Last night I was doing some MIDI editing on some drum parts for a new funk song. Not sure if the editor was doing weird things or if it was just pilot error, but it was giving me fits. Spent way too much time cutting, copying, pasting, and moving data that wasn't behaving. In hindsight, it would have been faster to just re-record the drums. But, I got stubborn and was determined to make it work. It eventually did. Drums and bass are pretty much done now. I still need to record the guitar and keyboard parts. Hoping to get those finished this weekend.

Had you been listening in last night, you would have heard a fair amount of blue language and a lot of general mumbling and grumbling. :censored:

Good morning to all! Low went down to 30, up to 40 already striving to reach 50. Unfortunately, the cold front / low pressure system moving across to the north of us has generated the wind again.... 45 mph gusts today.

LFN, prayers sent for you and your daughter. Our thoughts are with you.

Well the septic guy was impressive to say the least! He showed up with his equipment and 2 guys..... 5 hours later he was packed up and pulling out! One of the best operators that I have seen. I usually don't go with the "lowest bidder", but this guy was half price of everyone else. I understand how he can be so cheap now.... efficient use of time, perfectly laid plan, somebody was doing something at all times. Here is a few pics of him in action. Another item checked off the list!

Finally got an email back from the insurance approving the PT.... need to get on the phone and start scheduling today.....

Woohoo! Had a second night of what I can consider to be a good nights sleep. Woke up a few times to reposition, but it was easy to fall back asleep.... I hope the trend continues. Swelling and bruising going down considerably.

Nothing planned for today, I might get myself into trouble searching for a few items on the internet... you know , a couple of things that I didn't know I needed....

Everyone have a great day and start to the weekend!

Our carpenter was like that when we remodeled the house. He was 50% lower than the next closest bid. He came highly recommended, and once he started it was obvious why. Same deal. Showed up on time or early every day, him and his son worked nonstop the whole day, except for a short lunch break, and they finished in an unbelievably short time. We recommend him to anyone who asks.

Nice to find contractors like that once in awhile. Helps to offset the horrible experiences with far too many of the others.

36F and partly cloudy @ 11:30, headed up to a high of 45F for the day ... so yet more melting in progress ...

Did not get feeders refilled yesterday, squirrels have moved in closer to the bird feeders today, trying to find whatever they can.

Didn't get much done in the fish room either, beyond feeding them. Started a spreadsheet yesterday though for all fish acquisitions (species, quantity, who they came from with contact info, etc.) Getting some good spawning activity from the J. marlieri, J. transcriptus, and N. multifasciatus. Relocated all the common BNP's to a 55G tank, clearing out a 20G long that I'll move whoever is left into as far as the Super Red Short Fin BNP's go, as they are getting beat up pretty bad in the tank they are currently in.

The Woman went out and did grocery shopping and after she got back I took her car over to VIOC and got oil changed and a high beam and tag light bulb changed. The underside tech claimed he was seeing some leakage around the oil pan and a very small leak on the rear transmission seal. VIOC says the transmission fluid is due to be replaced so I need to verify that and make a move on it. Don't know that I trust an Instant Oil Change place on much diagnosis-wise, but it's something to keep an eye on. Car is making some noise which seems to be coming from the left front wheel (recently had both front wheel bearings replaced ...), so I'll call the local independent repair shop today where that work was done and see if I can make an appointment for early next week to have that checked out. They can look at the oil pan and transmission for leaks while it's in there.

Woman has been talking about wanting a toaster oven, so I found a couple of short reviews on toaster ovens generally, and after she checked them out she decided we didn't need one ... Personally, I'm not so sure - current toaster is some el cheapo she picked up that neither one of us really care for ... so I'll go ahead and read an in-depth review or two on the Panasonic that seemed to be highly recommended.

Did get around to baking another Texas Sheet Cake last night ... but with a twist: added about a half jar of Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter to the icing. (Chocolate cake with peanut butter fudge icing was always Grandma's big treat for my birthday :D) Got the cake into oven and realized that we were short on powdered sugar so The Woman volunteered to run down to DG and pick some up ... clucking all the while about how overindulgent all this cake baking is ... (Mind you, she ain't really complaining ...)

I'm sure it's early here for bluebirds, but thanks to Billy for the reminder that the houses need cleaned out ... Have a 5th one I need to put up this year, once I figure out where to site it. Also need to get the barn owl box put up.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

it's interesting how supplements or foods that are irritants to the body seem to be good for it.
But perhaps not too much hot sauce...

Caught a little bit of a program the other day that The Woman was watching on a hot pepper eating contest.

The explanation on why they seem hot (but actually aren't) was very interesting.

Apparently they contain a substance which lowers the body's threshold as far as sensing/perceiving heat goes, hence the "burning" sensation.

Do you know about AirDrop? In the Photo app on the iPhone, look for the square icon with an arrow sticking up out of it when you're viewing a photo. Click it and you'll get a dialog. Pick AirDrop and you'll get another dialog. If you're close enough to your laptop, you'll see it as a choice you can pick and have the photo transferred from the iPhone to the laptop. You'll find it in the Downloads folder on the laptop, which should be in your User/username folder.

On my Mac mini I get a dialog box asking you to accept or decline the photo. Accept drops down to choice of putting it in photos or downloads. I don't think it works of you don't accept and choose a location.

Poured first cup of coffee. 13ー with clear skies this morning. Heading to 40ー with lots of sun all day. Sassy's grooming went well. We are both able to out into public again. Laundry is put away. Spent some time sanding windshield on mule with 1000 to 2000 grit wet and dry. Did a small area with Flitz polish and buffer. Going to be able to save this one. Will take awhile. My arm gets sore after a short time. Grocery shopping this morning. Then get back at doing some photo scanning. Cannot do much outside. Everything is mud.

Same here ... but mud AND snow still.

Good news there is a 2' area of water showing in Garden Pond. Been there for 2 days.

Nice cardinal pic.

Warmer days are on the horizon ...

RS, my billing for Electric and Gas is similar. Both are cheap. But double after charges are applied.

Yup ... still pretty cheap though ... possibly due to the three (?) nuclear generating plants in/near Northeast Ohio.

After being in the fish room the other day and seeing how often the tank heater lights were on, I think I'll be looking at adjusting the thermostats a little lower ... maybe take a closer look at that Kil-A-Watt meter they are hooked up to at least ...

Good evening all. 41F for the start, overcast, breezy. Moderate wind, thunderstorms in afternoon and evening, and high temp 50F. Another slow start, light putter, need to move some freezer stuff to new fridge. Got good nap today.

Good nap always good ...

Rs hope the fish are happy

Not hearing any complaints.

RS glad happy with monitor, have fun at oil change.

Yeah ... not so much fun with the added expense on the light bulbs (seemed overpriced but who knows ... :confused3:) ... but they were quick.

Their Service Tech "Elizabeth" who waited on me was very easy on the eyes though ... so there was that at least ...
