everything a doc tells you.
I have had genuine malpractice performed on me twice, both dealing with skin cancer surgery, once where the doc was on drugs.
Twice I had surgeons drop out of their practice for medical reasons. Strange and unusual I'm sure, but taught me a big lesson.
All those years I had to advocate for my wife, once barging through no admittance doors in recovery when I could hear my wife scream in pain behind those doors.
Head of Anesthesia of Cleveland Clinic came up next day to her room to apologize. Cleveland Clinic. One of finest medical places around and they screwed up too.
Question Authority.
great bumper sticker in the 70's, still applies to medical field
Docs are human, make mistakes, and while bright as can be, sometimes miss stuff. Nurses are usually angels visiting the earth. My wife was.

thankfully the internet lets us do a lot of research on our own. I take the medical reports and start Googling all the strange terms and medical acronyms.
Omicron? Isn't that a transformer in one of those kid movies?... ;)

Bill, that's a tad cool for most of us.

32° right now...now going to get any warmer. Probably snow showers too.
Looks like the "Nor'easter" that was predicted last week is going to miss us. I'm a bit sorry about that...

Today is December 7th, Pearl Harbor was attacked 80 years ago today...

Hot coffee is needed this morning. 16° with light snow this morning. Heading to 26° with cloudy skies. Got bird seed moved to barn. Then filled all the feeders. Not much going to happen today. Stay in and keep warm.
Wind kept birds away from feeders. But Blue Jays toughed out.

Rich, talking with my neighbor. Some of the stuff you had to deal with. He had also. His comments about his nurses was like yours. I asked him if they were good looking. He said they all wore mask. They were all good. He remembered all their names. His Dr's had their act together. They learned a lot over the last year.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

30 outside this AM, heading to upper 40's. Quite the change from yesterday. I attempted to split some wood, the wood pile is still winning. Three full loads from the RTV to the wood shed. Doesn't look like I made a dent.

Road trip up to Baltimore. Not much else on the to-do list. Horses got moved, but need some infrastructure re-arranged, Waters, some fence line work, feed bowls.

Had good luck with our Hyundai, got over 300k on it, transmission sensors was the only issue I can recall.

Have a good day all, be safe.

Good morning, the wind is up, making our range cooker push out an almost uncomfortable amount of heat for someone not wishing to smelt iron. Can't really go removing clothing with a delivery due (wouldn't want to scare away the driver :giggle: ), best I let the range go out and fire up the much more controllable wood burner in the living room instead.

Randy/Mostly "Pumpking chunking" is a new term for me, always something new to learn here ! Ours have a less violent non-PG ending - quietly added to the compost heap.

I see Steven Spielberg has a remake of the musical "West Side Story". I've a Blu Ray of the original 1961 flick...great flick, if you're into musicals. Damn, I even saw this in a movie theater when it first came out. I hope the new version isn't too politically kerrect...
Roy, musicals aren't normally my thing but that is a good one. I especially like the Alice Cooper spin off Gutter Cat v The jets, remember first time I heard it, I was hooked within the first 30 seconds.
