Well, didn’t make it to work, but I got 2 more tons of wood pellets in the barn, and a little over a ton left over from last year in the front

Thermometer says 77° and 73% humidity. My body says humidity is much higher. Been overcast looking like rain. Need to start mowing, more rain coming tomorrow, maybe inches.

Can't carry a tune in a bucket, but I sure love listening to music. Still buying CDs, last one was a "Best Of" from The Association. Marvelous harmonies...
I still buy CDs, too. I just don't completely trust digital downloads. If the hard drive crashes, your music is just gone. I know some websites have records that you bought music there and will download it again, but not all do. And if you have obscure stuff bought elsewhere, it's just gone. I have most of my collection ripped to several USB thumb drives (by category) for listening in my car. If those die, I can always just rip the music to new drives. I still own the CDs.

The deer love lilies here, RS. They never even get to bloom.

Interesting.

We don't seem to have much problem with them eating the daylilies here ... but then they are all currently right up against the house so that may deter them.

The Stella D'Oro's are supposed to be deer-resistant ... I assume that might mean there's something about their fragrance (or taste) that they don't care for.

The Woman had an Asiatic Lily at one point (also next to the house) but it got killed off, possibly due to overly-aggressive digging in the area or maybe chipmunks.

Maybe you'll have better luck with deer scram than I do?

I've moved on to E-Coriganite (bio-solids sludge) from Menards - it should be a much more cost effective solution (provided that it works) and is also a fertilizer.

Trouble with any of these things is that you have to actually deploy them (and remember to do so ...)

Glad you passed the final.

Good luck on getting the ground leveled and the rust screened out ... (y)

It's hard to imagine that local neighborhood where 70 people lost what most felt I'm sure
was a member of their family. Lot of concentrated sadness. And a lot of new adopted pets, which is the only bright side.

my point on the weather was that tropical weather patterns seem to be moving North, and subtropical
weather seems to be moving that way also. Last year was the warmest year on record.
Two hurricanes joined in August of 1955 and almost washed my little town away. So yes it sure happens here.
My point was I believe the pace is intensifying. Just watch water boil slowly, then turn up the knob a notch.
I believe Mother Nature is turning up the knob, caused some would say by our wrecking the ozone and other
ecological disasters. Maybe we are on just a big cycle.
I'm sure there are those who think the ice age is coming back.

My best guess is Mr Sun is going to keep frying us for a very long time to come, and things will ever so slowly get warmer.
The ice will melt, the seas will rise, and hopefully we will have found another way to live on this earth, like underwater, since we're partially to blame
for the mess up top. All those city folk won't fit on the mountains...though I hear Afghanistan has some openings...
Or off this planet all together, either in giant space stations or other nearby worlds. And Mr Musk's son will take you there. He surely will.
With a drive in a Massey Ferguson rover when you get there.

Paul, your place was nicely mowed today, they did a good job. Tomatoes and the first apples from Manoffs were delivered.
yeah for the apple season starting.

need to get moving, lawn still has to be mowed. Pretty cloudy out.

Forecast for tomorrow is 56 degrees to 82 degrees with up to 30 mph breeze. Sounds wonderful to me. I plan to mow the yard early while it's cool AND the forecast breeze should keep the dew off the grass. Ought to be a great day.

I went to see my dentist yesterday for the first time in a long time. The pandemic has made me a bit hesitant, but also before the hot weather arrived, a sprinkler system in the dentist's office sprung a BIG leak (flooded the building), so she was shut down most of the summer while they completely remodeled the place. She did what was absolutely necessary at another dentist's office in the area, but I wasn't having any dental problem so I waited until now. So I just got my teeth cleaned and polished, and a set of x-rays made; no problems.

Buppies, glad you getting the rain you need.

Good thing I took off and mowed today, lots of rain showing on the radar. Got it all done.
The last 3rd of a 3 prong tree fell across my path to the creek.
IMG_1661.JPG

Even though it was rotten, it had limbs with leaves.
When the first one fell, it went across road and took out power lines, snapping one of the poles seen in background.

The 2nd one fell along my path. This one was leaning where it fell, and I was always nervous driving past it.
