Good Morning!!!! 63F @ 6:45AM. Sunny. High 99F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Good Morning, Kira, welcome to the GM thread!

That Delta varient is bad news, Don, but this article sez that the Moderna vaccine is effective against it. Hope the others are, too.

How many bike miles are you up to now, Bruce? Are you on track to break any records?

Just read a plea from someone on Facebook asking boaters to slow down when approaching kayaks, Paul. She said she'd already been swamped multiple times, dragged down by an anchor rope once and nearly drowned. Be careful out there on the water!

Finished getting the first layer of sand in the trench yesterday. Had to clean the spoils off the upper leg of the trench first, though. And probably need to move them back from the rest of the trench today so that the pipe doesn't drag rocks into the trench when I try to install it. That 2" stuff is pretty stiff, and it's gonna be like wrestling a giant snake to get it in there.

Welcome Kira, nice to have you here. Most of us have learned a lot about nutrition just by reading this thread over the years.
welcome email from JD dealer, my X390 is built and shipped, and should be in to dealer I'm guessing end of week.

One down. Now for my truck and stove...

Drew- you want some figs?

Ken, thank you. I've never liked them even through I had three fig trees in NC because others liked them.
supersweet banana consistency, seems to me to make the most sense as a sweetening ingredient in healthy cooking/baking.
Anything to avoid white sugar.

went to local farm market and got some peaches. They sure smelled good but were still a little hard. Bought an extra little bag, five peaches for 7 bucks, to
take to PT this afternoon. I spoke with farm market owner, she knows I had an orchard in NC and we have lots to chat about. She's not full organic, close, but apparently
not everything she uses is OMRI listed. Her apples are absolutely gorgeous, huge, crunchy, sweet and dribble down your chin juicy. I could only dream about growing
apples that nice.
Several large gardens there full of cutting flowers,
cut your own area really looked pretty right now. They had their own blueberries that looked nice, expensive at 7 bucks a pint, but I already stocked up on NJ blueberries at supermarket
on a 2 for 1. I try to eat as many blueberries as possible, really think that they have good health benefits. And when they go on sale, blackberries.
NC blueberries did not have the fuller flavor of NJ blueberries. Of course how much rain they got in the weeks prior to picking has a lot to do with it. Too much rain and the
berries are fat and watery.

We've been out on that lake a few times now, and this was the first time we've encountered inconsiderate boaters there. Most were fishing boats trying to get to their spot as quickly as possible. They were staying in the main channel, but their wakes were not. One was a pontoon boat whose pilot was apparently trying to see just how fast it would go, and was doing zoomies around the lake. Holidays bring out that crowd, unfortunately.

It's a known hazard when you're the smallest craft on the water. Kind of goes with the territory. Just point it into the wake and ride them out.

Now, someone getting close enough to swamp another boater or drag them with a rope, ...don't get me started. There's someone who needs an attitude adjustment.

Feels like it is going to be hot. I'm thinking of washing the truck as my plan to let the rain clean it isn't working out. It just keeps getting dirtier.

Last week I worked on the old Woods finish mower to find out what the clicking sound was. Turns out that the spindle housing was cracked where it attached to the deck. Note to self: stop hitting stumps. I could have just tightened up the 2 bolts that were still attached but I decided to do the right thing. You can say what you will about hoarders but that old mower carcass in the back of the barn has come in handy for parts. It felt like a miracle that that I got everything apart and put back together. The old rusty blade on the new/old spindle was actually better than the one on the mower.

The barley that was looking good this spring turns out to be wheat (city boy) and is harvested. I think they planted soybeans.

The back of the farm is a power line right of way. The power company was replacing the wood poles with rust colored steel poles. That all stopped when the pandemic hit. Looks it is starting back up. There is a tracked skid steer with a forestry mulcher back there. They have cleared a wide track. Amazing what that thing does to the old steel pole anchors and the property line markers. I'm going to have to do some cleaning up before I mow again. Too bad they didn't leave the keys in that thing I could have put it to use. I see a roller and an excavator up by the road. I am hoping that they are going to improve the track. It gets pretty swampy down by the creek.

Most of us don't think much about health until face issues. And I'm no exception. When I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, I was ready to eat and drink anything to solve the problem. But unfortunately, there is no cure. Yes, I'm on tecfidera and it works for me, but it only slows the process down. And of course, I read much about this disease. The latest research proved that certain probiotics can improve gut bacteria in people with MS. Now I have to avoid certain foods like processed meats, refined carbs, junk foods, trans fats, and sugar-sweetened beverages. I don't eat red meat now, though I loved burgers and ate them all my life. To be honest, if I could change something in the past, it would be my nutrition.
Good to see someone else making the connection between nutrition and disease and actually taking action. Sounds like you are keeping up on the research. I have a niece that has MS also and I keep sending my brother info but it falls on deaf ears. I suspect you have already seen this but I'll include the link anyways, it does reference a lot of studies as sources. +2 on changing nutrition in the past.

Oh I forgot. The results of the quarter finals H&F Card Club came in last night and I did manage to hold on to the #1 position (out of 40 players). Very surprised!
9 weeks - 27 win games out of 45 games played.
I thought I was doomed last week because I had only won 2 of 5 games but everyone right below me also had a bad week.
I started the second quarter on a good takeoff with 4 wins and 1 loss last night.

Hoping David wasn't adversely affected by the earthquake out there yesterday.

Good afternoon all. Unusually windy here, at the speed the dark clouds are passing over it is difficult to judge a gap long enough to do much outside without getting a soak. Nice and dry though in a tractor cab.

Pennwalk, hope you don't get caught hotwiring the power company equipment !

69°F and 1.19 inches rain.

Good thing mowing is caught up for a few days.
Should have a couple items to pick up at PO this morning, including the thermocouple for the oven pilot. Be nice to get the oven back, not that using the Weber grill and air fryer have been a hardship.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
