Good morning, low 29 and high to 46°F. Wind WNW 2 mph. Sunny!

A dump run and flatten out the wheel tracks in the driveway is all that I am up to today.

I'm sorry for your loss, David.

Have a safe day all

Good morning! I'm still on DS time. 59˚F heading to the mid 70s.

Today I'm getting extra 6" of insulation blown into the attic and 10" insulation above the uninsulated garage and getting the metal West facing garage doors insulated. I've been waiting for the cooler temps so the installers don't have to work in 100˚+ attic.

FireWise went well yesterday, the new sawzall batteries kept going and going. I'm glad there were plenty of haulers so I did not have to use the knee too much. I'm still waiting for a cancelation to get it done before my appointment in 7 weeks.

Our FireWise group has cleared 7 wild areas in the neighborhood this year. Yesterday they told us there are 393 more to go.

Just 61 new covid cases in the county yesterday, but we are still in the red zone. People are starting to doubt the accuracy of our county's covid zones. To move to a lower zone three indicator have to decrease each day for 14 days, if not the 14 day countdown starts over. Our neighborhood does not require mask inside anymore and neither do schools or business. Only the Dr's offices require mask. We have been in the red zone since July - back then we had 600 new cases a day.

My German cousin's son that was in the motorcycle accident months ago has been in and out of the hospital with infection from back surgery several times. They finally found out out that he was allergic to the dissolving stitches, hopefully he is home for good now.

David sorry for the loss of your BIL. Your hung cabinets are looking good. Will your stovetop have an exhaust vent?

Bird there is fast growth around here also. All neighborhoods that are building are sold out. Used houses sell in about 10 days after listing even though the prices have increased about 30%. In our neighborhood as soon as a new street is put in slabs of sold houses are poured. Traffic is getting worse and the town had it's first road rage incident last week. A motorcyclist shot another driver who got out of his vehicle to approach him.

Keep the pics coming Alien. Looking good.

48 and maybe a small surprise shower then sun and 72.

Prayers said for Buppies and Sophie's family.

Did more prep work for painting/staining, and washed 16 windows.

Alien, it's looking good.

good morning all
49 going up to 65, nice sunny day

David, sorry about loss of family. Yes, that age makes us all feel mortal.

Doug, that's going to be one strong barn, very impressive.

I packed up a medium flat rate USPS box full of local apples, wrapped individually in bubble wrap, and have to take
that out to be mailed today. I often send citrus fruit to family for xmas and I realize they all like the local apples better and it's less
expensive for me to pack and ship my own. So I'm sending about ten pounds of apples to my oldest brother's son, who I took some down to last
week and I get almost daily emails saying how good they are. Ok, more coming. At issue of course is what shape will they be in after that heavy box
gets tossed around a bunch in transit. His mother can always make applesauce...:cautious:

Might do a little woodwork in garage today after it warms up. Have some outdoor thermometers I bought as xmas presents, need to build a decorative
cedar frame for them.

Don, sounds like a really good idea getting that extra insulation blown in, will be interesting to see how it affects your utility costs.

couple of pics coming across Chesapeake Bay bridge plus my favorite wall hanging in the little greasy spoon luncheonette not far from my old farm in NC.
If you haven't driven over this bridge/tunnel there are two tunnel sections the big ships go through, the ship in the left pic is headed for the opening in the right.

63 degrees this morning, going for 75 with a 30% chance of rain this afternoon and 60% forecast for tonight. I hope it does; we can use a little rain.

Diitto on wngsprd weather forecasting. Showers just passed us.

I cannot remember what I did yesterday. Was outside all day. Just cannot get the log splitter running. Time for a new carb probably and a professional. Sigh.

Was cleaning up milk house, moving boxes that have not been unpacked in 20 years and came across this guy. After I moved the box, turned around to get the next one. LOL. Since it is the milk house, the temp kept him very slow moving. So I took it outside and let him enjoy the sun. Of course, that was the end of the milk house "work" for the day. The wife asked if I put him back later in the evening. LOL.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

Rip, nice black snake. Too bad so many folks are scared of them. I always had one or two around my barn and very few copperheads.

ladybugs are swarming and somehow finding a hole to get in my house. Only bug I will carefully take outside, but this time too many.
Vacuum cleaner got a work out.

   / Good morning!!!! #140,971

as I was driving up the Delmarva peninsula there are a lot of tyson and perdue chicken farms.
And big signs saying $15-20 per hour to start, and one sign promised a $1500 signing bonus, but the other
sign offered $3000. That level of expense simply has to raise the cost of food.

Hi guys, barn is 15 meters wide and 12 meters deep. Each bay is 5 meters wide so I can open car doors without hitting anything. Rain has just hit hard so hoping it will be gone by the morning and build can continue. (Wishful thinking)
Having weird weather here at present. Never know what is going to happen.
Pleasant surprise this morning. I found a koala in a tree beside the house. Hopefully he has claimed the tree. (As they do) The last koala that lived in the tree died a bit over a year ago. They are lovely little blokes.

Special mention to David. Sorry to hear your BIL passed on mate. Please accept my condolences.

Doug

Good morning all. This mornings mist is slowly lifting, there looks to be a competition in progress to see which type of grass can hang on to the most water droplets.

David, sorry to hear of the loss of your BIL.

Bird, our small town has been expanding rapidly too. I can never complain about all the extra people though - because I am one of them !

I've gotten hopelessly 3 days behind. Will have to catch up when I can. I've gotten busy at work again.

Daughter's driving is bubbling up past issues with old Impala, has a front end passenger side deep squeak. Possibly the strut...or right side A arm bushings. Old car is not worth much, but I put new tires on it a couple of weeks ago, so now have incentive to keep it going a bit longer. Tranny shutters a bit when cold.

Sunday, Went to buddy's who bought the hay equipment (and huge tracksteer) to help cut hay. His field was still too wet. I told him, if we get Jack frost, that he will have to just shred it and forget the hay. Our cold front is coming tonight, but not supposed to get below 40F after all. So we ended up putting his 3 point rake back together. The huge tracksteer had quit working after he did some minor clean up work on it. He called the distributor and found out labor was $175/hour and driving was billed the same. OUCH... Anyway good news, we found out a relay was causing low voltage on the circuit for the main controller. Swapped it with another one, and walla, it put a huge smile on his face. He says he's gonna use it to clear 50 acres of huisache and mesquites....and then sell it.

Also have to get to work sooner due to business.

Happy Birthdays Mostly's wifes, BEF's son, Ron's son.

Prayers for Buppies and our team and country.

Billy beautiful pics. Glad you're in condition for a hike like that.

Good Morning.
It’s 48 with a high of 64 forecast with clear skies, and rain overnight.

Yesterday was a perfect day to work outside. Oldest son and I pulled the fountain from the pond, pressure washed it and stored it for the winter. Went back over to neighbors farm to figure out why the welder wasn’t charging the battery. Turned out to be the AC coil under the flywheel. A lot of work to fix for something that doesn’t see a lot of use. So for now, I’ll leave it on a battery minder, and just plug the battery minder into one of its outlets when it’s running. There is no battery draw other than for starting, the ignition is magneto, so that should be a workable solution.
Before I left, I serviced the shop crane next to it, which would only lift about a third of its stroke.

Today will (hopefully) be the last mowing of the season, but the weather has been so crazy, it’s not a certainty.
This evening is an Airport Authority Meeting. They are still done via Zoom.

Kyle, check with me before you look for a new vehicle for your daughter. Mom’s Toyota may be coming up for sale, very low miles. I just need to convince her she doesn’t need it.

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 6:45AM. Mostly cloudy early, then sunshine for the afternoon. High around 65F. Winds light and variable.
We got maybe an inch of rain yesterday, and the driveway is still wet, but there's no sign of more rain in the 10-day. And weather down south looks clear with highs in the low 90s. One more shot at summer!

I think you may have already made the kitchen too nice, David. But it's in keeping with the rest of your work. (y)

Got the ethernet cables run over the length of the attic yesterday with the help of my friend, went about as well as can be expected. Also finished a bunch of little details in prep for our departure this morning. Trying to get on the road by 7AM, looks like he's running a bit late, but better him than me.:giggle:

Hump Day already!

Morning all;
Kind of a damp sour morning to start the day, supposed to clear off some.
Had a blood draw for Oncology lab work this morning so a 45 minute drive up, a 2 minute wait,
2 minutes in the chair and then a 45 minute drive back home to breakfast

Happy Birthday to all that celebrate 10 Nov., 246 years and counting, Semper Fi.

Happy Birthday to all that celebrate 10 Nov., 246 years and counting, Semper Fi.

and it all started in Philadelphia

The United States Marine Corps was established on November 10, 1775, to augment naval forces in the Revolutionary War. The recruiting headquarters was set up by Capt. Samuel Nicholas in the Tun Tavern on Water Street in Philadelphia, which is considered to be the birthplace of the Marines.
