Good evening to everyone! Took me a while to catch up on the on-going's.....

The trees here are popping their buds.... of course, we are now forecasted to get 6"+ of snow tomorrow night.....

Well, I have had a major setback... last week the knee progress started going in reverse... after PT, the tendons on the back of my knee were "popping" out of the normal channel they should ride in. Kept getting worse over the weekend. Today, I went to PT and they refused any therapy, due to the return of swelling, pain, and decreased range of motion.....

Just what I didn't want to hear..... They are concerned I may have a blood clot restricting blood flow and causing the inflammation.

I am going for an evaluation first thing tomorrow.....

Talk about being depressed.....

LS, prayers for you.

Was below freezing when I left the house, 30 minutes later it was almost 50° on the interstate.

Day 1 of mailbox alarm is a failure. No alert of delivery , yet when I checked tonight , had mail and got alert that I opened the box. I guess the vehicle blocked the Signal. Might have to plant a tall post behind mailbox and put the sender up higher. Unfortunately a steep bank behind, so won’t be easy. It was hard enough installing the unit yesterday without getting ran over by cars.

Oh, I get it: Do as I say, not as I do. :ROFLMAO:

The new container would only be used for firewood, which I see as a finite resource. There's a temporal nature to it as well, as wood already on the ground, and to a lesser extent the standing dead wood, is already starting to decay. I threw out a LOT of insect and mold damaged wood while I was splitting. It's also very likely that the next fire to come through will incinerate everything that's dead, along with taking out lot of live growth due to the huge fuel load now on the ground. Use it or lose it.

I'm also not getting any younger, and by the time I'm in my 80s it's likely I won't be able to wrestle wood like I can now. Any older than that, and I'm likely not to have any further need for wood heat, but might have eternal heat, for that matter. :ROFLMAO: I use about 2 cords a year, so that's 30 - 40 cords. I can get 13 cords in a 40' shipping container, so that's about 6 years/container.

Then there's the math. At $250/cord, I can get $3300 worth of firewood in a 40' high cube shipping container. And I'm reasonably certain that it would survive even the worst wildfire that could reach the property. I can get a wind & water tight grade container for $2800, including delivery. So that would save me $500/container. And right now I've got $1400 burning a hole in my pocket that the head honcho sez I need to use to stimulate the economy.

But looking at it from the other direction, all that felling, bucking, stacking, and all that cutting and welding for the pallets, is only saving me $500/container.:unsure:
You got to pick your battles. There is the part that helps keep you in shape though....
Good evening all. 43F for the start, clear, and light breeze. Windy day, clear sky, and high temp of 66F. Chapel to start day, wife decided to eat her left over brat for breakfast so I had cold cereal. Gopher back so found tunnel and put sulfur on news paper and lit it then covered hole. Now wait and see what happens. Bike ride today, trip to Dr tomorrow and rain before we get back. No nap again :(

Thank you for the prayers. My daughter is still needing them.
Wont stop raining here but the only complaint is that sadly I have to go driving in it. My wife developed a sudden eye problem this morning so I had to rush her to the city. They did tests and booked her into a specialist for tomorrow so another trip in the non stop rain. Fog up on the mountain was pretty bad and it will be the same tomorrow. Pretty worrying condition so hope they can sort it. This on top of her glaucoma we can do without. Busy week so may not be on much. Take care all.
Prayers for your wifey's eye.
63°F and .81 inches rain. Another wet one.

Guess I’ll venture forth to HD

Wife’s birthday today. Taking her for lobster dinner tomorrow.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

LS, hope your knee swelling goes down, and you can get back on track.

Took a while to catch up.

Prayers for our team, and our country.
