65F and clear @ 21:15, headed down to a low of 56F.

Refilled hopper feeder first thing.

Followed by putting pallet forks on Kubota and hauling that deformed arborvitae up to the burn pile. Ran back down and grabbed the broken out top of black locust that was lying halfway onto to the drive leading down to the barn and stashed it up in the woods.

Then I came down and unloaded the pallet from the van that had the Menards order on it.

After that graded portion of driveway that erodes some whenever we get a good rain.

Put the bucket back on and got some compost from the pile spread out to dry so it could be screened.

Hauled down around 5 bucketloads of screened compost from the pile for the edge of that east planting bed and the Stella D'Oro's.

Went over to the pole barn and fished out the Craftsman tow-behind dethatcher and brought it over to the house.

Then started hauling down dirt from the dirt pile to build up the creek crossing and the pad on the south side of the pole barn.

Wasn't too long after that that The Woman returned from her shopping trip, so I came over to the house and brought the groceries in. She picked me up some oil for the oil change on the Cub while she was out ...

She was ready to eat some lunch at that point and so was I, but I snuck out and brought down another bucketload of dirt to the creek crossing before coming back inside to eat.

After lunch I got the Cub out and hooked up the dethatcher for her and she mowed (and dethatched) the lower front. She was almost done when she ran out of gas and I spotted her walking down to the house so I intercepted her and told her I'd go get the can and bring it up in the bucket and refuel it for her which I did.

Then I went back to hauling down dirt for the creek crossing. Got the pipes buried far enough that I felt comfortable taking the Kubota over it with a loaded bucket. There's a bit of a low spot between the crossing and the barn which stays wet, so I dumped a couple bucketloads in there and got that spread out.

Got about half the gravel pile at the front south corner of the barn moved over to the side (so I can get the ladder put up and clean that gutter out)

Around that time she finished up with the front (and did a very good job) and had come down to the woods by the creek crossing and was picking out hostas from the remaining clumps.

I ran up and mounted the grapple and brought it back to where she was and we tried to hook up the diverter valve hydraulics but couldn't, usually just a matter of having someone else there to push the switch for the solenoid valve with the key on. Apparently an issue with one of the couplers, so I went up to the shop and swapped it out with a known good male/female pair and was in business.

After that I moved some fallen trees and some of the ones the neighbor and I cut down a couple weeks ago.

Finally quit when I could no longer see (gets dark quick in the woods ... )

Did manage to remember to grab the bird seed off the pallet on my way inside the house.

Randy, l can't find anything in the difference in naming the extra injection a third shot or a booster. it's used interchangeably. Did your Dr. tell you about the supposedly name of the third shot makes a difference, and a difference in what?

The PREP Act provides immunity from lawsuits for people who administer COVID-19 vaccines and compensates patients in the event of injury.

In a White House news briefing yesterday, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, MD, was asked about the ACIP's conclusions and whether she believed there were enough data to recommend booster shots for most Americans 8 months after their last dose.

"The ACIP did not review international data that actually has led us to be even more concerned about increased risk of vaccine effectiveness waning against hospitalization, severe disease, and death. They will be reviewing that as well," she said."

Good evening all. 74F for the start, mostly clear and light breeze. Stepdaughter had a positive Covid test Monday, so did not go to Men's Meeting, worked on Peugeot rear axel has started to sound like rock tumbler. Then worked on mower, almost 7 seasons, closing in on 600 hours. Rear wheels need replaced, blade belt was toast, had one on the shelve, blade brake needs help, apparently have to buy in on assembly, drive axles bearings are part of rear wheel height adjusters, and need to replace shear pins for drive gears. Mower is back together, may take a while to round up parts . Took a shower before nap, was sweaty on garage.
Covid update: Cooke 3638 confirmed cases, 43 active cases, Montague 2122 confirmed cases, 57 active cases, Grayson, 13265 confirmed cases, 283 active cases. Cooke 8, Montague 17, Grayson 37, new cases.

Question for UTV/ Mule owners.
For some time I’ve been interested in in replacing my gas golf cart with something more utilitarian, 4x4. As such I have followed on CL from time to time. Gators appear to be either severely over priced or ready to be parted out, except for the very occasional 2wheel model.
Last week I was seriously interested in a used Mule on over side of the island, but apparently played it too cool and the guy that didn’t look at it the previous day showed up with his trailer just before Owner was to FaceTime me to look at it.
Since then 2 others, but on other islands were posted and sold within 2 days. Mules here apparently retain their value very well.

So, after a discussion with wife, we concluded buying new maybe be the better option. As I’d be spending our son’s inheritance so he’d benefit eventually . I think I’m getting to the age maybe I should enjoy more tools and just be happy he gets the residual as well and remaining cash eventually.

Limited choices here. Talked with dealer who was also my LS dealer and no availability. Dealer on Kona side has limited availability and quoted me almost $3k above MSRP on a MULE PRO-FX EPS. Also has MULE PRO-FX EPS -LE in stock.
If price was right and available, I’d seriously consider the MULE PRO-FX EPS if available.

I do have an email in to dealer in Honolulu but no answer yet.

I would consider a Mainland purchase if numbers including trans penciled out.

So, I’d be interested in comments from you guys, including alternatives.

Almost forgot, Is it common to negotiate the price or just accept the sticker price? If negotiate, any guidelines?
