Good morning!!!!

Good morning, low temp 41 and high 61F. A bit cooler. Wind 15 gusting to 24 mph. Showers.

I had one ceiling fan crap out on me the other day and the one in my man cave is making a rhythmic clicking sound on high speed. That is why I am replacing both of them.

I guess I know why we don't have any cicadas up here, too many pine trees and no copperheads to eat them. Lots of wild turkey though, mostly found in the liquor store. :ROFLMAO:

Nice pair of red tails, Ron.

Today I will get up to something, just don't know what at this stage of the day.

Have a safe day all

Well Bill, not to worry, I'm getting plenty of bugs for everyone.
Front flower beds were kind of creepy, a few live ones crawling on top of the mulch
and casings everywhere. The buzzing should start tonight.

Have to admit when I first saw that tractor I instantly regretted not responding to the email. That said, I’m very pleased that my friend John did get it. He needs it more than I do. But, if having a tractor is good, having 2 is twice as good.
Having two tractors also means you'll be having twice the maintenance to do, and twice the repairs, too. That may be some consolation for you, David. I for one am very happy to be back to only one tractor.

Don, Google paid the vaccine makers to include the nano technology so they could track people better and make their ads more relevant. People should do their part to make internet commerce better.

77 now, 91 later. Started overcast but cleared nicely. Only supposed to get to 68 tomorrow with easterly winds and some rain, we need the water. I haven’t started seeing cicadas yet, or jar flys as we called them in NC. I thought I heard one but I think it’s just tinnitus. We might be a little east of the main infestation belt. We slept late and didn’t go to church today, I always feel guilty.
We had company until late, I started to Quote Andy Capp, if you’re sitting up with me, I’m better!
I don’t see me doing much today.
Have a good Sunday.

Good afternoon, apart from the weather things seem to be finally returning to normal. This latest relaxation in Covid rules have allowed our son and his girlfriend to come and stay with us for the weekend for the first time in over a year. I even managed to get hold of a couple of hundred Berger bullets for reloading too on Friday.

Great pic again Ron.

Sodamo, nice work using up the scraps on that end wall. One of the joys of not having to work at a "professional's" pace :)

79F and partly cloudy @ 10:00, headed up to a high of 86F ... but I bet we beat it. 40% chance of thunderstorms this evening.

Got birdbath cleaned out and refilled, it was dry. Located one suet feeder, couldn't see the other one so it's MIA. Refilled hopper feeder, sunflower tube feeders about due today.

Finished up mowing on the west side down here around the house. Did some further trimming of low-hanging branches. Also loaded up sticks and debris into the dump cart The Woman had collected previously and took them up to the burn pile.

After that I worked on filling in and regrading the area with all the large exposed maple roots over by the northeast planting bed. Still needs more work though. Going over here in a bit to pick up our 3' rake from a friend I loaned it to, will hopefully get that finished up and seeded today.

Going to borrow his tow-behind spreader and get at least of these soil amendments put down today before it rains. Kinda getting tired of having the two pallets setting out front.

Front also needs mowed. Will get more gas while I'm out.

Finished up yesterday by weeding around one rhododendron and one azalea in the northeast planting bed. Need to work the dirt around both and add a little more peat moss and then mulch them so I can avoid most of the weeding from here on out.

Hope that everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Sunday ... (y)

Good morning all. On my 2nd cup of coffee, with bacon and eggs cooking away.

Will be a nice day today, and it is time to mow the lawn at the rental cottage. My friend who gave me my riding mower put the belt back on that had come off, for now the third time. Will also be busy with the cleanup of the two buildings, and more dirt work.

Black flies and mosquitoes are here, so each evening when we are done we sit inside the screened porch for our evening drink. We have a couple of those portable gazebos over here at our place, and we may set them up today.

I might also get some more dirt out of the floor of the boat house, in preparation for putting in new beams and floorboards on a section where they have rotted away.

Meanwhile, there are still 13 holes in the floor of the barn, but one of them seems to have been chewed a bit bigger. (Anyone remember that thread? I think I have updated pictures that I can post over there.)

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!

Well, most of the work is done...
After spraying PB Blaster on that driveshaft, it can apart easily and after greasing it up, rigged it on the mower and tractor. Also greased the mower zerks.
I'd forgotten the fenced in backyard when I mowed yesterday so, did that, dropped a few branches that were hitting the tractor cab...not enough to rig the chipper though. Then did the string trimming...
Although I enjoy having acreage and a big lawn...sometimes it seems like a lot of work for this old man. But, I know I'd soon hate any smaller property.
Since I got the driveshaft on the flail mower and, it was still pretty early, figured I'd mow the field. The grasses are about 2' tall and any peepers have moved on. I mowed as I went down the road to the field and started mowing the periphery, smelled hot rubber about halfway around...noticed the mower wasn't cutting/mulching. Must have jammed the drive belt somehow. The cover (of the belts) was pretty hot and I could see charred rubber on the housing vents.
Well, that was enough for today, I reckon.
