During the last major cicada cycle in Northern Virginia I was still employed as a senior scientist at Fort Belvoir, just south of Washington DC. They were THICK. Some of the female scientists were rather surprised because I had a tendency to pick the cicadas off my shirt and eat them.

As I've written several times before, around here my cousins solution for the electric fence/deer combo is (with the power off) run a thin coating of peanut butter over the fence wire. He just dips his fingers in PB and runs the wire between his fingers. Turn fence on, deer lick wire, deer learn quick.<snip> It'll be warm enough later that the deer will try to test it, so we'll see what happens. One of the security cams looks right at it, so I might have some video to share later...
