Good September one morning! Starting out to be a warmer month than August. 78˚F heading to near 100, lots of sun. We are getting dry, it does not seem fair, some of your guys get all the rain from Ida and all we get is the refugees.

Mom got her DL, no test of any kind just show up and a new pic every two years, unless you are Bird, then it's every 20 years. LOL.
We were the only ones in the DMV office that's open only two days a week, but the first thing that was asked for was proof of an appointment.

Lawn and Garden day and a pass day on the 3pm trail work when the temp will be near 100˚. These are the cedar limbs that need to be hauled to the mulcher along the trails that broke because of the weight of the snow and ice in February.

.

It’s beyond me why everything else is open and doing business as normal, but essential government offices still operate like this. I’m really surprised it’s happening in TX.

I saw Bela many years ago in NYC, amazing and he did talk to the audience a bit, but my memory fails me on what the conversations were.

68°F and drizzle this morning, going up to 82° today. Looks like highs may not get out of the 70s Friday and Saturday. I'm OK with that.

Mostly_, the Big Boy came through the STL area. Apparently according to their Facebook posts, several of my friends took the day off from work to go see it. An amazing piece of machinery to be sure, and nearly as amazing is the response it gets when they parade it around.

While I am decidedly NOT a fan of the banjo, Chris, I am a fan of the incredibly talented Bela Fleck. That guy is an amazing musician, and seems to have the ability to always surround himself with other amazing musicians.

Bela’s long time bassist, Victor Wooten is amazing as well.
Victor was an Ampeg endorser when I worked there. Had the privilege of speaking with him several times. He was always a really nice guy. Anytime he was near St. Louis, he would stop in and chat, mostly because he wanted to visit with one of our Service Department guys, Phil Burton, who is something of a St. Louis bass legend. Victor always managed to insert into the conversation, "Dude, why are you still here?" ... which was kind of a running theme with many famous artists who heard Phil play.

And yeah, Victor's triplet-slap-pops still vex me to this day. I know how he does it (he even showed me one day in slo-mo), yet I just can't do it.

Good morning to all! Low of 54, going up to the mid 80's. A much better chance of showers and T-storms today. Didn't get any rain the past few days. I hope to get just a little the next few days....

Drew, good job on the BIG picture frame!:D

Hope you Bucks Co guys don't get too much rain.... 2-5 inches is a lot!

Wng, hope you are able to get the roof done at a reasonable cost.

Roy, hope the adjuster is fair.... seems like they always try to save a buck when having to 'pay out'.

I can't trust the weather guessers, so the drip system will get a workout today. Also going to get the miscellaneous stockpiles of materials reorganized and consolidated.

Tomorrow will be a big day.... appt. with the ortho surgeon.... apparently going to get a bunch of range of motion tests on the knee. Maybe I can get an answer about the swelling. He may give me an MMI rating during this visit.

Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 6:30 AM. Sunny. High 87F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
Yesterday's high was 95F, I might have to wear a sweater today at only 87 F. Brrrrr!🥶

I wonder how long it'll be before the real estate bubble pops, just like what's happening to lumber now.

That's a pair to draw to, David!(y)

If I recall correctly, the defective shingles on my first home's roof were from Owens Corning, and had to be replaced after only 10 years. A law suit had been filed against them, and I was able to recoup some, but not all, of the cost from the proceeds.

Yesterday the National Forest managers in California shut everything down until the 17th, and the National Parks followed suit. So much for Labor Day campouts and such. I had plans to visit Sequoia National Park the next week, so now thinking about the Oregon coast. Cool fog seems to be calling.

grizzlyFrameScreenMounted.jpg

I had just finished the mounts for the screen on the grizzly when the neighbor texted that his grandpa wants to use his I-beam steel for fence posts. After getting the frame mounted, it's not going to be strong enough to withstand lifting the grizzly with the FEL, so today I'll see what kind of king's ransom the local steel warehouse wants for grizzly bars. Already emailed them a request for quote, but would be very surprised to get a reply.

Also read in the motorcycle club newsletter that the new board is considering revisions to one of the Canons to be more "inclusive". That Canon reads "Airheads ride Beemers with air cooled heads.", and it's the essential quality upon which the whole idea of the club was based. I sent email off this morning to the board (and copied the newsletter editor) suggesting that maybe they need to find a new club instead of trying to ruin this one.

Hope everyone's September gets off to a good start!
