77 now, got to 90 today.
Tomorrow is our second anniversary,
so we went to Red Lobster for an early dinner. I hadn’t been there in years, not what it use to be. Food I got was okay but menu was very limited, now they sell hamburgers and chicken.
Finished some more stone work today. Now I’ve got to do something about that old lattice. I think we are going to end up using the 30” vinyl fencing for the decks, not sure about the tractor shed.
We still have two more areas to stone.

Good evening! Still 83 here.

did some stuff in the garden this morning. Then decided to tackle rebuilding the steering on the one Craftsman garden tractor. Took far long than I thought. Seems the PO had made an aluminum bushing out of soft material for the sector shaft instead of the correct bushings. The aluminum tube was mushroomed and was a bear to remove. With all new bushings and sector shaft, it steers quite good. Sharpened the blades and gave the deck a good cleaning too.

Then made a base gasket for the Bultaco race bike. You can’t buy base gaskets that are even close to correct. Just have to tweak the new gasket around the case counterbores for the O-rings that are being added to better seal the cylinder studs.

Will find out how my Covid anti-bodies are hanging in there in a couple of weeks. Got a follow up appointment and getting tested again. They we’re still robust in May.

Everyone stay safe out there!

Good Day from smokey BC, stay safe out there - fire risk and temperatures are both high. Managing as best we can. Storming anticipated tonight, strange times.

81F and clear @ 21:30, headed down to a low of 70F for the overnight. High hit 90F. Attic fan just shut off.

To my surprise The Woman wanted to get out there and get the rest of the hosta planted, which she did (after very careful cleaning of the roots of anything she deemed might be that invasive shrub)

While she was doing that I worked on digging up more dirt from the pile up by the gas well, hauling it down to the south side of the pole barn, dumping it, and then running over it to compact it. I got deep enough into the pile of dirt that I've started to run into the tunnels of the ground hog burrow. Apparently hit a couple of food storehouses from the looks of it.

I took a break every so often to fill the watering can for her as she worked. This little guy keeps showing up on the watering can ... apparently likes the moisture:

When she finished up there, we came down to the house and hung up the string for her sweet potato vines. She apparently has a dahlia right there that she planted as well, that will be incorporated into this rigging.

Then I started the charcoal and we grilled up some burgers and zucchini, yellow squash, and onions:

After dinner we went out and watered the garden. Groundhog is becoming a little problematic and will have to be dealt with, one way or another.

I sat for a little while watching the mother bluebird bringing food for her young ones before I filled the hopper feeder and came on in.

Still have to run the trash up to the road before I call it a day.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

The weather folks yesterday blamed the “haze” in St. Louis on the fires in BC.

So, your fires must be something. Hope it gets better soon.

WOW -
well, the mountain right behind our property was not visible the other day,

and one town about 2 hrs away was essentially wiped out over Thurs - Fri, with 90 % devastation and full evacuation. Railway cars were thought to be the cause

64° right now...high in the mid-80's...maybe some rain or thunderstorms

Mowing's done, weed trimming almost done...

Those Sony noise cancelling headphones don't work so well. I used them when mowing and the noise cancelling would shut off after a bit. Maybe due to a rough ride on the mower, but they're pretty much useless for me

Poured first cup of coffee. 75° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 87° with thunderstorms in afternoon. Got last coat of paint and varnish on table and chairs yesterday. Will start putting it back together today. After dew dried off and before it got to hot yesterday. Mowed grass in backyard. Stayed in cool house after that.
Yesterday sunrise.

Don, while I enjoyed the parade. The only picture I got was the one I posted. First time I have been in a parade. I missed all the excitement of seeing rest of the parade.

PJ, great kayak picture.

Thomas, been many years since I had a good popsicle.

Ken, great pictures.

Kyle, neat picture.

Scaredy, hope fires stay away for you.

Randy, place looks nice. Happy Anniversary to you and Ellen.

Rich, I am surprised steering did not freeze up with aluminum bushing.

Buckeye, safe travels today.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
Happy Anniversary Toppop. (y)
going to be a mighty hot day today, HI well into 100's.

really like the pic of the rodeo rider, truly an American scene.

quite the pics of Ocean City MD's entire fireworks display going off like a bomb on the beach, too bad, real waste of money and hope
no one got hurt. Anyone here been near fireworks that went off very badly?

Roy, that is exactly what my Sony headphone did too, turns off after five minutes no matter how much I charge it. Are we doing something wrong?

Happy belated Birthday to your son wngsprd, Haapy Anniversary Toppop

Enjoying the coast for a few days with my wife

Prayers for all

Buppies, may the shore breezes heal your body and raise your spirits.

72 degrees about to jump into 90's when the sun comes fully up.

I don't think we're doing anything wrong, but maybe other users on TBN can provide some info.
I make all the settings per the manual, start mowing and then maybe 10-15 minutes later, the mower's noise comes through
The Ambient Noise and the Noise Cancelling button are the same...just different ends of the button. I think that may be the problem...
Anyway, I don't need bluetooth and an ambient noise selection, so these go back to Amazon. Frankly, I'm probably better off with a plain jane sound attenuator headset with no electronics

69 headed to 95.

Happy Anniversary Ellen and Top!

Buppies, enjoy that beach!

PJ, we usually kayak on whitewater rivers...we found many where we could paddle up stream against the current, portage over the rapids, have a picnic, then ride the current and rapids back. But when we'd go to the lake, we'd look for smaller coves to avoid the big boat wake...our local lake has many no wake zones, too. your trip looked like fun.

Kyle, the rodeo looks like fun, too.

Good Morning.
70 and going to the 90’s today.

Yesterday was a warm one as well, turns out that the trip to Parkersburg was to pick up about 6 antique spinning wheels. I can only begin to guess what they must have been worth, considering the cost of transportation.
I was successful in getting the plane out of the airport before it closed, but it was because we started it by throwing the propeller, not because it was fixed. It was a long day, by the time I got home, I never made it into the shop, never got the speaker that is all packed up to FedEx, or even eat dinner, but that was because my “lunch” was a BK burger at 5pm.

Today will be catching up in the shop and a trip to FedEx first thing.

I have had great luck with the Bose “Quiet Comfort” noise cancelling headphones. I’m on the third generation, and the first two still work fine, my kids use them now. They are excellent for use while mowing. Admittedly not the cheapest solution, but good tools rarely are. While Bose didn’t invent the concept, they were the first to make it commercially available in the late 80’s, and have been improving on it ever since. To be clear, I’m not a fan of any other Bose product line, but they are the clear leaders in noise cancelling headphones.
