Yes probably. I have sandstone rock here in places. It does break up OK but there are some big ones buried. They can usually be dug out OK. I would do a empty run first to check for rock and then go over it the second time with the pipe. A backhoe is much more applicable in your case. Still a massive job though. I will be needing to run several irrigation pipes eventually and 1 electric cable which I will feed through the poly pipe. Tree stumps are more of a concern for me. I keep finding them under the topsoil everywhere but this thing can be used to break roots too. Just remove the pipe feeder.View attachment 704971
I envy your soil, Doug! There are more rocks in the ground here than there is dirt. This little pile came out of that last two feet nearest the tank. That tool is a good idea, but I don't think it would last very long here. Besides, the trench will hold 1 @ 2" water pipe, 1 @ 1" water pipe, and 1 @ 1" electrical conduit. Would you have to make three passes with that thing?
