While I agree we want to maximize our toy budget, Randy, I really do care who is to blame. People need to be held accountable for their actions, both good and bad. That's the only way we can continue to evolve as a society.

I think you missed my main point in posting that, maybe I worded it poorly.

I had relearn to walk the same summer you did, after four weeks in the hospital I was in rehab for a week and home rehab for 8 weeks. Like you I’m getting there but it’s slow.

It goes away fast, and slow to return. My oldest brother going thru it now after a month+ in hospital.

Got the mailbox alarm installed. But I just used the double sided tape on the magnets. I expect the one on the door will be off and lost in a couple weeks. The other one has a wire attached going out the back of the mailbox. Used duct tape to cover the wire. Mounted the sender unit on the west side, more protected away from the snowplow side.

Well, you inspired me to spend $38 for a new “improved” tipping bucket for my Davis. It’s old enough that I’ve replaced the anemometer twice and the tipping bucket once. The new design looks much better, and it will breathe new life into my station. I do have the data logger, but it’s age is revealed by the fact that the output is a 9 pin RS232 connector. However it all still works and records and saves the data, as well as upload to Weather Underground and NOAA.

It was driving me crazy last week that I couldn’t migrate my historical data to the new Weatherlink Live. Same old station, just new way to get to internet replacing the old IP link. Set it up as new and data starts at 0. Would have thought it would have been as easy as Click here to connect/change the connection ID. Nope, requires completely new setup into the Weatherlink.com site. Tech did send me an email on how to, but... Talking to Jerry at tech support, I learn there is no easy way. One has to use the old serial cable & Weatherlink software connected to the console to actually down load the data and then upload to Weatherlink. Pretty asinine to me considering the data is already there in the website. But even worse, this is my 2nd station, the website has my data back to 2010, but I only have locally back to 2015. This is a Windows only process and I only have Mac and IOS. Nicely told tech no way I was buying a windows machine just for this. He volunteered to migrate the data for me Monday morning as it was just about quitting time. Guess I had forgotten that Davis has never been particularly Mac friendly. I remember being told by a tech the original Weatherlink iphone app wasn’t being supported/updated as it was written by a summer intern no longer there.

Don, it is convenient having the Tempest on my watch. Actually, I have both the Davis & Tempest on when Davis is working. Connection is via Wunderground and a small watch complication that displays Temp and opens with a tap I can scroll between the 2. I believe once I have both stations completely set up, MyPWS will allow easy data comparison on the iphone via its graph function.

Well good evening to all,
Finally got caught up on my reading after getting home from my SIL's in NC.
A lot of seat time for a 30 minute ceremony but it was worth it.
My eco diesel RAM crewcab averaged 26.2 mpg going down and 25.6 mpg returning.
It's a long way from the rating but definitely the best mileage I've ever gotten in a very comfortable pickup.
It was nice watching the progression of greener fields heading south,
and then in mid Virginia seeing month or two calves out with the beef cows.
The in NC I came across a location that I wished they had been working when I traveled past both ways.
A farm had cleared and leveled a very large field in a area with a high water table.
They had used an agricultural land plane with a laser control and then had cut in ditches with V shaped
power trencher for drainage. The good sized JD with the pto powered spinner ditcher was running duals all the way around,
Which isn't unusual but the spacing for the duals was 4-5 feet apart. I was curious as to why that spacing as it wouldn't increase the
flotation over them being closer and those fields appeared to be used for grain last year not row crops, had to be puting quite a load on the bearings
and final drives.
But it sure is nice to be home and in my own bed rather then motels.

A lots been going on with this thread and others that I follow.
I'm scheduled to get my second covid vaccination Tuesday,
I'm getting mine thru the VA but they want my private insurance info also.

My SIL has a job lined up in Manchester NH he starts in late April, then my daughter and the kids will move up the end of May
after school gets out in NC. I hoping they find a new house over there before it's time for them to leave NC, cause if they don't
I may have house guest for awhile and while I love my grand kids and kids they do get on my nerves at times.

Everyone enjoy,
Oh and for those that are complaining about their power bills,
my electric runs around $150-$170 a month in the winter,
I buy around 800 to 1000 gallons of heating oil for the year ($1.60 last summer per gallon),
then 3-4 tons of coal at $265 to $280 per ton every year.
And that's just for my home and detached little shop.

The farm bill runs $350-$500 which is much better then when it was a working dairy farm and $6000-$10,000 a month.
Just to milk 150 - 180 cows.
