RNG answered this through his posted link at 17 and 31 minutes. This was not a normal vaccine testing, it had billions of dollars and the testing and manufacturing were done quickly. Normal testing time is now redefined with mRNA vaccines that have urgency and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Good morning! Still warm and muggy, 69˚F heading to the 80s south wind. Our big rain event last night produced 2.7". The garden seeds should be loving it. Hope to see sprouts popping in a few days. I was going to mow yesterday and then saw the temps for this weekend will be in the upper 40s so why sweat, just wait a few days.

Hand and foot tournament tomorrow with prize money. Hoping for good cards and savvy partners.
Uncle Don, the rich card shark!
Dense fog this morning.
Went to a free RF fundamentals course put on by one of the big names in test instruments. Very good presentation and a good lunch provided.
No free lunch, unless your true friend buys. :)
"Since I do not use Mule on road. No need for adjustable lenses." - Ron
Oh, Ok. I thought the LED lights would take less amperage and you would not be driving around the neighborhood.
Don, I saw all the carts when I was there. Holy smokes folks, it seemed everybody had a cart. Do they allow Gators if they are quiet?
Got a notification from MS today that Windows 11 is available. Anyone done this upgrade yet?
Ron's new computer will handle it, if he wants it.

Dry weather for last two days has let me get on with more painting. My right arm is now complaining, it will either have to be left hand brush strokes for the rest of this afternoon, or else I take it easy and risk the weather for tomorrow. Whichever I go with, I am likely to regret it ;)

That is a good suggestion for older equipment that is struggling.
I had a mac mini that wasn't getting much use, so last winter I converted it to Linux. Since then I have been running an identical python program 24/7 on both that and a Windows 10 laptop. The Linux is flawless, while windows has needed a lot more restarts to keep it running (all due to operating system updates).

Reminds me of the joke from school days ...

Why do elephants paint their toenails red ? - to hide in cherry trees.
How did Tarzan die ? - picking cherries.
I was guessing that switching to left hand would come easy, since you guys drive on the wrong side of the road anyway. :) I'm sure the place is looking "spruced" up.

NiLight looks like they offer a very impressive range of lighting, Ron. Thanks for the link!

NiLights are what I put on the Cub, also have a larger one I got for the Kubota that I haven't put on yet. Seems like decent stuff.

Is it too late to move one or both of those sheds to your place, RS?

It was always too late ... ;)

Seems like you're gonna need 'em to store all your new treasures. 😄

Nah ... I've got plenty of room in the barn ... just need to clear out some of the junk ...

Glad to hear there might be some rain on your horizon ... (y)

Definitely another inside day

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Prize money could be as high as $15 for first place!!!!
Gators/Mules/Kubota ATV are all on the streets used by the CA and the 3 golf courses, so it would not look out of place around here. What would raise eyebrows is a golf bag in the dump bed.

Upper front, lower front, and compost/woodlot all mowed ... (y)

Rain chances pushing out further in the forecast, now looks like earliest real possibility would be 19:00 (31% chance), moving up to a 42% chance by 20:00 ... which is good news as far as I'm concerned.

Home a little early, so yard got mowed ahead of tomorrow’s rain.

Something digging in the field

Little rough where the tractor tires dug up last week. I want to clean up this area, used to be my brush pile till I started taking it across the creek. Need to get this moved.
Lots of walnuts on ground.

Wife got home from grocery shopping and doesn’t want to make anything for supper, I’ll just eat my left over pad Thai from lunch.

Birds chirping away.

Put a few burgers on the grill instead.

Good evening! Waiting for the better half to get home. Very nice day and evening so far. Looking like rain, but nothing yet.

Sitting here with the ducks, guinea’s, and geese entertaining me. Oscar the Friendly Goose like people better than geese. He is entertaining.

Last night was date night. Was on the bike. RNG will appreciate this, ride home was one of those rare rides where I felt one with the bike. That happens infrequently, but very special when it does.

With the forecast, tomorrow is likely is work on the race bike day. Last race locally is 10-30. Would like to see how it goes.

Did some training today at work with “the new guy”. I have concerns about his ‘tude/ability, but need to do it. Days are winding down for my involvement. But have a funny feeling I will be lead instructor come 3rd week of March 2022 at the service school. One of my most capable guys I have mentored says the school can’t be done without my involvement. He could do it himself, but he isn’t ready to admit he can.

Everyone stay safe out there!

It's a wondrous feeling, Rich, but only happens for me after staying on the same bike several days in a row, and sometimes not even then. Depends on the road, the time of day, and a certain clarity of mind that is also increasingly rare. Coming through that canyon this past Sunday was one of 'em. (y)

First basecoat color is on, second basecoat is mixed and waiting. Temperature and wind is almost perfect, fingers crossed it stays that way.

69F with light rain (supposedly - it's so light I can't even hear it and I'm sitting next to an open window) @ 21:00, heading down to 56F for the overnight low. Under a slight severe risk warning until 08:00 tomorrow.

Decided to go ahead and use the Cub to blow the leaves off around back on the east side before the rain got here:

IMG_1399 copy.jpg

By the time I got done the wind was blowing and it was raining leaves again ...

Amazon delivered plant labels and new sun visor for Woman's car.

After I finished mowing I moved the tow-behind spreader around front and moved the "treasure" dump cart over to the barn. Unloaded the newer dump cart into it and consolidated treasure. Went back and got Cub and pulled the newer dump cart over to the house.

The chains I snagged yesterday:

IMG_1397 copy.jpg

Then went back with the Kubota and moved a couple pallets of firewood around and put the "treasure" dump cart and the treasure it contained into the barn.

With those items out of the way I put the bucket back on the Kubota and hauled down 13 bucketloads of screened compost to east frog pond planting bed. May need one or two more, but it's close. Still have about of the first pile of screened material available.

After that I got the handheld Stihl blower out and blew the leaves off the turn-around/circle.

At that point it was starting to get dark and The Woman was due home so I put the tools away and closed up the garage.

"Endless Summer" hydrangea is really being endless:

IMG_1401 copy.jpg

Really need to get that thing transplanted and moved elsewhere.

Today's colors out front:

As of yesterday evening all S. fryeri eggs had all hatched and they were free-swimming ... so I turned them loose into the tank.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

For me, being one includes many things, but a good set of scrubbed in tires is high on the list.

Burrrr....it's down to 66F here. :)

I got some water in a couple of the idiot light bulbs on the Gator HPX and blew a fuse. Got that figured out. Now need to build a new lexan cover over the bulbs (old cover disintegrated), and make sure it's fairly sealed up good to avoid water getting into it.

Took the girls for a country ride. Stopped at a rural tourist destination candy shop....ka ching

I miss Rick. Hope he's alright.

L4N, I'm looking to see if Bud and Sissy are driving that Ford...

Yes, happy birthday Ellen! Pray Randy's bloodwork looks ok.

A friend went to dermatologist and she sprayed him in so many places with the liquid nitrogen. I asked to see what his bill is when he gets it.....if not too bad, I might go. OTOH, I have a large dewar of liquid nitrogen available.....I can just self medicate with a wooden stick Q-tip.

After last week's Aggie game, I hope they don't let up this week....

Drinking warm cup of coffee. 47° with rain this morning. Heading to 57° with rain ending late morning. .71" of rain since yesterday morning. PT went well. Last visit for my back. Got shop and garage cleaned up. Still have a bunch of material to move to animal barn where I store leftover wood and other supplies. Hope to get some tree trimming done today.
Did a check with MS computer health APP. It says my computer is ready. Used a APP suggested by CNET. It says no. Think I will wait as suggested for some updates have been done. Not ready to update to a new computer. I like how this one works.
Taking a break in the rain.

Randy, pass Happy Birthday wishes from me to Ellen. Hope all your blood test are good.

Looking, good looking truck.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
even when you are retired, the weekend still seems special...

warm morning, 65 out now going all the way up to 80 for a few hours, then a cold front comes through
and that should bring some boomers this afternoon. So today really seems to be the last hurrah of warm weather.
And hopefully lots of rain to water all this pachysandra and winter pansies I'm planting this morning at church.
First I have to weed that flower bed, what a mess. Seems like everything ground to a halt last year with covid.
Think I'll pick up another flat of colorful winter pansies on way in this morning from another garden center on the way.
Having color along that walkway all winter sounds like a nice idea.

did a little touch up painting on the porch posts and that job is done. Can't wait to get this whole area cleaned out, filled in with dirt,
seeded or mulched and looking nice.

63° right now...high, about 70. Rain today, maybe thunderstorms this afternoon. Maybe a couple movies this afternoon, if it rains
Dump run this morning. We need some groceries, not sure yet if I'll do the shopping, or stepdaughter...maybe flip a coin.
Suzette's cast came off yesterday. Now she's wearing some kind of boot...looks like it's part of Robocop's gear. Can't walk on it though, not for another several weeks.

Got down to 59 around 1am, 63 now headed to 82 before the strong storms after lunch. 66 tomorrow.

Still have not bought flooring yet, install guy thinks we forgot him I guess. I would love to do it myself but since my battle with sepsis 2 1/2 years ago I’m happy to be walking.

Ellen said thanks for the birthday wishes!

Gotta get moving. Have a good day.
