Good afternoon! Gray2 had his vet visit this morning and with the symptoms the vet check him for bladder infection, kidney infection and diabetes. He has a kidney infection which they treated and now he has a special diet food. The vet also gave Gray2 some appetite cream we rub on his ear, and he did eat a little after treatment. His new bed is his to go spot during recovery.

Went to BestBuy Black Friday sale and got there late because of Gray2's appointment. I thought I was doomed by the full parking lot, the store was crowded but the check out line was not. I grabbed the TV for Mom (the last one of that kind) and was out of the store in less than 5 minutes. Whew!

I do NOT agree with assisted suicide, suicide in any form as far as I am concerned is the cowards way out of life.
Eric Salop said,
I feel I have to say something, I simply can not agree that everyone who commits suicide is a coward. My mom had Parkinsons disease, which she coped with very well for many years. She was a very tough lady, however her last few months were not something most of us would wish to endure. If the option had been there to end her own life she would without a doubt have taken it and it would have been a blessing for her, not at all a cowards way out. Our laws which make it illegal to help someone in such circumstances are cruel in the extreme. We would be prosecuted for animal cruelty if our pets had the same ending to their lives.

My sentiments exactly, Eric. You just said it better than I could.(y)(y)

Maybe we need a positive term, perhaps assisted passing or such as the word suicide itself has rather negative baggage.

Well the predictions of the weather in Burlington being ugly were accurate. But we got in and out dropped off in Hagerstown, and landed back in Philly. Weather was clear enough for the return legs, but pretty breezy, over 35 and bumpy. But we are done and on our way home in the Prius.

Glad you had a safe trip.

I have a little fiddling and adjusting but so far so good. I'm amazed the wind didn't blow them away.

marvelous news that I will have the combined genius of Ken and Paul here tomorrow morning to pass judgement on my shed
and then to see if we can figure out why the almost new snowblower won't start.

sounds wonderful Toppop.

Wife made Apple and pumpkin pies. Came out great.

Got the welder and wire etc. Didn't set myself on fire, so all good with first weld in 30 years.

We had 20°F and clear skies this morning, and got up to a whopping 40° for all of about five minutes. 34° now, and will stay in that vicinity all night, then head up to 57° tomorrow.

Thanksgiving was subdued for us this year. Wife got the call early in the morning Thursday that her father had passed. This was not unexpected. He had developed breathing difficulties while in the rehab center, went to the hospital again, and never really recovered. They called in hospice about a week ago, and two days later moved him to his sister's house. Wife got a call from her aunt around midday on Wednesday telling her that the nurse said he had maybe two days left, so she went to spend the rest of the day with him. He died about 12 hours later.

I told her we could delay or cancel the big meal if she wasn't feeling up it, or I could do the cooking. She wanted to cook, though, saying it would be good therapy. So, she did, and it was a fantastic meal as always.

I managed to get the heater placed and connected for the chickens' water. It was already windy and cold Wednesday afternoon, making way for our first hard freeze. Got the heaters in the well house and garage set up, too

Wife went to the funeral home today, owned by a relative on her dad's side of the family, to make the arrangements. He's ex-US Navy, so it will be a military funeral. We're waiting to hear back from Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on what day they have available next week for interment.

Wife wants to pull all the Xmas stuff out of storage tomorrow, originally planned for today. We'll be sorting and disposing of much of it, as the display has gotten progressively smaller over the years. We've even gone down to one skinny tree upstairs next to the piano. At least we'll have nice weather for it.

Happy Anniversary, wngsprd.

Happy Birthday, David (however many trips it was).
