Good Morning
It’s 41 with a forecast high of 52 today. Breezy with clear skies.
1.3” of rain yesterday, no thunderstorm, but Tempest detected one lightning strike 20 miles away.

Started the day making pancakes, then spent the entire day in the shop, 2 of the 3 speakers are ready for final sanding.

Maybe the rain sensor for the Davis will come today, but USPS tracking says it’s taking a tour of the local facilities and not getting to the one that actually delivers my mail yet.

It’s a good thing that I have plenty to do in the shop, it’s way to wet to work outside.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 5:30AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 74F. Winds NW at 10 to 20 mph.
High wind warning starts at 8AM lasting through tomorrow morning.

Nice day yesterday, but a little warm in the afternoon. Broke a sweat under the bucket welding these up, and the high was only 76F. Gonna have to re-acclimate when summer gets here!

There are several dead trees that will find their way to the wood yard today, but this morning I need to get going on the building permit for the new water tank.

Good morning! 37˚F, it's 10 degrees colder than predicted, for my uncovered potatoes that is not good, hope there was no frost on them. Covid rash is gone, I must have seen the tail end of it. I need to sharpen the chainsaw blade today to get ready for the big push this week.

36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 68° today. No rain in the forecast until the middle of next week.

Saturday was one of those "chamber of commerce" kind of days around here; sunny and 70-ish. We got a bunch of stuff done outside, including the first grass cutting this year. I was only able to get the area between the house and the barn, as everything else was still too wet and soggy. I did get the zero turn stuck once in the back yard. Wife uncovered the outside furniture, and found one of the chair cushions had been excavated by a squirrel mining for nest insulation. So, she got new cushions for all the deck chairs. We sat on the deck and relaxed a bit towards the end of the day, enjoying some fresh pineapple as we watched a storm moving past us just to the north. The Wife decided that ice cream sounded good. I looked at the radar, and decided I could get to the Dairy Queen in Highland before the storm got there. I watched lots of impressive ground-strike lightning on the drive there, and even got a tornado warning on my phone. The sky was looking pretty sketchy. When I pulled into the DQ drive through, I heard the voice from the box telling the driver of the car in front of me that they were not serving at the moment. So, I pulled out to drive around and go back home. As I looked west across the road, the sky had gone from sketchy to "probably-time-to-get-the-h*ll-out-of-there." The employees were wandering around outside looking at the sky, and I pointed them west. They thought it was cool. I suddenly realized that I hadn't seen the funnel moving left or right ...which meant it was moving directly towards us. I told them to be careful and left with a quickness. Driving through the south side of town, the same area where I drove into a tornado about 15 years ago, the skies opened up and dumped buckets of rain and small hail. Once a couple of cars going 15mph at the front of the line turned into a neighborhood, me and the pickup truck in front of me wasted no time getting out of town. I don't usually drive that fast on those country roads, but I had every intention of putting as much distance between me and that storm as fast as I could.

When I got home, The Wife already had the animals in the basement. We rode it out down there with no problems near us. Oddly enough, we were right in the middle in a narrow strip between two tornado warning areas. The second one to the south seemed to be following US-50 east across the state.

I had occasion to go into Highland again Sunday morning, and saw a lot of tree and utility damage along Poplar Street, where I had been pelted with hail the night before. I also read that the Ford dealership across the street from DQ lost part of their roof.
"Missed it by that much." (read in Maxwell Smart voice)

I saw late yesterday that the NWS confirmed an F1 tornado had skipped though Highland and a couple other areas.

Sunday was just windy and cool all day. We spent most of it doing indoor stuff. I finally got the new pickups installed in the Les Paul guitar. They sound way better than the stock pickups, at least for what I want out of it.

Downstairs cat is up for a visit while The Squeak is out in the garage. She mostly wanders around looking to make sure there aren't any other cats around that are going to attack her. They wouldn't ... if she would leave them alone. Occasionally she will go into her "safe space" (the hall linen closet) and lie down ... if you speak to her she invariably meows back at you ...

Got email addresses researched and captured last night, now just need to write thank you notes.

Most of what's on the menu today is what I didn't get done yesterday ... same as it ever was ...

Good afternoon! It was 30 this morning, 41 now. Supposedly going to get to 50 or so.

Yesterday was all over the place on weather. Sun, clouds, rain, wind, and probably a few I forgot. Bottled a batch of beer, did the taxes, which went from sad to happy. With the latest tax law changes, went from paying to getting a refund.

Worked in the garage a bit and got bad news taking a Bultaco engine apart. Had a trans gear break in the past breaking a chunk out of a boss for the shift rail. Not sure where this will end up. Murphy’s Law strikes again!

Phones have been quiet today except somehow scammers got a list of our internal phone numbers. No, I am not interested in you providing IT support remotely.

Spent 45 minutes on the phone with tech support for the internet with Aaron from Mumbai. That was as painful as expected. According to him, the windstorm caused my modem settings to change. You can’t make this stuff up. He was going to UPS a new modem until I asked him how I was supposed to get their software to configure the modem. Suddenly, I will have a tech there tomorrow afternoon. Why did it take 45 minutes to get an appointment.

Day break 33F snowing less than an hour later everything white again,around noon 43F new snow melted but the old snow still there had several gust of winds 40+- wind average 20-30 mph looks like be doing Buppies stick day tomorrow.
Time to take quick walk about check for wind damages.

Can't post new pictures on TBN keep getting JIJF file not accepted.....hmmm. posted for helpful hints since I am at low end of being computer tech etc.

No plans for this evening other than feet up.

In same day's mail but different envelope (?) came my old passport. This time they didn't punch a hole in it, but I did find a staple
in it, intention unknown. But what caught my eye and sorry the picture isn't too sharp but the little gold rectangle on the front of the new
passport is well new. It almost looked like gold over circuitry but I don't have a magnifying glass. And what do you know in the fine print in the back
of the passport is a warning that this document contains sensitive electronics.

I wonder how long they have been doing this, any of you get a passport in last several years?

repotted some flowers today which are getting a little bit leggy and it's time to move, but not before this coming weekend. It was too windy out today to set plants
out, the gusts would have broken their little necks. More transplanting/repotting tomorrow.

My 2014 passport has the gold emblem like your new one and the notice of sensitive electronics.

Since they now have a chip like credit cards I also bought a protective RFID sleeve so it cannot be compromised.

We are having our Easter snap this week it seems but it did make it 70F today.

I was surprised my new drivers licenses came today. Thanks to Covid-19 I have not aged in the past 4 years per my driver license photo.

I have to reapply for my passport, it seems, according to them, my original untouched and used before, birth certificate had been altered. I went over it with a magnifying glass and found nothing. Worse yet, I have to pay again because it’s over 90 days and they didn’t notify me for five months. I just thought it was taking a long time because like you said they warned me it could take several months.

Good evening all. 43F for the start, mostly clear, light breeze. Windy day, mostly clear all day, and high temp was 75F. Unproductive day, had to recharge monitor wife was wearing, that took 3 + hours to recharge then had to put it back on her! Went for bike ride after that then nap. Went to town for BBQ they had very limited bar menu because bar not stocked correctly.
Covid update: Cooke, Montague, Grayson, local, unchanged.
