   / Good morning!!!! #132,902
Had a pretty productive day. Finished mowing the yard. I've been dodging rain storms the past couple weeks.... then found a slash in the sidewall of one of the front tires on the zero turn.

So needless to say the yard needed to be hayed this weekend

Ordered a set of solid core front tires for the mower. No more checking/ adding air to the front tires. Tires came in Thursday. Installed them Thursday, mowed Friday night after work.

Finished up weedeating this morning. Push mowed about 800' of ditch. Then took my wife to a crab boil at our sons house for mothers day.

Got to spend some time with our new grandson as well. He likes his poppy

And plastic.

My 2nd tractor might have been green if the salesman would have come out of his office to help me. This was in 2004.

Then I got an over the phone price from a new Holland dealer, went to buy and they gave me a higher price, so didn’t buy from them.
Ended up with my first of 4 kubota’s.

Waiting for first cup of coffee to cool. 31° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 57° with mostly sunny skies. Did not make it to sons place yesterday. Had upset stomach most of the day. When it warms enough going to work on pulling weeds today.
Yesterday's sunrise.

wonderful pic Ron, sky is on fire.
Nice pic of zebras too Mostly.
Buckeye, nice mow job, always a little sad mowing the pretty flowers but if you don't it will be a jungle out there.

48 going to mid sixties today in clouds, .19 rain last night.

I put some CBD oil on my shoulder, nothing to lose, but didn't do much...

hummingbirds not coming to my two new feeders. We got an inch of rain since I put them up, wondering if rain will dilute
the mix and make it less tasty.

56 high oh 67 later rain showers thru mid day

prayers for all L4N DIL, LS knee, mostly wife, Toppop, Drew, Kyle and his family, our.Country

Good morning, low 33, high 52°F. Wind NE 6 mph. 60% chance of rain/snow showers.

I am not sure what I will get up to today, but rest assured it wont be much.

Up here the Kubota dealers think their equipment is made of gold. That is why I bought Kioti. $10,000.oo difference in price for the same stuff. Loader, cab and front mount blower from Kubota $42,000.oo. Same thing from Kioti $31,000.oo. Although the Kioti seat is too small and hard to be comfortable, the loader control lever is in a better position for my shoulder. I like the one pedal rocker for the hydrostatic drive.

Interesting sunrise, Ron. Did you get any rain?

Have a safe day all

Good Morning
45 with a high of 60 for today. Mostly clear skies.

Yesterday’s trip consumed the whole day, I accomplished nothing else. Pretty sure that I get to stay put for the next two weeks now, so hopefully I’ll get back to being productive.

a little early in the day to think about a chicken fried ribeye steak but sure sounds like a yummy treat.
Eat three and get a heart stent for free...
Anyone been to the Cabernet Grill in Fredericksburg TX?

Good Morning All.
Red sky at night, sailor's delight
Red sky in morning, sailor's take warning

Supposedly, a red sky in the morning indicates a change in the weather...

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 4:45AM. Abundant sunshine. High 93F. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph.
Still under a Red Flag Warning, which has now been extended through Tuesday.

Was up outside early to try to see a string of StarLink satellites. Another 60 went into orbit yesterday, but there was enough light pollution that they weren't visible. Checking the coverage map, there are still gaps, so it'll still be a while before StarLink comes to town around here.

Beautiful sunrise, Ron. Thanks for sharing.

The TOSRV route was 105 miles each way back when I was riding it, Bruce. I understand it's changed over the years as "improvements" have been made to the sleepy country roads it took back then. One year I hooked up with a fast pack of riders and made the trip in a little over 5 hours. I think all I saw was the back wheel of the guy in front of me...

That's why I bought a low hours used Kubota, Bill. Their implementation of the hydrostatic transmission with the one rocker pedal is hard to do without once you get used to it.

Hope your shoulder feels better soon, Drew, but there's nothing wrong with your green thumb!

Sounds like something is wrong with the unloader valve on your Speedair, Kyle.

That was the first time I had a pizza pie not weld itself to the pan, Don. I've tried corn meal, olive oil, and a teflon coated cookie sheet, and none of them were stick free. The Pam worked great, but I sprayed several seconds worth of it on there. I have a silicon sheet and a silicon covered rolling pin, and the dough sticks to both of them like glue, even when I dust it with flour. Guess I need to watch some Youtube videos to get the hang of it.

I purchased the Deer Scram back in '16, RS. Five years old, but I wasn't impressed with the results even when new. Just another reason I didn't replant any of the landscaping that got wiped out by the Camp Fire in '18.

Insurance is supposed to spread risk over a homogeneous group of people. Insurance companies have used information technology to segregate people into risk classes, and charge accordingly. That breaks the basic tenant of insurance, and profits for insurance companies are skyrocketing as as homeowners and medical insurance becomes unaffordable for millions of people.

Managed to get through the pile of manzanita yesterday, again without a lot of useable firewood. The feed pile is sure getting big, though.

Late lunch, felt sleepy, so took a nap. Enjoyed a beer on the back porch with the lizards, both of which climbed up on my knee to see what I was doing. Stubby came over and watched me work the iPhone for a while, not sure what he made of Facebook, but he's getting a lot more comfortable about sitting on me. Dinner and a movie finished off the day.

Hope everybody's Monday gets off to a great start.

"Anyone been to the Cabernet Grill in Fredericksburg TX?"

Yep ..many times. We have a weekend in Fredericksburg in the spring and again in the Fall. Our Saturday evening dinner is almost always at the CG. I tried their CF Ribeye once but normally have their ribeye and Patricia likes their flounder .. we both go with a side of asparagus.

It not actually in Fredericksburg .. it's SW of town, out Highway 16 just past the county fairgrounds.

Speaking of CFS .. we'll be serving about 400 of them next Saturday evening at our VFD Fundraiser .. postponed from May 1st weather.

Hope everyone had a happy Mother's Day yesterday. Our two daughters, one granddaughter, and one son-in-law came for dinner with a balloon and flowers for Margaret. They had picked up the food at a restaurant and barely had enough to feed 30 or 35 people.🤣 In fact, the girls divided up the "leftovers?" 3 ways, for each of them and for us, and I'll be eating leftovers for at least 2 or 3 days.🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mornin all, Planted some more stuff in between the rain drops.
Wife a bit miffed at the rainy weather, but we went out for a bit anyway for a mothers day drink.

Kyle - how is your son feeling today?
Mostly-those Zebras didn't have google maps and got a bit lost :)
Dftodd - cute baby and like the shirt!
Drew-hummingbirds disappeared-guess heading north still, waiting for the resident ones to show

Got a nice balloon for the wife with some nice flowers and got her blackberries planted.

Iris's are coming up and we have some new ones I planted last fall, not sure what to think of the multi-heads though.
Bearded Iris's don't have as much beard, but have great color.

First rose is out and First Radish picked

Still need to get the tractor out and clear some big brush out, but ground is still wet.

Stay safe and be well

41F with bright sunshine streaming in the window @ 09:30, headed up to a high of 58F for the day. No precip since midnight, yesterday's accumulation totaled 0.84" ... local news yesterday we're closing the gap with the recent rains, but we still have a precip deficit for the year of 1.65".

Ten Day shows no rain for the next 8 days, with highs ranging from 54F (tomorrow) to 73F (next Monday)

Left nugget and suet feeders out again last night, sure enough 'coons returned. Went out and grabbed the suet feeders but they got the nugget feeder before I could shoo them off.

With it being as cold and wet as it was yesterday, the birds had been hitting them pretty hard.

First hummingbird of the year appeared yesterday at the red suet feeder outside the kitchen window over the sink ... so I went ahead and fixed up some juice, filled the feeder, and hung it up on the shepard's hook on the walkway outside the front door. Sure hope he found it .... as he was looking pretty wet and chilly.

With that extended window of no precip, sure seems like it would be a good time to get some weed spraying done ... so probably pull the sprayer out of the barn and start prepping it and make sure it is functional.

New carriage trolley is due in for the garage door opener today after Amazon missed yesterday's projected delivery date ... so getting that installed will be on the menu at some point ... if it actually arrives.

Have several pallets of retaining wall blocks in the barn that need moved out ... but might wait on that until it dries up over there a little more.

Might see if I can get the EZ-Go cart unloaded off the van later, once it warms up a little.

Probably a good day to finish cleaning up that FRP for the aerator and dump cart.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Monday ... (y)

Yeah ... kinda hard to justify the effort if it all goes for naught anyways.
