Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 5:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 93F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Chance of rain has fallen to 20% for Monday night, with zero predicted accumulation. Poof!

I'd bet dollars to donuts, David, that the chicken in your pot pie came from unsold Costco rotisserie chickens. They also package the white meat and sell it; it makes great sandwiches, too. Congrats on the Mule, and good luck with the wait.

Not sure the 4-in-1 gap is a problem yet, Eric. I don't recall ever having the issue with the Kubota 4-in-1 on the old tractor, but I don't recall using it with dirt dust, either. Next time I'm out there, I'll open the bucket up and take a look at the mating faces to see if they could present a problem. Could be something as simple as one of the cutting edges being misaligned; I've already found a bolt missing on one of the side edges (on the left in the photo).

All this talk about shortages has me thinking maybe I should make a trip to town and stock up on paper goods at Costco. Yesterday I made a start on installing four more of the outside LED lights that were just delivered, only to find that the new batch of electrical box cover plates I brought home last Thursday are the wrong size. So I could kill two birds with one trip, almost worth while.

I put aside installing the new smoke/CO2 detectors a while back when I couldn't get them to pair with the new alarm system. So after my afternoon nap yesterday, I did a little more googling and found a new installation procedure put out by the alarm company, and it worked. So all the bedroom detectors are working now, and I just have to retrieve the extension ladder from the upper water tank to update the one in the great room.

The mouse in the kitchen ceiling is reminding me this morning that I haven't done anything about it, either. Maybe today is the day?

took a drive through farm where I grew up, fun to look at apple trees still bearing fruit that I used to prune, incinerator I burned trash in for a long time, until
that sure became illegal. Cool old stone incinerator.
The tower up on the hill is Bowman's Hill Tower. About the same distance on the other side of that hill is Ken's home.
There were two homes on the farm; buyer's knocked down our 1720 stone colonial home and built a garage on it, but left my grandfather's stone home alone
thankfully. Then they built a 12,000 sf Italianate mansion nearby that doesn't fit into the area at all. And when they tried to sell that eyesore they had to take almost half
their asking price to unload it. Way more money than good taste.

Will concentrate on getting my wall/door installed today. Need to get pics for Mostly
Just wasn’t happy with my 1st attempt. A bit of sag over the 90 inches. May have been Ok when done but decided to modify. Luckily found a length of 1.5x1.5 alum angle in my rack. Pop riveted the slider track to it with 1/8 rivets. My gun refused to pull the rivets completely thru. Took it apart, but I’m guessing the jaws have become just too worn for a good grab. Fortunately, I also have a cheaper gun. That worked. Sorta. Popped the 1st rivet just fine except it wouldn’t release the door rivet shaft. Vide grips to the rescue. 2nd rivet the rivet that holds handle in place at pivot breaks. 1/4 inch screw and nut were a perfect replacement. Popped #3 and again the shaft is stuck. This time it breaks off half way. Disassembled gun. Appears some surface rust on what should be moving parts. pB Blaster & WD40 to the rescue. Gun works so well I catch fleshy part of palm as it pops creating a nice pinch blister evoking a colorful reaction. Switch hands and manage to snag a larger chunk, more response. Last 2 popped without incident. Drilled out mounting holes and decided I was done for the day. Today will be the day.

64F and partly cloudy @12:30, one degree off the predicted high.

Was out a little bit ago, was trying to spit rain ... don't think much will come of that. Supposed to start clearing a little around 18:00.

Pileated woodpeckers are flying around and calling, also hear bluejays squawking, and other woodpeckers hitting the siding on the house.

Not sure what all I'll get into today, but it might a good day for work that requires some exertion, given the lack of sun and cooler temps.

Lawn needs mowed, but I doubt that it's dry enough at this point.

What a shame they knocked it down, glad they left your grandfather's place though.

David, before that rivet gun eats you alive maybe you should treat yourself to a new one
if you intend to continue your career in metal sculpture.

I rarely buy expensive professional tools, but years ago almost by mistake I bought a
75 dollar electrical connector crimper. The beefy one that makes that satisfying click when it's all done
making a perfect connection. And when I was finished whining over what it cost, I realized it was one of the
most satisfying tools I owned to use. Just wait for the click. It wasn't a Klein but another good brand.
Maybe you need the beefier stronger model too.

Once you retire everyday is a weekend.

True, but also no paid holidays, no sick leave, no raises to speak of, but some positives as well. I really like my boss. Wouldn’t trade it for regular job.

There is always some fencing that need repairing. I have a thousand or so fence posts that will need replacing over the next couple of years. Now we can once again buy creosoted posts I am hopeful that I can die before the replacements rot.

Gee Eric, not too sure of that perspective, but I do have things that I hope out last me.
