Drew, baffles me why your church isn’t open. We only did streaming for 9 weeks, and have been meeting in person since end of last may. Today our church had a ladies day, both in person and streaming. I was there to do the technical work to make it happen.
Picked up bbq sandwiches from Lions Club fundraiser for lunch, got cider and a cherry pie from the orchard.

Took up the rest of the black plastic from the garden, swept area with metal detector and found 6 more pins in the ground. Tilled it all again.
Mowed all the yard and field.

Used grapple to move the old water heater to the barn. It’s been sitting out behind my house since I replaced it last winter. Tore the heat pump off with the grapple. The Freon was gone, which is why it stopped working.
Put bucket on tractor and back dragged the garden to even it up. It was uneven from only tilling part of it the last year. Also took out a ridge forming on the bottom edge of garden.
Then I tilled the whole garden again.

Best wishes for Ron and hope he is doing fine. Ron you are missed.

Yup.

Ron was the first TBN'er to reply to my first-ever post on TBN after I registered back in 2004, when I was researching the Kubota 2910.

Nice guy ... (y)

RS, that's a mighty long to do list, or perhaps did it list.

Well, you know: best laid plans and all that ...

It's 52 and RAINING here now ... and has been for some time ...

It's just a light drizzle though.

I did manage to get all the cats and fish fed, loader put on the Kubota, picked up 11 bags of grass clippings and some sticks from the neighbors and got those put on the compost pile (but not buried), and got the Menards order tweaked (but not actually placed - need to go over that with The Woman when she gets home and see if there's anything she needs)

Also lit off the burn pile since - RAINING - so why not ?:

It's still going as of a little bit ago, even with THE RAIN.

You must be eating your Wheaties...

No, but those do sound good ... haven't had them in quite awhile.

The remaining redbud tree is still in bloom ... even the large branch/trunk which was broken off in a wind storm (mostly behind and to the left of the tree itself):

Potatoes blooming.
Good evening! 77 clear skies. We had 3 hundredths inch rain yesterday so I had to turn on the garden irrigation today. Sluggo worked along with the bud light beer- no more pill bugs munching on the leaves. Could not find even one. (Unless they are under ground sleeping off the hangover.)

Got an email that tractor work was needed in the garden - finished that in 30 minutes. Our barn’s two sliding doors have been replaced with a power overhead door, much nicer.

Time to walk the Whip.

Ahhh ... yes.

I'm actually familiar with those ... think I have about 8 of the 3-leg corners up in the shop from long ago. But they are only for 3/4" or 1" EMT.

Good to have a source for all the various types though ... thanks ... (y)

Share a bit more about your plan?

No real plans as far as a greenhouse goes. At least at the moment.

The polycarbonate greenhouse panel I mentioned recently isn't for a greenhouse - I cut them up on the table saw to make lids for fish tanks.

Works pretty well - the clear panels are around 90% percent transmissive as far as light goes, and they are sturdy, lightweight, and easy to handle.

And much cheaper than glass tops ... ;)

Give some thought to the wind rating of those fittings, and the EMT between them. I used to have (hint) a 10' x 30' tarp frame I used on the side of my house down in the SF Bay Area, and it worked just fine. The wall of the house was on one side, a 5' wooden fence on the other. There was wind there, but it was a very sheltered location. I brought it along with me when I moved up here, and installed it in a fairly open area. I used 1/4" aircraft guys at each upright, anchored to 2' x 3/8" rebar driven into the ground. While I was out of town, a storm with 40 MPH winds came through and wadded that thing up like a piece of typing paper. None of the fittings broke, but not very many pieces of the EMT did; they were either badly bowed or bent like a pretzel.

Thanks RNG. So, likely I will use 1 3/8 top rail as it is beefier than EMT. Each leg will be fastened to the concrete and the upper roof firmly attached to the garage wall. The garage roof will actually overhang 3 feet. This area just might be my most sheltered corner, especially from the prevailing winds.
Here is an updated drawing using fittings from that site.

RS.
What blade do you use? Any special technique? I’ve had the panels chip when using a skill saw type. I’m like going to have to cut the roof panels for the green house as looks like my only choice is 8 or 12 ft. Hopefully I can avoid cutting the walls, but that might be too lucky. I haven’t measured the legs yet. My garage roof is 3:12 pitch and this will tuck under.

I bet those fittings will work perfectly for you David. I have a bunch of those for 1 1/4" pipe, left over from a 16' x 20' peaked canopy we used to have. I repurposed most all of the pipe (remember the front porch railings?). Those fittings are tough, especially if you anchor it as described.

A very productive day! Greenhouse is assembled and secured! A few plants will be going in there tonight! (we have some golden willow clippings that we are rooting.

I was really surprised at how easy it assembled. Online reviews had people complaining about parts, fittings, and taking 8-10 hours.....

Start to finish, took about 4 hours. Wifey first started helping sorting the 50+ pieces, and helping hold together... then it got too tall for her to reach the upper parts. The son came over and got the roof done with me.

My only gripe was the overall measurements..... I had checked just about every site that had this exact model..... every single one reported "6.25 ft wide x 97" long..... so.... I made the 4x6 wood base so that the greenhouse would sit on top of the wood, in the middle of the timber......NOT!

The actual finished size of the base was 70" wide.... NOT 75" as spec'd
The actual length was only 94"..... NOT 97" as spec'd

I got lucky and the greenhouse fit inside the timbers with 3/8" to spare in the width. The length, not so lucky.... we had to unscrew the 14" lag bolts, add a 2" spacer to each side, and bolt them back together.

I am glad I dropped the pavers 2" below the top of the timbers. We were able to screw the bottom rail of the greenhouse around the perimeter inside the timbers. All worked out in the end.

The best laid plans..... yeah right!

Was wondering why pavers weren’t to the top of the timber’s.

Beautiful day! And fairly productive...

Finished aerating the lawn.
Got the blade properly positioned on the pallet I brought home from work. That is a very heavy duty pallet! None on the boards were less then 1¼" thick

Picked up a lot of fallen branches on the lawn and field...ran 'em through the chipper. Although I didn't do any trimming with the chain saw, had a good 3 loads on the Gator to chip...some dried out stuff, some fairly recent downed branches. I spent 30-45 minutes chipping. Mostly small stuff, but some up to 3-4 inches. Depending on the weather (and my motivation), probably do some trimming, felling tomorrow).
Got to admit, I'm really enjoying this chipper since I had the ring type PTO yoke with a push pin yoke...so much easier to connect!

Vacuumed the Tacoma's interior and washed the Weathertech mat...vacuumed the whole interior

Pretty decent day, all told...

I could use a trailer for the Gator. A few year's back, one member was posting about a Canadian manufactured tandem wheeled trailer. It was quite versatile and configurable...about $2K, IIRC. Anybody recall that? If so, do you recall the manufacturer?

Good Evening
Not sure what the weather was here today, I was gone for a good portion of it.

Yesterday went pretty well with the mechanical contractor. Got one heat pump installed and running, but couldn’t find the leak on the next stop. Apparently it’s a very slow leak, it took a couple of years for the performance to degrade, but was still working. I tried every tool and trick that I had, but to no avail.

Today’s trip to Marsh Harbour went very smoothly, but with a stop in FL it took all day. When I got home, my wife had bent the jack on the manure spreader, so I had to take it off, disassemble it and put some parts in the press to straighten them out

Tomorrow looks like a normal, but rainy day.

What blade do you use?

It's a Diablo 40T, General Purpose blade, one of their cheaper ones ... got it from The Depot.

I believe it was this one (think the table saw takes a 10" blade):

10 in. x 40-Teeth General Purpose Saw Blade by DIABLO

It's been a good blade so far.

Any special technique? I’ve had the panels chip when using a skill saw type.

Not any that I recall particularly - other than using the fence whenever I could and feeding it in slow and steady. Maybe having the blade up higher than you normally would with wood ... but I can't recall for certain.

Most of my panel cutting was done when the blade was new.

Did have a couple of cuts slightly chip when ripping in the direction of the channels IIRC, but that was a fairly rare occurrence.

No idea whether one of their finer finish blades with more teeth might do better or not ... but I consider this one did pretty good.

Cross-cutting a full 4 x 8 panel on the table saw with The Woman assisting was a real treat ... ;)

I'll probably try to avoid that in the future, ripping them to the appropriate width first and then cutting them down on the radial arm saw.

I’m like going to have to cut the roof panels for the green house as looks like my only choice is 8 or 12 ft. Hopefully I can avoid cutting the walls, but that might be too lucky. I haven’t measured the legs yet. My garage roof is 3:12 pitch and this will tuck under.

A fresh new blade may do wonders.

I wish you luck and success ... (y)

You might be talking about these:

Pronovost Dump Trailers

I believe the company is known for making very nice equipment, but they were a little too rich for my blood at the time I was looking.

But there was also another company that made ones that were even smaller IIRC ... don't recall their name offhand.

Maybe these guys ?:

ATV / UTV Trailers - Road Range

There was also another company named Woodland Mills, but apparently they have discontinued their ATV trailer (might still find someone that has inventory though)

I opted to go with a Country Manufacturing unit (the Model 8500 - on sale for around $750 at the time I bought it) locally made in Ohio and bit closer to home:

Utility Wagons & Trailers - Country Manufacturing

Not quite as nice as Pronovost, but still handy.

LoL.
Mostly, very glad to hear about wifey.

Hooray! We got 3.3" of much needed rain. I'm burning a pile of mostly oak scraps. Got the HF engine going on the tiller. Too wet to till.
Son went fishing, but we had a river flowing into and out of the pond yesterday, so no luck. We have so much duckweed.

I miss Ron too. Hope he's doing well.
