49° right now...how in the low 70's today.

Had a follow-up doctor's appointment yesterday late afternoon. Maybe some heart palpitations so I've got to double up up on one of the meds I'm already taking and a follow-up appointment in 2 weeks. Also, I had episodes of angina...very uncomfortable. Had the last one 2-3 weeks back, but I did tell the doc. So, a prescription for nitroglycerin is in the works. If you've never experienced angina, and I hope you haven't....starts as a dull pain in the jaw, moves to pressure in the chest, then to the right arm. Not particularly painful, but as I'd written, very uncomfortable and, initially, a bit scary...

All the family is doing good...Margeaux slept on my bed then climbed in her favorite chair when we got up. Wifey has physical therapy today, which she hates...but she's gotta do it. Don't think it's the pain, which should be minor...I'd say she's scared of falling and I don't blame her there. Getting old is a real *****, ain't it?

Poured first cup of coffee. 61° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 73° with rain in afternoon. Did not get much done yesterday. Flu shot made me feel a little under the weather. Feel good this morning. But have no plans for the day.

good morning all.

my day has changed. One email from Honda dealer led to another and now they are talking about delivery around the end of the year.
this is just nuts. I'm going out today to look at used trucks. Honestly think they are jerking me around and hoping I go away so they can sell
this truck for a higher price to someone else.

So....first a crown at the dentist this morning, expensive start to the day, and then off to a couple of local dealers.

Two Bit, please give it a rest and take your discussion to another thread where it belongs.
Good topic to discuss, just not here.
If you keep this up, you will get reported and moderator will simply cut you out of the thread.
It's happened before.
Come here to talk about your tractor, your home, your kids, your job, your dog, flowers and birds, whatever. And show an interest in what others are doing.
That's what makes our world go round here. So please take the vax/no vax discussion somewhere else and stay here for everything else good.

Roy, hope your day improves and household is happier.

radishes starting to come in, pretty zippy

Drew well said

Sorry about your Honda glad I’m not looking right now. If you really wanted to be stylish look at Lamborghini SUV. Your brother would be envious very fast 6 cylinder . If I was looking a BMW X5 with diesel more room than Audi and fuel mileage is unreal only used though.

Let’s take a breath, family, friends, gardens, tractors and such are what this thread is about. If you mention you got vaccinated, fine, but no more warfare over personal choices please.

Buppies, I think the new GM small Powerstroke diesel in the 1500 would be marvelous, long trips get almost 30mpg and not
have to stop so often. Of course with most of us, the restraining limit is our bladder not our fuel gauge...
Front end of GM trucks pretty aggressive, wish they would make more models for those of us who aren't
dreaming of driving a Peterbilt. That's for Bill, who actually knows how.

German diesels are excellent and powerful, V6 ones made 500 torque or more, and I guess if they are still in the US
they are all fixed to meet standards. Audi and BMW always had seriously powerful diesels, we just never saw them
in any volume here in the US. So yes, interesting idea, think I might invest in extended warranty though.

2014 Ram with hemi at local shop. I googled for reviews, geez first year of new style full of problems, hemi tick like I had with mine,
failing transmissions, flukey first year electronics software, etc. So while a nice looking truck and reasonably priced, wonder if I'm buying
someone else's nightmare. I would try to get the VIN and have run at dealership if the truck doesn't come with service records or was serviced locally.
This one has the name of local Toyota dealer on the back so clearly a multi owner truck.
So you have to be careful here because full disclosure is hard to find.
Might want to get a code reader and see if any history on that. And for sure a Carfax.

Had a Ram 2500 as a rental when my Tacoma was in the shop a few weeks back.
That hemi makes nice sounds...definitely has the power. Also, pretty thirsty...so keep that in mind.

66 outside this AM. Another grey start to the day. The weather people just cannot seem to get it right with the forecast. BUT....one is yapping that it is hard to predict. Hmm....humble. More rain is predicted today and into the weekend. Have not seen any yet and that is OK by me. Should be mid 70's again today. More moving stuff around.

On trucks and purchasing...been there. When the GMC 2500 diesel was totaled, we were out west and the selection was good but limited. The prices were approaching new. I am talking five year old and older vehicles. We came home and our local dealership...big shoutout...was looking for us too. We have bought five vehicles from them. They found a few comparables but the prices for used were out of my pay scale. Luck would have it they had a year old GMC 2500 on the lot, and well it was priced like new. LOL. So that is ultimately what came home. With finance charges and incentives, well it just did not look good on paper going with used.

The grass is definitely starting to slow down....yippie. And more good news...except for the wallet...our septic system install looks to be scheduled starting the end of the month. Ladies and gentlemen, that is close to a years effort with regulations, studies, permits, scheduling and bureaucracy to get to this point. That should be embarrassing point for my local and state governments.

Hope all have a great day, be safe.

Roy, my 2015 Ram hemi got 15mpg. I don't drive that much now so not a big issue. Problem was my old truck, while the best riding
of any of the similar trucks, was simply unreliable. Computer reflashed seven times. Valve train clearly had design issues.
So I'd really like to find a later model one where I hope they worked out the bugs.
Funny, I've only had one other car engine dump on me and that was a Dodge too. Intrepid company car, great design, but they put a new engine in at 20K miles.

But if I look at 2018's they are almost the price of new. Very poor value as Riptides says.
