got back from errands just as snow started.
Got the car filled up with gas, premium in NJ was 3.49
I think that's up close to 30 cents
At least in NJ they pump it for you and you don't have to disinfect after handling the
fuel nozzle.

Have been doing a lot of driving around the neighborhood recently, lot of quiet country roads
with white topped fields and picturesque barns. And potholes. After today's storm those potholes will
be craters. With 45 series tires won't take much to have an expensive day.
Miss my truck which would drive through anything.

Paul, glad you aren't flying in this weather

Goof morning everyone, 31 going up to 32 and calling for 3" snow.
Went into Princeton yesterday so kid can hang with one of his friends, picked up some good bread and wife got macaroons. Beautiful day to stroll around. used to live about two miles from the college before we moved across the river.

Jeep (thanks for the acronym clarification Paul :) ) at the shop. too cold to try and troubelshoot myself.

Ron - sorry about the wheel/tube - hope they have the right size in stock

L4N - 2011 Grand Cherokee with the hemi v8-glad u didnt go over when stuck-be careful

Drew - winder how many times you've driven past my house. usually get steady tourist traffic all year long, love the motorcyle parades during nice weather.

Off to clean up some snow if the deer let me. big family been hanging around 8 or so with a few yearlings. Also saw a doe and two young bucks.

Ken, if you've said so before, sorry, but can you pin down what road and town you live on?
I'm guessing Yardley.

UPS brings a big heavy box in the middle of the snowstorm, driver said he almost did not get up the Solebury hill, and all to deliver
an empty 40 pound propane tank. Found one with built in handles and wheels, better set up for my portable generator. I got that put away in the car
to take to TSC in Pipersville next time I'm out to get filled. Getting that full tank out of the car and onto the ground without scratching the car will take
several towels laid down. And without wrecking my back.

Glad to report our HEB grocery store is back to normal. No line getting in. It was very crowded but they had all checkouts working and only two in front of us checking out. The isles were stocked. We got 100% of the items on the extensive list. $180.

As far as getting that cylinder filled,
what is your primary house heat, oil?
Does that dealer also deliver propane.
If called and it could be done at their convenience they might not be too unreasonable especially considering getting it in and out of your car.

36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 48° today. Nice to wake up to temps above freezing again. A fair amount of sunshine and temps in the 40s this weekend knocked out a good portion of our snow. We might be pushing 60° tomorrow. I'm OK with that.

No idea where the weekend went. It seems to have just evaporated. I did finally get my car through a carwash while I was in Highland yesterday afternoon, and removed most of the salt buildup. I went to a different carwash, as the one I normally go to was apparently not working. The new one actually had the spinning brushes. I don't think I've seen one of those in 30 years.

Congrats on New Bass Day (NBD), Paul. What did you get? I found a reasonably priced Anton Krutz 3/4 bass a few years ago listed on Craigslist. I like the way it plays and sounds, but I'm not overly fond of the adjustable bridge.

Question. Do you pronounce the bass in bass fish and bass guitar the same?

One of the beauties of the English language; take your pick.

The musical instrument is pronounced "bās", same as base.

That's what I thought but my wife said I was wrong they are both pronounced the same (short a) and even showed me on a grammar website, where I was wrong. At least I know I am right in my mind.

Drew, the Pepperoni Blend - Local Spicery is back in stock.

Good morning All.

It was 24 when the dogs wanted to get up this morning. It started snowing around 9am. By then it was 30. The snow stopped around 1pm when the temp was 32. There was about 3” of snow with a little sleet mixed in. Now it’s raining and 34. That is the forecast high temperature for today.

Our driveway has a hill in front of the garage that faces northeast. Very little melting happens there. Since I had the tractor out clearing the hill I took the seat time opportunity to plow the whole drive.

Then just because it was going so well I did the across the street neighbor’s and the family next door!

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Frank

While not applicable to the bass example, throw in our local Hawaii based vowel pronunciations and even more fun.

Nah ... we need to start moving away from dirty fossil fuels now, while we have the cushion of existing resources.

We need judicious use of those old resources, conserving them for as long as possible ...

:confused2:

Pretty sure no other sources of energy can either ...

How can you move to energy that isn’t self sustaining, perpetual motion machine?

In her defense, sort of, the word evolved from the Italian word basso (and the Latin bassus), which is pronounced with an "ah" vowel sound.
Still, not the same as the fish.

4 1/2 inches of wet heavy snow later, the driveway is cleaned off and the birds refed.
Not going to fuss with it since it's going to be 43 tomorrow and I will conserve energy and let Mother Nature do the work
Wood in rear of house look pretty.
