Thanks for the welcome, guys. Been lurking for years--just don't post much, not much to say.
I look forward to reading the Good Morning thread every day. It is addictive like an old soap opera!

Kyle, is that steakhouse in Giddings? Out on 290 East?
I ate there once, salad bar and baked potato. It's on the North side of Hwy 290 just West of downtown (toward Austin).

Four rhododendrons and three azaleas weeded, pruned, soil sulphur and peat moss added, and then 2 1/2 gallons of water with two heaping tablespoons of Miracle Grow applied ... (y)

One more rhododendron and two more azaleas still left to go in that bed.

Good morning! 72 now and hazy.supposed to get to 86 later.

RNG & Kyle - I have not read Fluckly’s book, but have read a lot about his exploits aboard the Barb. The Barb has about 6 war patrols and had nothing to show for it. Under the command of Fluckly, it became one of the top scoring submarines of the Pacific Theater, first submarine to launch missiles in combat, and landed the only invasion of Japan to blow up a bridge with a train on it. The boat and crew had a bunch of decorations, but conspicuously absent was any Purple Hearts. Gonna have to find a copy of his book now.

Yesterday was just a go riding the bike day with no maps, no plan, no GPS. Just ride and didn’t even take very many pictures. Here are the pictures I took. Most of my ride was this type of views

Not sure I posted this, but this one is for Kyle, he will appreciate it

Got to go to the butcher shop and pick up 1/2 hog we are getting and put that away, then not sure what I will get into

Everyone stay safe out there
Looking fast! Thanks!

290 west, across the highway and west a few blocks from Bird's favorite peanut barns, that are closed now.

Holding out for Giddings. Already talked with DPS trooper and car insurance agency. As long as you keep the dated e-mail of your appointment it's a good defense to prosecution during these covid uncertain times.

My daughter is a nurse in Frisco. She was pulled to the non-ICU covid floor to help out (she's new). She said that vaccinated people are recovering 10x better. Everyone who is dying right now is unvaccinated. I am not a fan of the government forcing vaccinations, but do yourself and your family a favor and get it done (unless you have a medical reason why not). I don't want to lose my source of tractor knowledge. So if you don't want o do it for yourself or your family, get it done for us tractor noobs that need you. ;)

65° right now...high in the low 80's today...

Last day of the audit...2 minors, one of which we'll appeal when the time comes...
Get my 2nd Covid shot this afternoon, then home to clean off the rear seat of the truck for our new girl, Margeaux. Hope this 2nd shot doesn't put me down for a day, as it had with some folks

I had a bad allergy attack today. Couldn't stop sneezing. Took Zurtec but it did nothing so took another a bit later. Settled down and then came back so finished up going to bed and slept most of the afternoon. Feeling a bit better but very tired. Had dinner and used my new dental plates for the first time. Bit weird.
I did manage to fit a dashcam in the Mustang this morning. It was pretty straight forward. Almost a must have nowadays.
7.00 pm and sneezes are back damn it.
Most covid restrictions lifted in Queensland as no new cases emerging.

good morning all.
forecast shows showers and storms this afternoon but nothing yet on radar.
Going to mow the lawn this morning and then this afternoon finally hang some pictures inside I have
been procrastinating with, mostly because I couldn't figure out how to use the unusual hanging hardware that came with the pics.

feel pretty good this morning so I guess I can say third Moderna shot was a piece of cake, sore arm but nothing else, easier than second shot.

hope you all have a great day.

need some carpentry help here.
new garden shed dimensions are 84 inches deep by 85.5 inches wide.
I have four 96 inch 4x4's to join together to make a picture frame base, and will fill in the
inside with packed gravel.

probably making this more difficult than it is, but what lengths do I cut the boards and is there a smarter/better way
of lining up the ends? I have several types of inside corner brackets and top mending plates to hold it all together.
My first instinct here is to cut the front and rear boards to 85.5 and then adjust the other two boards to fit. Easy solution is making
that lumber 3 3/4" shorter since I doubt a 4x4 is actually 4 inches any more. Is it that simple?
wondering if there is a trick of the trade here...

Coffee is brewing. 70° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 84° with a good chance of thunderstorms. Sassy looks good with her new hair doo. Visited friends in afternoon. Did not get grocery shopping done. Back on list today.

Mostly, congrats on birth of GGD.

Don, I drove on an expired driver License for 3 months last year. Luckily was never stopped and checked.

Rich, great ride pictures.

Ken, flower may be a Knapweed. I have a lot of them in my field this year.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

   / Good morning!!!! #137,640
Daugen a 4x4 should be 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 so if you cut the front boards at 85.5 so by my calcs the others would be 77 inches to get your 84 total?
