Busy at work today. donut at a 2 pm meeting was lunch, lol.
Measuring current draw of an amp as frequency changes. Also Pin vs Pout, ip3 readings.

Home late.
I ordered an LTE camera for the farm the other day on Amazon, then cancelled the order while it was still in the order state, to order same camera with a solar charger. They didnt cancel. First one arrived today, the one I want comes thursday. Now gotta send first one back. Over $200 camera.
Trying to see if I can add to my Verizon shared data account for $20 month, or go with T-Mobile 2GB data only plan for $10 month. I know Verizon works there, checking to see if any family has T-Mobile to know if it works there.
T-Mobile has a 5GB $20 month plan, maybe I should put one in an LTE router and just connect the cameras I already have there.

Wunderground showing low of 43° and it’s 28° out now.

Floods.
Well I am 73 so I'm allowed to be stupid.
I got caught today. I had to go get petrol for the mower at Grantham. 1st ford was ok. Drove slowly as my air cleaner pickup is low in the Honda. No problem. Next ford at Sandy Creek was a bit deeper. Keeping in mind the air cleaner I drove slowly and got through without a problem. Got to Grantham and massive flooding and roads closed. Bugger. Turned around to come home and got to Sandy Creek again. Hmmm looked a bit higher but I just went through OK so I drove slowly and suddenly realised I was driving into the current, not with it as I did before. Bugger. It was deeper and the car snuffed right in the middle. Hmmmm.
So I got out and it was over my knees by now and flowing quicker than 10 minutes ago.
Hung onto the car and pulled the hood and worked my way to the front of the car and removed the air intake from the flooded air cleaner box. Then got back in the car to find it full of water. Bugger. Wound the starter about 20 times and it was trying to fire up. Engine warning light on, muffler full of water. Then a cloud of steam out the back and a few hiccups and managed to crawl out of the water. Car was in limp mode so could only get about 15 kph. Drove a bit and barely got up the hill so when I got to the top I stopped. Car was idling sweet so I took a chance and turned it off. I flicked the key on and off half a dozen times and then started it again. Engine light went off and back to full power again. Drove home with tail between legs and sucked 3 shop vacs full of water out of the floor. It is now parked in the new barn, all doors open and battery disconnected to let it dry out. I should have taken the Ranger wifey says. Yeah..

Poured first cup of coffee. 23° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 40° with cloudy skies. Yesterday ended up being a conserve energy day. Snow is melting enough for weather station to give a rain report. .32" Going to spend the day with my Aunt. May get a little shopping in with her.
Lots of heathy looking critters at my feeders.

Alien, 73 and you have not learned that gas can wait for another day? I have no idea what you going to do when you are my age in 6 years. Glad you made it home safe.

Bakerg, good you found time to check in.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Good morning all.
37 going up to 47 today in sun with rain coming in tonight.

Alien, so sorry you got wet. Was this in your new Mustang?

off fairly early this morning to go visit MIL, age 92, in assisted living in Doylestown. I just found out one of
her best friends, that are still alive..., is moving into her same building. She will be thrilled about that, they used to knit
for years together. Now neither can knit

Driving my brother's M5 today, he went to Florida and dropped off his car for the week. Don't think I'll be holding traffic up at the lights...

Gary, welcome back. Great pics of your JD project. I grew up with a B so your tractor brought smiles.

Headed to Home Depot today with my fat file on Rubbermaid, and will ask for a refund. This should be interesting.

Not the Mustang. Lol. The Honda. Reason I needed petrol was for my ride-on mower which ran out of gas near the road and I wanted to shift it. Too heavy to push.

Not the Mustang. Lol

car is too nice to mess up... ;)

with the electronics on a modern car, water in the car is not your friend.
Shop that detailed my truck put a small ozone generator in cab to kill any microbes, anything actually.
Might help in your wet Honda to prevent mold in all your heat.

Very cool bird. Love the red. Now if it starts to talk to you...

Good morning, low 13 and high 30°F. Wind NNW 5 mph. 60% chance of snow. Tonight another inch.

We got about 3" yesterday while I was in North Bay. I will clear that off today, just turn the BB backwards and scrape off the loose stuff. Now is the time I define my lines and start my piles.

Gary, nice job on the 1/2 scale.

Have a safe day all

25 outside this AM, heading to upper 50's. Like close to 60's.

Friend coming over in a few to help split wood. Should be fun.

Yesterday went well, all heading back to their homes this AM. FIL only blew up at me once, he clogged a toilet.

Such is family drama. I stayed in the kitchens most of the day. That was fine with me.

Alien, good you got the car running again. Daughter had a similar experience, the engine ended up being water locked, lost the car on that one. Glad your safe.

Looking forward to getting outside for the day. Tomorrow looks to be a road trip for me to help someone out on a city job. Not sure if I will drive or do the Metro. Not looking forward to either.

Hope the shed return, goes smoothly...Drew.

Have a great day all, be safe. Get healthy to those ailing.

Good Morning
It’s 38 and likely to hit 45 today with clearing skies.
Yesterday had snow flurries on and off all day with none sticking.

I got all the driveway markers in yesterday, about 75 total. The new tool worked out perfect, no revision required. Cleaned some more calcified aerators and sprayers in the ultrasonic tank, I’m amazed at what you can clean with just distilled water.
Doctor appointment this morning, hope to change the oil in the Kubota later on. Not much else on the table, I’ll wait and see what the day brings.

I’m curious how Drew will make out with his shed. HD has a good reputation about their return policy, and he certainly tried to work to get the parts needed to assemble it. I’m sure that he will let us know how it went.

Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 4:30AM. Sunny. Near record high temperatures. High 69F. Winds light and variable.

Very glad to hear it was the Honda you took swimming, Doug. And hope a good drying out is all it needs. Those parrots are pretty big birds. Do they ever cause you any mischief?

Not sure what to suggest as a lubricant when cutting aluminum, Eric, but I'd go with one specifically recommended for that metal as others have suggested. One thing I would for sure do when working with a hole saw that size is make darn good and sure that the workpiece is fixed very firmly to the table of the drill press. With a piece of wood behind it to protect the table. Don't ask me how I know how much damage a large spinning piece of sheet metal can do if the saw becomes stuck and you lose your grip on it. o_O

Paul's right, Drew: when it comes to quality knives, you get what you pay for. My first Mini Champ came from a small shop on a back street in Salzburg, Austria. Several years later it slipped out of my pocket while I was sitting down and I never saw it again. But I appreciated the smooth opening action of the "blades", how long the cutting edges stayed sharp, and how the pivots never loosened, even when I abused the heck out of them using the screwdrivers. I was very happy when I found the same knife for sale at REI, and have lost and replaced several since. I don't have enough experience with the Coast knife to know how well it compares yet, but good steel isn't cheap, and neither is the labor, especially if it comes from the US of A, which in the case of the Coast it most assuredly does not. But as I mentioned, the one handed action works very well, and as delivered, the blade is quite sharp. Not bad at all for twenty bux.

Decided to pop into town yesterday and pickup the parts needed to finish up with the transmission. Got a blood draw done as well, and was asked for the first time what were my pronouns. "None" was my answer. I was even more surprised they asked for my gender, this in a face-to-face interaction! No wonder costs are going up when people are forced to waste time on such drivel.

Came home to a full parcel box, so I'll be out this morning "fertilizing" the decomposed granite and gravel with RM43 before the weeds get a better foothold.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

Riptides, glad the drama was low. I was afraid of more drama last weekend but it went pretty well.

Alien, good thing the Honda didn’t sail away, and you got it home.

Happy Dec everyone. We had a few snow flurries yesterday.
26° was the low, now 31° and sunny.

Drew, good luck with shed. Don’t get any tickets.

Glad it worked for you!!

I need to get mine in, but the snow has to melt a bit more
