I had my share of bad ones in the rehab center a couple yrs ago

Buckeye, while I was in my first three bad weeks in hospital, with dementia and hallucinations, I was incontinent.
Couldn't help it, zero control. Thank the Lord on the first day of the fourth week all my symptoms stopped overnight and
I was fine, sort of, thereafter. But my young not very bright nurses aid was put out that she had to change my linens so often and
install a catheter repeatedly. So she hauled off and slapped me on the way out one night. Not my face, down there.
I was sort of dumfounded. Here I was, basically mentally deficient (always happily I might add) and clearly not in control due to what they thought was a stroke.
There were a lot of folks in worse shape than me and I wonder if anyone else got a love tap too.
Clearly someone who should not be in nursing and harboring a mean streak.

You can't make this up...nor would I.
Folks who came after her in rehab were awesome. This was in ICU. Night shift.
Because of Covid, family could not come in and provide oversight.
However I had a great oncologist and that's all that ultimately matters.

I do hope that nurse got fired. I never complained, figured no one would believe me.

Good luck with your new electrician, Doug. We had to replace our electrician about halfway through the project when we remodeled our house. The guy would hardly ever show up, and it seemed we were always waiting for him to do something before we could move on to something else. He'd show up, work for about 45 minutes, then disappear. Even the carpenter who recommended him was getting frustrated with him. The new guy was there every day, on time, and worked all day. We ended up having him completely rewire the house to a new box once the basement was torn out.
Sounds like you and I had the same guy. He even made my kitchen installer remove some cabinets he had just fitted so he could punch holes in the wall and then just left them. He argued with the installer (who is a brilliant guy) and upset him so I told him to come for a walk and relax a bit. Turned out to be a very arrogant sod and wasted so much time. He was extremely overweight and got his offsider to pick up everything he dropped as he couldn't bend over. His offsider did nothing except run to the truck for tools and hand him stuff. The offsider fitted one wall plate and it was 5mm lower on one end. Mr O'weight then fitted 3 wall plugs out of 4 and then went home without telling me he hadn't connected them. The power was right there to connect up. This left us with no power in the kitchen for electric jug or m'wave etc. The 4th plug was for the dishwasher which we needed. He didn't even fit a wall plug, he just left the wires poking out the wall. When he left (which surprised me as he had heaps to do) he said he would get back when he could in a few days. ??? This was the last straw. I told him to make up his account and not bother coming back. All he could say was "Oh, all good, all good." He must have been upset as when he got home he actually rang me 2 times accidentally so I blocked his number. Hopefully the new guy can finish off so I can re-fit the cladding on the wall of the house again.
Mr O'weight was in no hurry to oblige me there.

"Rich, that's a hell of a story (your hospital visit)"

Oh there is more.....once I was admitted there were some interesting happenings. Some of which is similar to Drew's story.

But I will recount that as I get there.

I probably am boring people but so far, it has been surprisingly therapeutic. Maybe I needed to relive this in my head after I tried to forget it.

Well, about 2 weeks in the hospital, then 6 weeks in rehab...all after a moderate stroke 22 years ago.
Reckon we all had issues during those stays...

My neighbor is saying similar stuff about his symptoms that you have been posting. Yesterday he went to hospital. Not sure what treatment they gave. Then sent him home. But last night he got a full night of sleep that he has not had in days. Being less than 40 years old helps him.

Drew, I complained, sent an email to the head of the spinal care unit I was in, in the middle of the night. (GBS patients are put in spinal care unit). The head nurse visited me the first thing in the morning to find out what happened. Think it helped. Basically I was in extreme pain and night nurse wouldn’t give me pain meds because she didn’t think I needed it.
The PT and OT people were fabulous in the rehab center.
I had a couple nurses that were top notch. The neurologist Dr was very good.

Please keep going with your story, Rich. This country is still a long way from being out of the woods with Covid, and reading your account will help us know what to look out for, and should the worst happen, what to expect.

Glad you're still with us, buddy! (y)

27F and clear @ 19:15, heading down to 26F for the overnight low.

Hopper and two sunflower tube feeders refilled, dead squirrel is still out there on the ground, hopefully someone will dispose of him tonight. If not, I will do it tomorrow.

Noticed deer feeder was empty, cleaned out overnight, did not refill it. Need to get a game cam on that to see who is raiding it. Probably the raccoons.

Got appointment made for tomorrow afternoon for notary.

Drilled 100+ holes for daffodil bulbs (tomorrow main project) using the new batteries for the drill. Got 80+ holes done with the first one before I had to switch to the second.

Just mixed up a bucket of TSP substitute for The Woman. From the sounds of it, it sounds like The Squeak is attempting to assist.

Heading down to feed fish here in a few, then probably help The Woman.

After that, first Texas sheet cake of the season may be on the agenda ...

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

19° right now...high in the upper 30's today..
I should make a dump run this morning, but I have back to back to back webinars most of the day. If I don't do it today, it'll be another week since I'm pretty sure the dump is closed this weekend. Only two bags right now, so another week may not matter...
Up too early, so I'm going to read the news, drink a half cup of coffee, then back to bed until 0530-0600 or so...

Edit (0505)
Well, never got back to sleep, so there'll be a nap sometime today, no doubt.

Forgot to mention, I had ordered an artificial Christmas tree a couple weeks ago that was delivered last week. Upon the delivery, my stepdaughter told me she had also ordered an artificial tree which was delivered yesterday. Reckon we'll open both boxes and decide which one to keep.
I love the smell and looks of a real tree, but I'm just not going to waste a real tree for a couple weeks enjoyment. If we're going to decorate a tree, it's going to be alive and growing...and outside

Drinking first cup of coffee. 31° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 45° with mostly cloudy skies. Shopping went well yesterday. Did not get to painting done yesterday. Made sure all outside water taps had been shut off at valves inside house. Then started cleaning house. Will get that finished today. May get to Mule pole rack painted today.

Drew, sounds like you have lots planned for the holidays.

Alien, getting up early is in the genies. According to my relatives. I give fighting it and just enjoy that I can get up earlier that most everyone else.

Looking, hope your PC repair is going well.

Roy, sure glad I do not have to deal with dump runs. Even though I live in the township they provide trash pickup. Will take almost anything. Maybe not a car or tractor

Buppies, hope biopsy is not C.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

good morning all.
26 going up to 48 today in sunshine.
First cup of Gevalia coffee very good, but they grind it so fine it clogs up my drip coffee maker and makes
a real mess of the insides as the grounds go places they shouldn't. At least it still tastes good.

a run to local orchard to get some more apples this morning, then home to bake apple blueberry muffins and put up the rest
of the xmas lights. Hope the wind dies down, mighty nippy yesterday.

I always called getting up early "farmer's genes". Figured I got it from paternal side that farmed in what I think is now the Ukraine.

I generate so little trash living by myself I only have to do trash cans every two weeks. Except for the heat of summer when things cook
unpleasantly inside the trash can. Too bad they don't have single stream recycling here. At least my current trash company does a separate recycle
pickup. Last company threw all recycling into regular trash. Never understood why municipality allowed that. I think it was one more thing blamed on Covid.

Economic indicators very good. Now if we can stay out of a war and avoid Covid III, we should do fine.

Asked my sister to please be careful when out on the streets of San Francisco.

21 outside this AM. Heading to lower 40's. Got busy yesterday with house hubby stuff.

Managed to get a haircut, but that was an adventure getting to civilization. A normal 20 minute trip took 1.5 hours. Six accidents all going south on a road I was going north on. Too many Police to count. Looked like a bad day at the races. I thought maybe a road rage incident took 5 cars out? Anyway, who knows.

Since the hair was looking sharp, I decided to try my luck at groceries. The SO was not answering her phone, so I left the store with a case of beer, diapers and bananas. Essentials only. I was looking for water jugs, the big ones, but no surprise... they were all out with empty jugs all over the place. Took receipts for future trade-in. Having struck out at water...off to the meats and fowl section. No answer on the SO about what we could use, so I am looking at some nice cuts of beef. Ahh..........they must be imports from Japan on the beef or something. I had to do a triple check on the beef cut and price. Two average looking filets.....55 dollars and some change. Must be a label mistake run amok.....no....the whole selections were like that. Good thing I gave up red meat a while ago. Yikes.

I left with a feeling of nothing accomplished, but at least the beer will keep me happy for a while. LOL.

Today, more splitting time and need to do some horse care.

Hope all have a Happy Thanksgiving, and get healthy over the holidays.
