Kyle, I have surges protectors on everything that might be affected by a lighting hit. Computers and other stuff on UPS.

RNG, sending some of the left over rain your way. Going to be going the long way around the globe. Had to believe it is going to be there by Tuesday.

Popgadget, hope you get home today.

David, good on the BX. When you going to get the Mule?

Drew, enjoy your visit.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Morning all! 68 going to 69 with rain and thunder/lightning.

Neighbor says the hole was over a foot deep and covered with vegetation so he couldn't see it. He has mowed this field before with no issues. He hit the hole at full mowing speed and it stopped him dead.

The problem with the thermostat is it's to smart for it's own good. It can sense the inside temp, outside temp and can access the weather forecast for the future. It is supposed to take this into account and decide whether to run the air, heat pump or the oil furnace to save the most money. The air and heat pump are new but my oil furnace is 30ish years old. Installer and Honeywell trouble shooter couldn't get the setup parameters quite right. I think this is what is breaking the computer boards.
Installer came back yesterday and reset a few settings and the air is now working again.(fingers crossed that the heat will work when we need it! Glad I have the pellet stove in case it doesn't)

Need to fire up both tractors and get the yard mowed and ready for leaf drop season. With today's rain delaying mowing I can hopefully dig out the leaf vac and give it a service. I have new blades for the rider so will get that done also.

Doctors visit for me yesterday has me going back on blood pressure meds. We had stopped them temporarily to see if that was my issue of being cold all the time. I need a jacket at 70 degrees! Going to be a long winter if we can't figure it out. Will be playing with stomach meds next to hopefully find which one is the culprit.

Wife and I are doing fine other than that. She is in the process of maybe getting a part time job to keep busy.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Phil, hope the find what is problem. I have cold problems with feet and hands. I am off all meds. BP meds were causing my stomach problems.

49 yikes and going to 75. Crystal clear,...great moonlight overnight helped me watch Old Gray Tail walking around near our house at 5am...we have company coming for the weekend, so didn't take any action that could have left a stink bomb in the front yard.

Don, sent you the milk fat info.

Sodamo...great buy for Soph...seems like a long wait, though...welcome to orange (Kub. version). I've lost long posts, too.

Eric, I took Coco to 5 vets during her last year...her regular vet, specialists, and emergency vet...all had the same protocol of waiting in parking lot, calling them, they come take the pet on lease, vet calls back to share findings and then office lady calls back to get payment info. At two of them the vet actually came out to my truck to talk. I liked them the best. They all said she was a sweetheart to handle. I miss Coco.

Mostly, 4 trees killed by lightning strikes is a lot of lightning strikes...I think if you are there doing chain saw work and a thunderstorm is predicted, scram!

Buppies, cool bear photo. Mama is certainly nearby.

Did some spackling touch up yesterday on a crack along the tape at the apex of the ceiling...used the pink type for the first time...pretty cool...goes on pink and turns white when dry...also did a little painting before mowing for a couple of hours. More today.

67F raining low 70's for high rain ending late afternoon.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Friend call last evening asking if I could help him scare off bull moose which destroyed 4 of 7 pear trees  air horn cans he took off only to return with in an hour for his girl friend, new plan was to run off cow moose and she wasted no time leaving (y) guess love is in the air.

Looks like today wash out for outside puttering so Mrs. give me food shopping list to do wonder if she would notice if I pencil in leaf blower ;) putter and date night about it.

Enjoy the day all.

Game cam to pattern bear/bears movement.
Of all the things I try keeping certain bears away wind chimes work the best.

Signed PO for BX2380 with QC FEL, R4s, midmount mower. Six months projected, be here for Sophie’s birthday.
Still a bit shocked BX was over $1k less than like equipped LS MT125. Kubota also included delivery.

New lS dealer may have a painful learning curve.
OUTSTANDING!!! 👌

Now they are saying some stores are limiting liquor purchases....
I don't think most of you will have too many problems with that...

RNG, yes, I try to buy hamburger meat at our HEB stores, but Sam's has these huge packs of pork chops which usually cost $1.99/lb....but they were $2.98/lb, just the same as when the first covid wave hit. I buy them whenever I have to feed the masses, or want a bunch for leftover warmups. Kids like them.

Rich, be interesting to hear how it goes with the twin cylinder. There were 1 or 2 being campaigned with the big boyz for the last few years IIRC, but it's hard to beat the Indian crew.

Wish you guys could share that rain with California and us. Lightning that really booms and shakes windows is typically very nearby with not too much wind. If you hear the "craaaaackboooom" then you better change underwear.

Does anyone unplug their valuable electronic when thunderstorm is impending? I used to do it religiously, now not so much. Yes, the big expensive stuff still.

Prayers for the sick, our team, and nation.

I always kept my stuff on surge protectors, about 15 years ago lightening struck the pole on the street in front of my shop, fried everything including the surge protector.

surge protectors are the best. Even the low joule ones work. Though not with a direct hit like Randy's. Then the low joule ones pop in a hurry.
Worse is when they fail and let the current through anyway.
Remember that it's not just the one big one that wipes out your well pump or your microwave, it's
the cumulative trauma of every day surges. Like when your hvac compressor kicks on and off, sending ripples through
the system. I have a well pump that dims the lights every time it comes on. And every time it cycles it sends a surge through
the system, affecting everything plugged in. After a couple thousand of those, the tubes in your prized MacIntosh amplifier may
dim a final time...

Cyberpower 750 UPS for PC and router, surge protectors on just about every outlet.

and be careful with Amazon Basics surge strips. Some bad history of them catching on fire.
Tripplite is my favorite.

Morning, looks like the sun may peak out after many downpours last night.

Got the new chainsaw-CS-620P- The shop did not have much stock for chainsaws. Lots of Ash trees around here. Plenty of trimmers and weed wackers. He even has some mowers in, unlike Lowes and Home depot around here.

Drew - I know how to make deep swales if you need me and tractor for a weekend project.

PopG - good luck on the exam- how long does this cert last?

Welcome to TBN and GM Clint

Phil - good luck with the meds-

Thomas- I never saw a single moose in all my wanderings while in Mass. Though everyone said they were around. Have you seen the populations going up near you (though it does seem that you will have some new ones in the spring)?

Sodamo - a new member to your mechanical family- congrats-can't wait to see pictures when it arrives-with your spectacular views in the background.

Ron-happy looking frog - my dog loves to go frog hunting each evening-luckily she does not try to eat them.

Stay safe and be well,

First trench test-still a few areas to tweak, but went well:

Good morning! 51˚F, opposite of Bird my temp in here the valley shows cooler temps than in town, 57˚F in town. Clear skies heading to the 80s.

Got 3 things off the Mom's list, 1. burn barrel set up with a fence so cows don't play with it. 2. yard mailbox installed so Mom does not have to drive to road. ( still have to take paperwork to postoffice for approval) 3. She got her 3rd jab and yearly flu shot yesterday.

I'm temped today to pull the tomatoes, they have plenty of green branches and leaves being 5' tall but no tomatoes. I'll check real close to see if any blooms are forming. I need to add compost to the garden and till and round up the fall/winter seeds an get them in the ground.

David you have that container set up like a cruise ship cabin. Will it have a kitchen?
Going orange, great!

Welcome to the Morning thread Clint.

Popgadget hope your next post is from home and you have the training behind you.

Welcome to the GM thread, Clint.

That is rather amazing that you got a Kubota for less than an LS, David.
