Got son to airport early, got home and then to worship on time.
Had microphone issues while streaming. Main mic stopped working, so I turned up a battery powered wireless mic, then it stopped working.
Got the main mic working after service, not sure what the issue was.
Then went out to eat with old friend visiting from AR. About when we were done with lunch my son landed in AR and got back to school ok.

Was nice out, so got Christmas lights on the fence and new wreath on the door.

Massey tractor wouldn’t start, so put it in battery tender. Hadn’t ran it in a few months, since tilling garden in spring.

Changed geo furnace filters.

Oldest son still here, he heads to NoVa tomorrow evening for 3 day in person project meeting. His first time meeting in person in a company building since he started with this company last spring.

Good night all.

Coffee is done brewing. 23° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 37° with cloudy skies. May get some fresh snow this evening. Got my drive and neighbors cleared. Snow melted off all hard surfaces by evening. Put Christmas tree up.
My neighbor that has been in hospital since last Tuesday came home yesterday evening. He was being treated for Covid19. Dr's have told him he will need at least 4 weeks of recovery before he will be able to return to work.
I have no plans for today. Maybe I should clean up shop after last couple of projects.

Mostly, I am not a coffee connoisseur. Just plain old Folgers Classic. It taste better than hot water.

Popgadget, neat tool. Any pictures of it in action?

Randy, prayers for surgery success.

Kyle, great son and fish picture.

David, good rub on us that are in the cold. But then I think about all the work you are making for yourself with the garden. 😂

RNG, I use a Mr Coffee maker with a SS thermo pot.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

23° right now...high in the low 30's today. Actually, doesn't look like it'll get above freezing.

Work day today, but since my stepdaughter's work schedule changed, today will be a work from home day. I will take a couple hours off sometime this week to swap out my tires for snow tires

Popgadget...nice piece of workmanship!! Since we did get that light dusting, I guess it's about time to put my drive markers in. I used to use a larger Philips screwdriver with an 8-10 inch shank last year, I'm going to try a drill made for the job this year...and better do it soon
Hope I didn't waste my money!

good morning all
36 going up to only 43 today in fair weather.

did get all the leaves done yesterday but who knows what it will look like this morning after winds share the neighbor's leaves.

Popgadget researched the snowblower battery and sure enough, a proprietary little thing:
And I read several reviews of complaints over battery not charging so clearly Ariens has a supplier problem.
If no batteries in stock, I'm stuck. Well....I'm going to go buy an EGO this week unless they have that battery in stock.
Not much confidence in that.

Roy, I have a similar drill, worked great last year, very necessary since I have a gravel driveway and the soil near the driveway is of course full of rocks.
Drilling the hole and using a rubber hammer worked fine. Of course I only have about ten to put in, small driveway.

Am off shortly to transmission shop in Doylestown to get truck trans serviced, and old friend is picking me up there so we can go to breakfast together.
I promised her a trip to Longwood Gardens this month so we will pick a day for that.
Truck has a slightly rough downshift into first when slowing down, hope the trans flush and new filter will help that.

all of you dealing with snow, no falls.
Toppop, sorry about your leg. Sometimes I feel like that Argentinian beef dish where they slice off the meat in little strips from a carving station.
sometimes with my dermatologist and plastic surgeon I feel like the carving station..................

   / Good morning!!!! #141,766
Drew, I hope you can find an EGO blower. The big self-propelled ones are hard to find right now. Lowes is the prime authorized dealer, but Ace has them too.
Be very very careful if you go through Amazon. Too many unauthorized sellers and EGO won't warrant those sold by unauthorized sellers. It's one thing getting screwed on a $250 battery...getting screwed on something that'll cost >$1000 is a whole different thing

I put 25-30 markers in since my drive is a loop. I put 'em in 12-15 inches off the edge of the drive...even then, I'll break a few over the course of the winter

On a lighter note, if one has to be stranded, these folks found the right place:
I bet our English friend, Eric Salop, is on his way there now...to be "stranded"!!

37 going to 49 but windy.

Randy, prayers said on your skin and hope not too serious. Buppies, sounds like yours was pretty rough.

Kyle, great look of happiness on your son's face. My wife's feeling good, but has a purple bruise the size of a small frisbee on her hip.

Got some oil changes to do, but will wait until not so windy since I do them outside. Lots of other items on my to-do list from which to choose.

   / Good morning!!!! #141,768
Roy, my first two sheds were through Amazon. One the seller has twice tried to recharge my credit card when Amazon admits/confirmed the shed was lost in transit.
Allegedly. So you bet, some bad actors out there.

I bet the dart board in that English bar got quite a workout.

30 outside heading to upper 40's.

Getting ready for family making their way here for tomorrow. Should be a nice couple of days coming up.

Interesting topic driveway markers....I use what they call step in posts for temporary horse fence. They have a step on plastic piece towards the end of a steel spike. Mine are grey and black, staggered/alternating painted so they stand out in the snow and blend in to the grasses right about now.

Got a zoom session with our county tax people this afternoon to discuss their assessment of some buildings on the property. Should be....interesting.

Calling in reinforcements for the wood pile work. Reality set in after I retrieved the game cams and saw a new "pasture" that was cleared when a huge tree uprooted and came down. Talk about clearing property. That thing looks to have demolished everything for a few hundred feet in each direction where it came down. Even topped off a few other trees in the process. More firewood work for sure. Wonder if it made any noise? LOL.

Hope all have a great start to the work week. Be safe.

Good Morning.
It’s 31 with a high in the low 40’s, clear skies and breezy.

Yesterday I didn’t get much done other than the trip to Vero Beach.
Had a nice dinner at Mission BBQ on the way home from the airport, brought home a container of leftovers to add to the mass of turkey we are still working through. I think that today I might go to Harbor Freight and look at their tool sets. Youngest son recently moved out and has no tools of his own. Considering that he grew up in one huge tool box and shop equipped for metal, wood and mechanical work and fabrication, he is at a loss in a townhouse without even a pair of pliers. Shopping for him should be easy.

I’ve got to figure out how to fix my beloved Swiss Army Cybertool. I put it in the ultrasonic cleaner, and had the heat set up to almost 180 degrees, which was enough to melt and deform the plastic bolsters. I’m thinking about putting it back into the hot water to soften it up, and then clamping it back into shape while it cools.

And of course I have a box of 100 driveway markers to test my swell new installation tool. It will be interesting to see what design revisions come out of that.

Busy day, eh?

I think the success of the marker tool will depend on how hard the soil is. With 12" exposed, probably snap if the ground is frozen...but do let us know!

Good morning! 34˚F, with the wind changing and cloudless sky we will quickly warm up to the 70s.

Got notice yesterday that our card club will be having a New Years Eve party and games from 5:30 -9:30 p.m.. We will be celebrating the coming in of the new year with Greenland and Rio de Janeiro. In our time zone that means 9 P.M. Sounds good to me. (The building closes at 9:30 and no one really expressed the desire to wait till midnight).

Our county's tally on the Covid cases.
66,990 covid-19 cases.
729 deaths.
Slightly less than 99% of those who caught Covid locally recovered from it.
New cases from the 4 day Thanksgiving weekend will be coming out today and tomorrow.
Does your local area have a similar survival rate?
From ages 5 and up we have 65% fully vaccinated and 75% partially vaccinated.

I need to run to Costco to get the last Christmas gift.

Gray2 ate a good helping of tuna yesterday. and then threw it up in his new heated bed which be getting a low review on Amazon because it does not wash easy. He continues to peck at his new food and we are still worried he is not eating enough, but he is still purring loudly.

No driveway markers in Central Texas and the governor has promised no loss of power this winter, his job probably depends on it.
