Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 5:45AM. Abundant sunshine. High near 100F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Looks like another Groundhog Day weather wise.

Almost finished the trench leg up the hill, but the bucket ran out of sand with about 10' left. It was lunch time anyway, and at 90F, that was it for the day. Siesta nap, watched The 15:17 to Paris movie, a true salute to heros if there ever was one. Rested up watching Joe Kid after dinner, no fireworks here.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Good morning! 75˚F heading to the mid 80s with afternoon showers. It's like Hawaii with all the rain.
Ron, more parade pics if you have them!

Our neighborhood 4th of July golf cart parade came by the house when I was walking Whipper on the trail but I did see them heading into another section but did not get a pic.

Walking Whipper on the trail we saw the effects of a quick downpour a few minutes before. The trail passes by a "Y" as two creeks join and the leg of one creek got all the rain and the creek that crosses the trail was running backwards. The water level was rising a foot a minute!

Whipper got a third walk in the evening by some neighbors house where a party was going on and all were singing "Sweet Caroline" - baa, baa baa, as everyone joined in, even Whipper.

Fireworks from the surrounding neighborhood outside ours continued till midnight.

Kyle, Camp Tejas was a supper spreader event with all those unvaccinated kids, over a fourth came down with covid, so far.
Make sure you get some pics of the cut grass and bales on the ground for the tax office.

I ordered Mom a Powerlix knee compression sleeve, after it really helped my knee, hope it works for her also.

The second order, the arctic cooler, is going back. I wasn't expecting much from the "as seen on TV" A/C but was hoping it would keep the garage from getting too hot. It did not and it was noisy. I never expected it to cool the garage but the temp just kept rising even with the thermometer right by it.

Good morning, Sunny and hot, hope everyone had a good fourth.
No rain forecast for yesterday, so of course it rained at around 4pm when we went down to the pool for a swim.
We did get some pool time though, and did a movie night outside.

Someone set off fireworks at 3am- wow was that obnoxious.

Saw a new Mustang Mach-e in town yesterday, not sure what to think of the looks.

Buppies-hope your hand gets better soon.

Drew- how did lobster surprise go? And have seen your brothers car around town, very nice!

David-glad you got the flail back together. After your issue I went and checked the bolts on mine.

Car in shop, everything they fix seems to have "faulty" parts. New radiator (under warranty) and new brake caliper (under warranty, but labor for radiator is going to be approx $500.
I have brought it in three times for brake issues and three times for radiator/waterpump/hose issues.
Time to find a new garage.....

Stay safe and be well.

In town by playhouse (old mill), we see this blue heron hunting all the time. Caught 2 fish while we watched.

68°F and .09 inches rain morning showers forecast.

Not sure what I’ll get into today. I did tell Sophie I’d give the dogs’ area a trim. It is still a holiday so maybe energy conservation.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

87F and sunny, HI 95. Headed up to a high of 91F. Attic fan started running pretty early today. Today and tomorrow promise to be a little rude, heat wise.

More than likely limited activity outside today, but we'll see.

Checking feeders on menu, along with cleaning out sparrow trap and nest boxes.

Cut board for bottom shelf on Woman's planter stand, maybe cut some 2 x 4's for saw horse legs and get next set of saw horses put together.

Adjust throw on sprinkler heads.

For seat time, may continue working on filling in the area just south of the barn and leveling that out.

Also might do some spraying.

Some more pics of Woman's flowers:

She wants (me) to get the strings put up for sweet potato vines to climb which I have agreed to do ... but not until the area is in shade later today.

Doubtful that any further work on hosta planting will happen today ... but we'll see ... ;)

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Monday.

finished one of the two entry handrails. Weather was nice for getting multiple coats of urethane spar varnish on.
Now to patch a few holes where that fibbing stud detector swore I'd find wood.

64°F and clear skies this morning, got up to 88° today. Was supposed to hit 91°. Small victories, I guess.

We ended up loading the kayaks yesterday around midday and going to Silver Lake in Highland for a short paddle. We were out on the water for about 2-1/2 hours, just paddling around the main section of the lake. Lots of power boats out there yesterday, and only one of them (a large pontoon) was remotely considerate of the affects of their wakes on small boats. We saw another couple in kayaks out there, too, just ahead of us in the picture.

Spent the evening at home, then sat out on the front porch around 9pm to enjoy the fireworks shows of three of our neighbors. Two of them were quite impressive.

Today was largely an indoor stuff day. Wife ran off to do a couple of trainings over in Missouri this afternoon, so I ran into town to make a financial donation to that struggling Walton family business, picking up a bunch of random stuff we have been forgetting. On my way there, I noticed that a farmer a couple miles north of us had baled his wheat straw with rather patriotic netting. That was a nice surprise. I had to pull over and take a picture.

Nice pictures, gents. Hope everyone has had a safe and enjoyable holiday celebration.

64 going to 90.

Thanks for sharing your great Independence Day pix and stories. We had 2 sons + wives and my MIL here...great brunch, cornhole and birthday celebration for one son that's tomorrow...then I grilled turkey burgers, since they won the vote, and grilled mixed vegetables. We ate our first tomato from the garden, and some jalapenos from the garden.
Happy Birthday to the birthday Son!

Gitcha an onion and some garlic and you've got salsa.

Yes Don, but I'm wondering how so many kids got it? have they not already been exposed? How have they avoided it thus far? Have they been in individual caves since 2019? They are saying the antibodies are as good as the shots....(maybe better IMO).
