92 is forecast. 71 now and just stopped raining...a popup T-storm with no T...got under 0.2, but much appreciated.

Buppies, that's dehydration...not good. I walked 6.5 miles during the morning, half in the shady forest, and drank a lot, and still felt I needed more. I saw an article recently that showed at what temp/humidity levels that you cannot drink enough to make up for the loss, even if just sitting. Need lots of breaks.

Ron, thanks for the close up of the hummer.

Might go with wife for a run into town/Costco/Tex-Mex or calzones before the PM predicted storm hits.

Wife made a real tasty casserole with some of our recently picked Roma tomatoes, squash, zuccini, a bit of chicken and cheese. Son came by to bring us cucumbers from his garden, take some squash and tomatoes...said our peppers were too hot for him.

Good news Roy!

I found out my carport promised for September back in June, is now scheduled for February. I checked around and found that’s pretty much the norm now. I think I’ll cancel and build a pole building.
Sorry for the delay.
I know a good roofer (Thomas) 😁 .

good morning all
71 in Milton DE going up to high 80's today in rain all this afternoon and evening.
Had a delightful night last night at concert, the Funsters were playing, 9 piece band that was like their name fun to listen to. But thank goodness I brought my noise cancelling headphones or I could never have stayed there, music was surprisingly loud for a concert held downtown around a residential area but this has been a Wednesday night summer deal for many years here. I took a pic on my phone but don't have the cable to upload it, left that home.

Part of that tradition seems to be some YMCA style arm waving to Sweet Caroline. I had never seen than before but then this was the first live concert I've seen in 30 years.

Last night made up my mind about getting hearing aids. Time to stop procrastinating and find out if anything helps.

Should be a quiet day, my hosts don't get up to close to 9am. All our lives I've been the morning person, up early while they stay up to midnight every night, last night we watched the Olympics.
I thought the synchronized diving was fun to watch, amazing talent.

Got a notice, from the insurance co., that they will no longer cover bodily injury or property damage caused by specific breeds of dogs:
Akita
Cane Corso
Chow Chow
Doberman
Dogo Argentino
Mastiff
Pit Bull
Presa Canario
Rottweiler
Staffordshire Terrier (all)
Wolf or Wolf Hybrids
trained guard or attack dogs
Animals with a history of biting
Or any animal deemed dangerous, vicious, or potentially dangerous under state statue.
I got an email from Orvis recently that has a 13 question interview that matches breeds to your lifestyle. It was pretty good. I don't even think a couple of these were on their list, but I plan to go back and look.

where there's a will there's a way...
emailed the pic to myself
this was the largest crowd for this event in memory, over 400 people there, all orderly and fun, mostly seniors and families with lots of little kids, who played on the extensive jungle gym setup while the parents listened to music.

this pic was taken just as we got there, place filled up a lot more and folks were sitting in lawns and outdoor restaurants for quite a ways listening to the music.
This was fun and makes me appreciate being with lots of folks in a reasonably safe setting.

Good morning.
It’s 68 with a forecast high of 75 with rain and thunderstorms likely throughout the day.

Yesterday was an easy day, time in hangar was not too hot, made good progress, got to a point where I needed another set of arms, so that will wait until today or tomorrow.

This morning a friend is coming over with some axles for me to press the old bearings off and new ones on. Possibly an AC service call after that and then a trip to Nantucket this afternoon. That should pretty much keep me busy for the day.

Looked like a well attended concert Drew. I’m surprised it was that loud that far from the stage, or were you closer than where the picture was taken from?

74F at 7 AM going to the high 90s. Was hot all day yesterday then a few rain storms made up around 5pm. We did not get much rain but a little west was heavy.
Ron, good picture of the hummingbird.

Good Morning!!!! 80F @ 5:30AM. Lots of sunshine. Hot. High 104F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Gonna be another hot one, but at least there's a chance the wind, once it comes up, might blow the smoke away. Right now the air quality is at a Hazardous 178 PPM.

Those hummers don't sit still for very long, do they, Ron.

Too smoky to get much of anything done outside yesterday, still no word back on the Ethernet extender. I'll request an RMA today and sent it back, then try another brand.

Need to touch base with the neighbor with the water truck to get some hauling done this weekend. Got a few minutes of run time out of the well pump yesterday, but the hole stayed dry for the rest of the afternoon. The well has never been much of a producer, but I never thought it would go completely dry. But looking at how low the adjacent reservoir has gotten, it shouldn't come as a surprise. It's down to barely a trickle in spots where in full years it's 250' deep.

It was too smoky to see it, but yesterday morning a truck hauling a trailer caught fire right across the canyon from here. It was quickly dowsed, so there was no spread to the roadside vegetation. Thank goodness for a nearby fire station and a passing tanker truck.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

yes it was loud, surprisingly lots of bass that far back, I never walked up front but looks like at least some of the speakers were JBL.

when I took my headphones off to go to the super yukky portapotty, the noise was overwhelming.
Phones back on, all was well. Just shows how messed up my ears are.

79-85 today, mostly cloudy and a slight chance of a shower.
My birthday is Monday and we planned a Rather large cookout/outdoor event for Sunday. Now it’s supposed to rain, not sure what to do about it, probably put up several our pop up tents and carry on.

Drew, you’re an hour up the road from me. Too bad neither of us has time to get together this trip. But we will do it again soon.

Father in law is having catheter issues this morning, so we’re trying to get that resolved. When we get old it’s always something.

I hope everyone feels great and has a good day.

Hard to complete with Ron’s hummingbird pic this morning.
I had to do a little tractor work in the gardens this morning and got this pic. I figured if I can’t get a better foreground I’ll have to get a better background pic.

When I started the tractor to take off the brake would not release. I finally had an aha moment and figured it out and fixed it. Here is the pic, can you figure out how I fixed the braking problem?

Good morning. Lovely day here, not much wind and set to go no higher than a very pleasant 24C/75F.

Back home today after a trip to Yorkshire to see our son and girlfriend. It was good too to catch with friends too on the other side of the Pennine hills without any Covid restrictions.

That's sick Pop - but quite funny too ! :)
I meant to ask, did you get any Yorkshire pudding whilst there?

/ Good morning!!!! #136,278
Mostly, hope computer gets fixed
Ron and Don, both nice pics hummer vs the butterfly.
Oosik, weather yackers say we could see some tornados today.
Wngsprd, thanks for channel, not sure I get it but will have to check.
Drew, “Listen to the music, all the time”. Looks like a fun time.

Went from work to church meeting last night, but only 1 other showed up, so no meeting.
I used the time to get new version of office loaded on the new laptop I bought for showing our music. Old laptop having video issues. Also updated the streaming software to latest version. Got everything working.

Leaving for work this morning I stopped at RV to make sure fridge was getting cold. Forgot I had not finished awning job, so quickly took the wood poles down, cut wire ties holding the awning arms closed, connected power wire to motor, and pulled awning in tight. Then remembered I never put the bolts back in, so did that. Made sure everything was aligned and put set screws in. Then realized I left the wire in the hole holding the spring, but pulling in awning broke wire right off. So ran awning out as far as I could with the shed there, ran it back in and it looks to be good.

I still need to put a couple rivets back in, one more at each end.

Made me a little late leaving for work. I still need to put fender cover on one side, I took it off to plastic weld a crack, never got that done, so will just put it back on. Hope to get it hitched to truck tonight if not storming. Just going for the weekend close by in Gettysburg.
