Good morning, the temperature is 13°F and going to 34. Wind S 3 mph. 60% chance of flurries.

Trip to Sudbury went off without a hitch. The Dodge averaged 23 mpg (US Gallon). There is some heat to the sun, I parked at the hospital shut the car off and slept in the sun. 4 hours. We left the house at 9:30, (always leave an hour earlier in case of some fool playing bumper cars) arrived in the hospital parking lot at exactly 12 noon. One hour early, but that is better than late.

The doc says without operation there is a 50/50 chance that she will be alive in two years. With the operation (stent or open heart surgery) there is a 50/50 chance she will be alive in two years. At the present moment she doesn't want the stent. With all the operations she has had and all the pain she is in, her 'quality of life' has gone down the toilet. She is 67 years old.

Paul, sometimes I wish that my Masters in English cousin was still alive so I could consult with her on my proper use of English. She retired from New York University 10 years ago. She taught there for 30 or so years.

I don't know what that red bird is, but the picture is awesome. Why don't you try to sell some of your pictures to Hallmark cards? Could be an extra income for you.

Dump run and town today. The Jeep gets to go out play for a bit. First time in two weeks that it will have run.

Have a safe day all

Another cold related question. Another tractor driver reported tonight that when he was moving mulch yesterday the tractor died out several times. Could we have a gelling of the diesel problem after that week of severe cold? We do not add any additives to the diesel and I never added any to my Kubota and it never gelled, but it has never got this cold.

Don have you checked how the fuel looks? If it looks dirty you could have algae. I think it is caused by water in the fuel.

Last night, I had gone to bed early and the power went off about 10:30 p.m., fortunately only very briefly and back on. We had lots of thunder, lightning, and heavy rain. The airport, 10 miles north of us shows to have gotten .52" of rain before midnight and .26" after midnight. My little rain gauge got about 2.37" of rain; most rain that we've gotten in a long time.

Good morning! 45˚F cloudy, heading to the 60s. light Northerly wind turning at 3pm to a southerly wind.

Wngsprd. an active rat nest in a bird house is still better than a surprise snake.

finished clearing out the raised ben garden taking 4 wheelbarrows of spoiled freeze damaged produce out and putting 5 wheelbarrows of a mixture of the garden clubs stockpile of compost and manure in. I still have to put my veggie compost in and till it.

Pic below is the garden's "Outreach" SIG (Special Interest Group) February planting project. They are letting their cut seed potatoes harden. They are dusted with sulphur. The SIG has 10 beds for the food bank plus the beds that people are not working for while but don't want to give up, like a knee replacement surgery, etc. or extended vacation. I keep an eye on what and when they plant they have been doing this for many years and their production is good. looks like I'll be about a week behind them.

Good Morning!!!! 45F @ 4:30AM. Sunny. High around 65F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

That's quite the storm, Bird. Glad you got some rain, but that's an awful lot so quickly!

Hope that new gizmo works out for you, David. Took me a while to realize all that came in the box was the seat!

Sounds like good progress, Ted. Good luck with getting better sleep, too!

Put in a call to the USAutomatic tech support and got a very friendly, and knowledgeable, guy that didn't have any problem at all answering questions from a homeowner. Put me in touch with a dealer in Dallas, who took my order for a new commercial grade gate opener that seems like it'll be able to use the battery and solar panel from the old Mighty Mule setup. And maybe the exit loop detector, too. We'll see. With a little cooperation from UPS, it should be here next week. Neither of the local installers I contacted followed through with quotes.

I heard on the news last night that authorities have found counterfeit N95 masks stamped with 3M logos. Here's the story.

Put in a call to the fella that's got the van's front differential, and was told his power just came back on after being taken out by an ice storm two weeks ago. He's dealing with lots of down trees now, so it's gonna be a while before he can get back to work on the diff. Asked him if he had a generator. Said he does, now...

Didn't make it to town yesterday, and not real motivated to go today...

Picture came out fine on this end, Don. That's a LOT of potatoes!

TGIF gang!:drink:

Don, can you find out specifically what kind of sulfur is used on those potatoes?
I just ordered my Red Pontiac and Kennebec seed potatoes this morning.
And I never let them harden more than a week and maybe I should start now
