66F and mostly cloudy @ 21:30 with some showers in the area. Headed down to 59F overnight.

Got hopper feeder refilled first thing.

Watered potted plants, including newly potted iris.

Got hair cut ... with the full trim ... (y)

Some clean up done in the garage, long ways still to go but getting there.

Ran over to Kubota dealer before they closed and picked up oil filter ($3 cheaper than NAPA), fuel filter (including both o-rings), and 5 quarts of Kubota-branded gear oil (@ $5/quart it seemed pretty reasonable)

As I pulled into the driveway neighbor was out cutting up some branches he had trimmed off his maples out front and he waved me over. Asked if I needed any wood. Told him no but I'd be happy to bring the Kubota back in a couple minutes and haul it over to the burn pile. Which I then did.

After that pretty much a lazy evening.

Just fed downstairs fish and let Squeak out into the garage for a little evening Safari action.

Rain coming down pretty good now, pouring actually.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Started early on the tractor since I had been up since 2.30 am. Got lots of rubbish, dead trees and large rocks shifted and then a hydraulic hose on the FEL blew. Missed me thank goodness. Took hose to town and can't get metric fittings till tomorrow. grrrr. Time to have a break.
Gotta take Spike to vet this pm for a follow up check.
Ordered 4 more windows and a slider door for the house. Already had 3 windows on order. That'll do for today.
Daughter took a pic of me in the Mustang when I went to see her yesterday. First pic anyone has taken of me in it. Shoulda had a shave...

Finally, I am done, done for the season and laid off. Y E SSSS!

Other than the fires and smoke we had to run through in the Northwestern end of the Province the only other thing of note was when I blew one of the retreaded tires clean off the truck. At 65 mph all I felt was a little thump when the axles of the lead trailer went over it. Good thing I was loaded. Stopped 30 miles down the road to inspect the damage and call the tire guy.
For those of you who've never been in Northern Ontario, the shoulders are about 2' wide and soft. Not the place you want to be parking a loaded tanker train. You can ask any of the 'new Canadian' freight haulers, they stop on the shoulder for a P and a tow truck has to get them back on the road. Expensive P.

Welcome back, Bill.

After having covid, and getting both Moderna shots, I'm really glad I don't have to wear a mask here.
Good evening! 60˚F the temp is just predicted to get warmer from now. We started the new quarter on H&F last quarter I ended up in 4th place. Cleared out the garden today and mowed the yard, had a garden meeting and cards - so a full day.

Kyle I hope the Moderna vaccine did not mess with your perfect natural immunity - you are good to go IMO.
Natural immunity is really being overlooked.
Now it's coming out why the Pfizer vaccine got approval for the booster so quick.

Medscape's Coronavirus Resource Center.

"Antibody levels may wane after 7 months for people who got the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, according to a new study published on the bioRxiv preprint server.

In the study, which hasn't yet been peer-reviewed or formally published in a medical journal, researchers analyzed blood samples from 46 healthy young or middle-aged adults after receiving two doses, and then 6 months after the second dose.

"Our study shows vaccination with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine induces high levels of neutralizing antibodies against the original vaccine strain, but these levels drop by nearly 10-fold by 7 months," the researchers told Reuters."

50° right now...high in the upper 50's today and will be drying out after 4 days of rain.
If it's dry enough this afternoon, think I'll start mulching the fallen leaves. The lawn does need a trim anyway...

Poured first cup of coffee. 62° with fog this morning. Heading to 70° with mostly cloudy skies. Had good visit with Aunt who lives in VA. PT is working. Back is slowly getting better. No plans for today.

Still no sign of much needed rain coming our way, so just have to look on the bright side. Our back porch/deck needs a fresh coat of Sherwin-Williams Deck Scape, so I had to go buy a gallon yesterday (whew, prices are going up) and i cleaned the steps at both ends of the deck and applied the Deck Scape to them. I also pretty thoroughly cleaned the deck itself and will apply Deck Scape this morning. The deck is easier than the step because I use a brush on the steps, but a roller with a long handle on the deck itself.

66 going to 80 and maybe rain today...it missed us by a mile or two yesterday.

Prayers said for your wife's aunt and her widower, Kyle.

Alien, you comfortable and happy in that Mustang. I still can't see how you can drive it sitting on the wrong side. ;)

LFN, I know the dangers of a soft narrow shoulder, too...I was mowing the shoulder in front of my place after the last big rain a week or so ago and had let the grass get tall...so the one place where there was still standing water in the ditch (that I couldn't see cause of the tall grass) is where the back end of the zero turn slipped down the edge and got stuck...I shot water from the deck chute all the way across the road, and had to walk back and get the tractor to get it out of the ditch.

As good as the roofers seemed to do on the roof, they were sloppy in using/not using tarps on the ground to catch the tear off...I found so many nails I had the salesman bring me one of those magnets on wheels yesterday. I kept count. After 4+ hours pushing and pulling that magnet, I've picked up 959 nails, plus lots of staples, pieces of shingle, etc. I still have a section of yard left to do since it got dark on me before I could finish. I'm sore today, but my bad shoulder feels almost well...maybe it was the PT for it that I needed.

Also, rolled the magnet right over a baby copperhead with the bright yellow tail...yikes. I had just come back from a 6 mile hike where I saw the biggest lizard I've ever seen (other than in a zoo) and a brilliant emerald green snake, plus a man hiking with what looked like 2 black bears on leash...as I got closer he told me they were Newfoundlands.

We got .19” rain from storms last night, lot more thunder and lightning than anything.

63 heading to mid 70's this AM. Rain was expected yesterday, but it was like island weather here. Nice puffy clouds, bursts of sunshine, cloud shadows racing across the ground...and the ever present throbbing of pain in the finger. LOL. Did I wreck that image in your head of the nice weather?

Rain expected again today. Nice and foggy outside right now. Humid...

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

Good Morning.
It’s 59 and only going to 65 with cloudy skies and a chance of rain.
We got just about 1/8” of rain yesterday.

Yesterday started in the shop, then lunch and drone mission for wife’s former coworker, back home to put the forks on the tractor and lift a pallet of shingles onto son’s roof.

Today will get some work done in shop, then I’ve got to go to Norwood, MA until after dinner.

61°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 75° today. More rain coming in sometime after midnight, and sticking around for the next couple of days.

Plant Manager and Project Manager at work were both on vacation last week, and have both returned. It's nice to be back to just being the Quality Manager again. That was a long week.

Had a nice little break from much of the internet as well last week. I was starting to find myself arguing with fools ... and we all know how that maxim goes.

whgsprd said, "As good as the roofers seemed to do on the roof, they were sloppy in using/not using tarps on the ground to catch the tear off"

:DWhen we had our roof replace recently, I was a little surprised to see them start by laying tarps all the way around the house, on shrubs, etc. But . . . then a brief high wind arrived while they were working, so they had to pick up stuff that blew even into the neighbor's yard, as well as our yard. But I'll say they did a very good job of cleaning up under the circumstances. I think I later found a half dozen nails, even dragging my magnet around the house.

A bit different kind of a week for me. My youngest grand daughter (3 Yr) has had her Day care closed and she is "quarantined" for a week or so.
So I'm baby sitting her. Could be interesting I did get the vaccine several months ago.
So it's a waiting game to see if she got it from her young playmates or not. One of the mothers wasn't feeling well and got tested,
came back as positive and she had been vaccinated and so they closed the daycare and "quarantined the entire bunch of day care kids.
A bit nervous but we shall see what happens.
Nice pasture pic.
