cracked in three places

Chris, that is surprising, heavily built lawn mower, weighs double what my JD weighs
what would crack a frame?

The front part of the frame looks like 1/4 inch plate. It looks like it was torn just behind the front wheels. There is a pivot point for the all wheel steer system on the left side where the damage is. I guess the power steering can exert some force and over time cause cracks.

I was trying to mow and it felt pretty squirrely. I was watching the frame flex when I tried to steer. I took it back to the barn and disconnected the link to the rear wheels and chained them straight. Now it is a front wheel steer. I was able to finish the mowing.

Rain never gave up so declared it a great day just to spend with Sophie conserving energy.

My pineapple cake is in the oven. Decided to add some coconut and walnuts. Maybe I’ll get a pic if it later.

Wallgreens came to our neighborhood ballroom today with 12 jabbers. No lines lots of yearly flu shots given, arm just a tad sore.

Big drops of rain hitting the roof, Whipper is letting me know there is a chance of thunder. Now it stopped.

Covid truck is not leaking oil after 7 hours, one more check in the morning and I"ll declare it fixed.

Good evening all. 68F for the start, partly cloudy sky and light breeze. Light wind except for the gust front, Sky became more cloud in afternoon and got dark about 4PM, and thunderstorms hit 15 minutes later. High temp was 84F , DP 68F. Bike ride this morning, then gassed up chain saw and got most of wood pile sawed to length. After lunch got 2 more wheel barrow loads split and stacked in woodrack that holds about 1 face cord. Shut down splitting when gust front hit. Did get tarp on woodrack before rain hit. No nap today.
Covid update: Cooke 4003 confirmed cases, 53 active cases, Montague 2462 confirmed cases, 55 active cases, Grayson, 15,473 confirmed cases, 303 active cases. Cooke 8, Montague 14, Grayson 0, new cases. Grayson number still don't add up
Roy good to hear Suzette is ok and recovering.
Buppies nice weather
Ron sorry about reaction to booster, hope you felt better today, nice wood pecker
Drew kinda hard to stock up on cars :)
Newbury good advice
Drew no inventory is part of the problem, the inability to correctly forecast change in demand, and the inability to change process to meet the changed demand does not help either.
Billy know what you mean on roof noise, they were 2 days to strip roof and replace. Lot of banging on roof with hammers looking for rotten plywood :( .
Paul glad trip was safe, time to work on landings :) full day planned.
Ken sorry about saw, is the a pre-emergent for hemlock? Our roofer spent 4 hours with bar magnet picking up nails.
Don sorry about your oil change issues, why I change my own oil.
RNG so why is rain waiting for your camping trip? Job securiy from "who else going to do the job" :) I quit watching Cramer, seems he was more into theatrical presentation the accurate evaluation.
Dennis hope your trip is fun and relaxing. Wrong Cramer :ROFLMAO:
Chris sorry about your first Maine vacation, glad you got a second shot. Good luck with mower repair
Rich glad you got a bike ride in, hope new hauler comes through.
Don still no FDA approval for Moderna, just Pfizer.
David hope Madame Pele does not have her eye on your place. Who stops to think if it can grow underwater why would a little rain hurt it? Does home grown pineapple taste different from canned pineapple?
Ron sorry about after effects
Thomas fish fry made about 12K for club, fish survey in Oct, waiting in survey info to make 2022 decisions on how to help lake.
Thomas nice day.
Drew nice ramp, know how you feel about critter.
Roy glad Suzette is home, thanks for link, thought I was watching speeded up at first :)
Don which strains are on the flu shot?
David look outstanding.

53F and clear @ 22:00, a high of 72.9F for the day. Headed down to 43F for the overnight low.

First thing on agenda for today was to screen the compost that I set out to dry the other day. Got that done and added a good bit to new second pile of screened compost:

Still have around 16 - 18 bucketloads to re-screen though, probably do that Saturday:

Kubota hit 2400 hours just as I was finishing that:

Will probably do the service on Sunday, since that is when they are calling for rain.

After I finished screening we planted the large Rose of Sharon in the lower front up by the gas meter:

That involved utilizing the 65 gallon leg tank, which was filled, and gets it out of the way for some work around back tomorrow where it was sitting.

Then the two dwarf peach trees:

After that we went back up and cleaned out around what I think is a crabapple (probably a volunteer, as the original one died), gave it a pruning, and added screened compost around the base. Woman also dug out 4 hosta there as well.

The Rose of Sharon, crabapple, gingko, and the two peach trees all had E-Coriganite and Blood Meal spread around them, to (hopefully) repel the deer and other pests.

Then I finished prepping where we were going to temporarily put the Heuchera and Heucherella until we're certain of where we want them and/or have the areas ready to go. Basically prep required bring down several more bucketloads of screened compost and spreading it, cleaning up the leaves/roots/other debris.

Once the prep was done we planted the 10 Heuchera/Heucherella and the 4 hosta The Woman dug up earlier:

The Woman suggested that area would be a good place to plant some spring-blooming bulbs ... which sounds good to me ... ;)

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Coffee is done brewing. 45° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 74° with sunny skies. After getting new belt on JD mower I felt tired. But it got worse. Was in bed before 7pm. Must have been my reaction to Booster Shot. Feel OK this morning. Ready to get at it. PT this morning then spend some time with my aunt.
Welcome October.

Don, I will be getting my Flu Shot next week. Did not get Covid and Flu at same time. Want to be able to blame the right shot for how I feel.

David, PUSDC looks good.

Roy, good wife is home. Thanks for the music video.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

42° right now...high in the low 60's today. Rain in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow.

Margeaux was ecstatic when Suzette got home. You know how puppies get when they excited...zoomies all around. Thought the pup went nuts for a bit. I'm trying to make my bed and she's "help" by jumping up and spinning around. Finally settled down.
Stepdaughter will be staying home for the next 2 weeks while Suzette recuperates, so I can go back to work (worked from home this week).
Technician coming this afternoon to service the furnace.
Been a helluva week, folks...
