Good afternoon! 76˚F dark clouds all day, no rain but threatening to.
Spent the morning with needles and drilling in my mouth to get a temporary crown and the dentist a new pool.
Still waiting on Randy. Drew glad you are out.
Drew, I was thinking last night to tell you to be sure to wear slip-on shoes but you had already left by the time I got up this morning.

I'll just take it easy the rest of the day, because I can.

Tempest just reported lightning 24-26 miles away so I hope rain is on the way, we are still officially in a drought with the lake down and water restriction in effect.

When I was at the garden yesterday a Realtor asked me to let her in to take pics for her web site. I showed her around as her photographer took pics. She confirmed she had clients from California on her list with budgets for houses in the two million$ range and they were leaving California for pol__cal reasons. Our neighborhood is adding 4000 houses as quickly as possible and she confirmed all the lots prepared are sold and there are 29 people on the waiting list for the new lots as the streets are just being cut in. The developer was expecting to be finished and to sell out in 8 years but now it has been reduced to 4 years. Used house are on the market less than a week. I'm glad my school taxes are frozen (over 65 Texas exemption). Now is not the time to move to central Texas there is frantic buying going on. Is it like this in other parts of Texas, Houston, Dallas?

So many people are leaving California that we are losing a seat in the House of Representatives. And you're right: They're not leaving because of the weather, that's for sure!

FWIW, the recall for the Governor just qualified for the ballet.

We were seriously considering it recently. The oldest stepson, the one we were going to be moving closer to, actually talked The Wife out of it. He noted that if he can get on with the federal agency he's been talking with, he likely won't be staying there anyway. I honestly didn't think prices were all that bad for the 5-ish acre properties we were looking at. But then, they did all sell very fast.

Californians probably aren't the only ones moving to places like Texas. Illinois has so many people leaving that we've lost a seat in the House of Representatives for the first time since 1930.

Glad you're back home, Drew.

Glad it turned out OK, Drew.

Last time I was in for some work, I let the anesthesiologist know I had nausea on the previous procedure. He mixed something into the cocktail and I didn't have any when I woke up. I felt so good, pain free, that I wanted to go back to sleep, but the nurse wouldn't let me. :D

I’m out of here around five, I’ve got a mid line to finish meds at home.

My 85 year old father in law came and mowed our grass with my tractor today, I like that family, they all have his spirit and character.

I’m going to be in and out the door, 7pm meeting.

Thanks for well wishes and especially the prayers. I’ll try to catch up some tomorrow.

Mornin all, Sunny again.
Did not get much done, just some pick up stix and split a few rounds to warm up the splitter.
Am feeling pretty goo finally, O2 good, pulse back down to 60's, was sitting at 90 for a while for no apparent reason.

Buppies - Hopefully the bad is not too bad and you can get home soon.
Drew - hoping everything goes according to plan and your shoulder is good as new!

Browning game cam working pretty good, at least 2 fox, 2 raccons, that 1 turkey, some squirrels, a cat and something small and dark and too far in the brush to make out. Also some reflective eyes that are too shy to get close, and of course a mess of deer.

Stay safe and be wellView attachment 696295View attachment 696296

See you had a daffodil walk in front of the camera.

I’m told it’s crazy here, with used houses selling for more than new.

But don’t expect anyone better.

Home prices seem to be crazy all over.
Up here in upstate NY they very seldom last a week on the market and many seem to be sold for more then the asking price which has sky rocketed.
My SIL and daughter are moving from NC to NH, they had to go $10,000 over listing price to get an over priced house there, and theirs sold for over asking price in 5 days.
I don't know where all these buyers are coming from, it seems to be happening all over.

Used house prices have skyrocketed here too. Disabled guy I used to plow for , his sold for $219,000.oo 5 over asking. One next to him sold too, a corner lot with a pond. Don't know the price of that one. The one across the road is for sale, $1.2 million on 88 acres. This one I am in is NOT for sale. But if it was the price would be 750,000.

I hope you get a good replacement to stop the exodus.

RNG you give me a chuckle. My small town HS didn’t have a Driver’s Ed program. Heck, we didn’t even have a used car lot let alone a dealership. Summer of my junior year (I was 16) a neighboring town offered DE and for some reason it was open to out of town. I got in. 9.9 miles from the house to the HS. I just checked google maps. My Mom rarely, and my Dad almost never played chauffeur. It was understood that if I wanted to attend almost anything, I was on my own. Not unusual, it had been that way since 1st grade. With 7 younger siblings I can understand the reluctance to load everybody up. Only 2 rules that I remember. 1 be home by supper/dark and then 1 year in jr high (different town) my Dad forbid me to ride a certain road after school, which I did anyway, and got caught. Never understood his reasoning. Biked that same road often, going or coming from Church and variety of other reasons. I convinced parents to let me take DE. Heck, One summer I even biked to swimming lessons in the next State, but that’s a different story. I believe we had classes 3 days a week and driving session once a week and mine was on a class day.
Getting my license was a bit of a challenge. Not the tests, had those covered both written and the road test as the instructor knew the test routes as it was administered same town. The test vehicle was also required to pass a safety inspection as part of the road test. This was ‘63 and parents oldest vehicle was a ‘56, but road salt in Maine takes its toll. That 56 Chevy, 9 pax, BelAire wagon was to be my main drive. I became pretty good with Bondo back then.
Got my licence early Senior year.

This round of mowing done, even the dogs’ area got a trim. Then a relaxing hour in hottub with the dear wife. Only 90° but enjoyable. Still need to work on my timer settings. Being off grid, I don’t have the luxury of letting it run on its own.
