Good Morning.
It’s 68 and raining. Rain is going to continue all day and night for a total of 2-5 inches depending on the forecaster. They do agree that the high temp will be around 72. I think the disparity in rain totals centers around localized heavier rain in thunderstorms, and their likelihood.

Yesterday was a very productive day, once I got home from Lexington, I got the speaker packed up and off to FedEx, hooked up Progressive to the tractor, picked up my helper from his nap, and we got all the mowing done, youngest son helped by doing most of the Lazer work while we mowed the open areas.
By the time everything was done and the equipment was put away, it was dark and spitting rain. It would have been a great time to call it a day, but there was a big box that UPS left me in the shop that was calling me.
So I had to unpack and set up the new welder, gave it a quick test, which it passed effortlessly, and then called it a day.
Today will be a day in the shop at a very leisurely pace, there is nothing that “has” to be done today. I hope to clean up and organize the welding table, and put away the tools and clean up after rushing the speakers out the door.

It’s real food for thought watching the news and seeing the country being decimated by weather and fire, and I suppose even the fires are due to weather. With all of the technology we have, we can fly a drone on Mars, but we can’t really predict natural events, instead we only get to watch them unfold.

Some things we control, some are controlled for us.

I wonder how long it'll be before the real estate bubble pops, just like what's happening to lumber now.
Yeah, thankfully that didn't last long. 2x4x8's are back down to $2.98 at Lowes in Alexandria, Va. With my 10% Veterans discount that makes them affordable again.

How high the water momma.

Now 4.75”, but looks to be slowing down.

Read that a local school bus had water up to the windows, and kids sitting on the roof. All were rescued.

Mid 80’s with strong south finds and ominous clouds, a couple of showers is all we’ve seen.
Three tornado warnings nearby over the last couple of hours. One suspected of a touchdown west of us.

The only well known musicians I’ve ever met were Chet Adkins and our family friend Claymon Sawyer, who after leaving Nashville, started a music store in his hometown of Elizabeth City, NC. Chet would visit 2-3 times a year and they always had a jam session that was dynamite. Claymon died about twenty five years ago.

A side note, in about 1972 I had the good fortune of dropping off a Chicano friend I went to college with. They were a wealthy but down to earth family who owned a chain of large Enco stations. In his very large garage playroom, Carlos Santana and Buddy Miles were jamming with Edwin’s brother who was well known local guitarist. We got to watch them for about fifteen minutes before a car came for the two of them. I’m not easily impressed, but I was that Friday afternoon.

Want to add, that was a small town in the San Francisco Bay Area.

went to CVS, picked up a prescription after long wait in line, then off to brothers for a glass of wine, then rain really started to dump
so time to come home. Tornado alerts out. .66 rain so far, would have been much more if system had swung further to East, which it didn't.
Still expect about three inches of rain tonight. As long as power stays on, I don't care.

Toppop, watching Carlos Santana and Buddy Miles together must have been very, very special.

They were very talented but so were Claymon and Chet, they could do Roy Clark or Hendrix with equal aplomb.

Large tornado was on the ground for several miles near Hurlock, MD. Some of the video looked like Oklahoma.
