Wow, l like that cabinet. Brand name?

Found a 4 ft wide one for $2300.

I couldn’t find a brand name, but it’s 48x24x72. The doors lock together with a padlock, there is no other latch.
$2300 seems about right from what I saw.

Might be cheaper to buy a stacker, keep it off until the hopper is full, then put my bucket under it.

Definitely cheaper to just scoop up the fines with the tractor and bucket I've already got, though.

63F and clear @ 20:30, headed down to an overnight low of 55F.

Started off with getting rid of that bucket of screened compost, then went and got another one to go alongside of it.

After that took two bucketloads of dirt from the dirt pile over to trail in woods along property line, spread that out with the landscape rake, then ran the rake all the way down to the end of the property to clear the leaves, sticks, and other debris off the trail.

Groundhogs doing major excavating at the dirt pile. I have some bad news for them ...

Then I got a couple more bucketloads and dumped it in front of the center door in the barn. That will need spread out and compacted once I get the box blade back on the tractor.

At that point I went inside to discuss the spacing on the forsythia hedge - basically to explain why it ought to be 6' minimum between bushes (that we'd probably have enough to fill the area at 6' spacing but not at a 4' spacing)

Then grabbed the rebar stakes, 100' fiberglass tape measure, sledge and marking paint and headed out to the west property line. Ended up calling her to come help with lifting the string while I kept it tensioned from one end and she dropped it - to get an accurate line.

She strung out the tape and I hit the string line every 6' with marking paint. I started the run at the telephone pole (to put the pole square in the middle of two forsythia) and we did the side north of that.

Once that was done she started looking at all the weeds around the ginkgo tree and ran down to the house to get various implements of destruction to handle the weeds, while I reset the string line to do the section south of the telephone pole.

I didn't count the marks but all told, it's about 200' or so ... so probably 30+ holes to be drilled with the PHD/auger. Will likely bang that out tomorrow morning.

She wants the blue spruce in the above picture relocated, which is probably a good idea as it's almost under the wires. Hard to say if it will survive the move though.

I used a shovel to cut an edge in the grass around the ginkgo and then went off to start mowing while she fussed further with the tree.

After she was satisfied with it, I took the Kubota over and grabbed a partial bucketload of mulch and brought it back and mulched around the tree (after running down to the house with the Cub to get the loppers and prune one dead branch off)

Had more than enough mulch for the ginkgo, so we took the remainder up and used it to mulch the hostas planted around the big maple.

At that point I was hungry so we broke for dinner (a BLT, with extra bacon on the side ... )

After dinner I headed out to continue mowing the lower front, worked on that until the lights showed dew starting to form on the grass. Probably got 75% done, will finish that up tomorrow afternoon.

All in all a fairly decent day, production-wise.

Rumor has it that tonight is chocolate pudding night ...

I fixed the ramp for the chicken coop. It had lost it's roofing shingles for traction. I put some wood slats across it. Chickens still not used to it.

Good afternoon, thought I would catch up on here while having a sit down to give my finger chance to stop throbbing after getting a splinter down the back of my finger nail. Fortunately there was enough wood left poking out to be able to grip it with pliers. Best of all, my wife says I am now excused jobs for the rest of the day



Dawes bikes have always been highly regarded amongst those who go cycle camping, their touring range could be loaded up with lots of equipment while still giving a good ride. The Dawes brand still lives on, though I understand production moved to the far east some years ago and nowadays they are more likely to be paired with an electric motor.

70F finally clear sky...as Roy said "Couple heavy showers just passed through...neither of them lasted more then 5-6 minutes though.

Decided try remove 3 rocks corner of front field,last rock was flat good size when I bump it with bucket dark cloud suddenly appear bees,thanks goodness Kubota had HST in steady gear shift,think I wait until mid November try again.

Good evening all. 71F for the start low scatted layer of clouds, light breeze, still humid. Light wind day, sky became partly cloudy with afternoon buildups, and high temp was 91F, HI 94F, and DP 71F in morning, and 59F in afternoon. Took long than I expected the humid air to get pushed out. Mowed the portion of lawn that gets bagged, then rode bike, then finished front lawn. Golf course open today and closed tomorrow so flipped the front and back mowing. Air was drying nicely so mowing not nearly so sweaty. Did get a nap in. We had trouble finding restaurant that would answer the phone so just went to lodge for dinner. Happy Labor Day you hard workers

Happy to report that all the flail mowing is up to date. Definitely was the opportune time as to growth. Shortest total time for the area. And it looks good.
