this looks like better detail than my old phone
this time the pics were about 4 meg and I see they now show

No doubt a near death experience puts things in a different perspective, Rich. In the same way, as I get older and more experienced, I find myself less tolerant of ignorant people doing things that experience has shown me are unwise, especially when those actions negatively impact my quality of life and waste my time. The icing on the cake is when those folks won't listen when advised as to how they can avoid those problems in the future. One of the nicest things about being retired is being able, in some situations at least, to just turn my back on 'em a and let 'em stew in their own juice.😇
I have been getting less tolerant of stupid for a while. But since returning to work after the Covid experience....the tolerance is near zero, which isn’t good when answering tech calls or dealing with co-workers who just don’t grasp it. Other people are noticing it.... And I don’t even try to sugar coat my responses or be diplomatic about it.

potato plants can sure look nasty. First you likely freeze them and they look awful like you just know you've killed them. But sure enough in two weeks the green is poking back through the rotted guck on top. And then we have to wait until they look extra nasty/mostly dead until we dig the potatoes. But there is a short time when lines of taters are in bloom that they too can strut their stuff. My understanding is when the blooms come out the potato is starting to form.

I haven't met them yet but my next door neighbor has two young kids who play outside a lot and I'm thinking maybe beginning of July they
might like to dig up some potatoes. Most folks have never done it and it's really fun.

finished making a batch of blueberry muffins. Waiting for them to cool off to have a final cup of coffee and a warm muffin.
When I was growing up in northern Vermont my Grandfather always grew a lot of potatoes. But he grew them in mounds of hay and straw on top of fertile soil so come harvest time we never "dug" potatoes, rather we just "pulled" potatoes.
/edit-
sort of like My Potatoes-in Straw Growing Experiment – Kevin Lee Jacobs
One of the advantages was that we didn't damage potatoes when digging.

Wunderground says 29 degrees, my weather station says 17 degrees, quite a difference.

Drew, I might be suspect of your temperature sensor. I showed a low here of 25.7 on the Davis and 25.8 on the Tempest, both recorded at 6:48 am.

good morning all. Bet there are a lot of folks sleeping in this morning.

warmer day today, says 27 out now which is close to what wunderground says, going up to mid 50s today in warming trend.
yes, temp sensor is a issue, not sure why it would show colder than normal.

landlord coming over this morning to pick out some flowers I grew and I will send her home with a tray of blueberry muffins.
She's spending a lot of money fixing up this cottage and I'm trying to keep her happy, which seems to be working.

This afternoon I pull off the freeze covers on the garden and see if anything survived. It's not just the freezing, don't think the ground is warm
enough for little plants to do well. Good thing I only planted part of my supply.

Hope you all have a nice weekend and a lovely Easter.
