Good Morning
41 and looking for 70 with clear skies.

Yesterday chores and tasks were all accomplished to my satisfaction. UPS didn’t deliver the speaker grills that I’m waiting for, tracking had them in Laurel,MD, now it says they’re “out for delivery”. Of course I’ve got a trip to Newport News this morning, hopefully they’ll be here when I get back. I don’t know how I ever found the time to work on a regular basis!

Popgadget, you wear a lot of hats. Do you still have an old trials bike "bugsy" type riding hat? :)

Like this?

Morning, sunny today,
Rain stopped for a bit so went out with my come along and redid the dog runner so it's not sagging anymore towards the Rops when I drive across that yard.
Day job took the whole day, so did not get much else done. Getting stronger and O2 up to 92-95% range

Kyle-sounds like a real busy day-seems like you got quite a bit done
Paul- We used to have herds of deer here, but they changed the bow hunting rules to allow more does to be taken. Now only see 2-6 at a time. Have one chair on either side of my property on neighbors land which are rented by bow hunters.

Will see if I get time to do more raking and cleanup. Still have to do some veg planting too. Being sick for 4 weeks certainly put me behind schedule. Still have sticks and branches laying around, need to get to those before grass starts getting high.

Stay safe and be well

51°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 57° today. Some more rain expected later this afternoon. Last nights storms weren't as bad as predicted. We got some heavy rain on and off for awhile, but I never heard any thunder or saw any lightning.

Mostly_, I've been telling coworkers for years, if you want me out of your hair, make my job unnecessary. Turns out, I'm still working.

Hope your new internet service lives up to their claims, Alien. If our satellite internet service suddenly became twice as fast (not likely at this point), it would still be less than half of their minimum speed promise.

As much good as I've heard about .22 Hornet, Buppies, I'm not sure I could afford to shoot it. My brief search of AmmoSeek.com shows only two results; one at $2.70 and one at $3.00 per round. Ouch. I hope you reload.

Good morning all. Our last day of dry weather, got to crack on and finish installing another kissing gate after I discovered another wooden style had rotted off at ground level.

Introducing the new Ron after his (her?) gender change ??

good one!

interesting, not a .22 at all really, way more powerful cartridge
came out in 1930

reminds me of fishing with light weight tackle
properly used you can land something pretty big

dentist ordered pain pills and antibiotics for me, likely the latter is the problem and I have an infection in there somewhere, hopefully soon to be gone.
Back downtown to CVS shortly.

forsythia and magnolias in full bloom, very pretty driving on country roads, though pollen is making me sneeze

58 now and 65 later, a little breezy.
I cut all the fabric for two wing chairs yesterday, took me three hours, my moms could do it in an hour. Still have to sew and upholster. After this I’m going to take it easy on what I promise.

Got up a little groggy this morning, restless last couple of hours and sinus issues.

Got my new flagpole light installed, looks like aliens have landed on it, especially when it’s lit at night.

70F and mostly sunny @ 09:45, headed up to a high of 79F (which is near a record high temp) Increasing chances for showers later this afternoon. Calling for a high of 76F tomorrow, and 80F on Saturday ... then cool down to more normal temps (highs in the 60's) after that.

Saw goldfinch out on feeder this morning. Lots of birds singing in the mornings these days.

Got FEL and mower greased yesterday, fluids checked then got the first mowing of the year done on upper and lower front yards, plus compost/wood lot. Some places there was barely anything to cut, others it was getting pretty tall/thick. Still need to do down here around the house ... which is on the agenda before the rain gets here (WU says chances of rain go up significantly around 17:00)

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... ;)

It's up to 60F now but it feels cooler. Good weather for working. Yesterday was the first mow for the front yard. I was picking up as much litter as cutting grass. Grass was heavy I guess the mower is coated with green muck. Pitiful how tired it made me. I am hoping to get up to the farm to do some chainsaw work before the weeds get up.

The local paper says PA is the 5th worst state for Covid infection. I know two families that the whole family got the covid in the last couple of weeks. Pretty sad to get this far and then to get it. So far only one family member in the hospital.
I hope you are all being careful. This junk can be mean.

Chris

The first pic was yesterday, the second pic was 2 months ago.
The tree/limb/brush pile was turned to chips for the park’s trails. Many truck loads have been distributed around the park.
Yesterday we removed cedars along the park road at the curves for better driver visibility. Everything is in high gear getting ready for the parks grand opening.

Good morning! 74 heading to 88 after a morning low of 43.
Trimming some more freeze damaged hedges today.

Drew, sinus problems have made me go quickly to the dentist where they found nothing wrong. Hope yours is the same.

Good Morning!!!! 55F @ 9:00AM. Sunny. High 76F. Winds light and variable.
The winds were blowing in the wrong direction yesterday, but today it's perfect for firing off that burn pile. And now it's twice as big, and the feeder pile is even bigger, so I'll be at it a while.

One of the drills at the dirt bike school I went to, Kyle, was to start off with the front brake locking the wheel and see how far you could get. Turns out I could go far enough to rip the knobs off, which was a long way. And yeah, that was on dirt. Might be a good exercise for your boy to build some confidence and experience in using the front brake, and dispel the old wives tale of flipping over the handlebars.

Read an article a while back about making concrete fence posts, Eric. Looked pretty easy, and they last forever. I forget how you're supposed to attach the fence to them, though.

Did you get Starlink, Doug?

Gave the root part of the root grapple a real workout yesterday, clearing a much larger area down to bare dirt and taking out I lost track of how many manzanita and small oaks. A while back one of the neighbors thought that area might make a good place to build the shop, and I'm beginning to think he might be right. It was so heavily overgrown before I really couldn't tell, but after decending a short hill, it sort of flattens out. I'll keep rooting around on it today and see where it goes.

First I need to grease the FEL and grapple, then get that burn pile going.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Good afternoon! 76 now, high to be 80 later. Supposed to get rain this evening so didn’t ride the bike, it is date night and rain is supposed to be here about time we would be headed home.

Kyle - so what is wrong with your son not using the front brake enough? Sounds like he is training to get sideways on an oval. No front brake needed!

The Ohio opener is this Saturday at Circleville, weather permitting. 90’ wide cushion 1/2 mile.

Pennwalk - I know from first hand experience how nasty this stuff can be

Trip went well yesterday. Used a pressure gauge and data screen on the laptop to verify the system was working correctly and the engine is simply not making power. I could duplicate it every time, even verify what the customer had reported. Had a meeting with them and hopefully this situation gets back on track. Had to do a long email this morning giving them things to check and things to request the engine people check.

.22 Hornet is definitely a round you likely want to reload. But these days, finding ANY components for any caliber is difficult. Stopped at Cabela’s on the way home and was able to buy 500 small rifle primers and 2 boxes of 20 ga for use on flying varmints. First primers I have seen in months. 500 was the limit.

Everyone stay safe out there

Trip to PO this morning.

Guys get a chance to redeem themselves at Hand & Foot later. shrimp curry on the menu.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Currently 81F and starting to cloud up pretty good @ 15:00, they're now calling for 82F for a high ... which is a new record for April 8th (old one was 80F in 2001)

The Woman has turned on the AC.

Fish fed earlier, including some banana worms for the Julie fry. Fed one of the banana worm cultures with some yeast the other day and it really took off. Did the other one today.

Yard down around the house all mowed. The Woman ran out to DG while I was doing that and came back with Sausage and Cheese McMuffins ... (y)

Going to be a bit of work cleaning up all the leaves that got left on on the lawn from last year. Refurb of 3PH debris moving up on the project list.

Heading down to weed the bed that I put all the lily splits into last year, then a little more sanding on the barn owl box so I can get that treated with BLO before putting it up.

Will pull the MMM off the Kubota before the rain starts and put the box blade back on.

I hit the front brake too hard on a ten speed and did a forward flip, so when I started riding motorcycles I used mostly back brake, until I slid fifty feet down a hill and just missed a car. I learned to use the front real quick.

You learned, as I did many years ago, that there's a huge difference between front wheel brakes on a bicycle and those on motorcycles.:D It took me awhile to learn to use the front brake more on motorcycles.

Did you get Starlink, Doug?
No. Starlink is just getting approvals for Australia now. I was with Skymesh but have gone to ipstar.
Unfortunately in the country here we have NO choice of fast internet. Either wireless broadband which is throttled to the point I can not watch you tube sometimes, or satellite which is very slow as well. I was on 12/1, now on 25/5. That is the fastest!
There is no doubt that we are ripped off here in Oz. City folk fair better with Cable and 5G. I'm not prepared to pay a lot as it is not a necessity for us.
