Good morning folks

14 now highs in the mid 30’s and 1-3” of mixed winter precipitation this afternoon according to the guessers.
After yesterday morning’s grocery run spent the rest of the day out in the sun putting around. It was a little breezy but the sun sure feels good this time of year.
Need to pick up some wiper blades for the truck I noticed the tips were flapping in the breeze when I cleaned the snow off the other day.

Stay safe and healthy
Enjoy your day everyone

NWS says it's 25 degrees but going for a high of 67 today. And their website makes it appear that our freezing weather could be over for the year.:cool2:

Good morning, 22ーF and going to 34. Wind ESE 16 mph. A couple of inches today and 2 more tonight and on it goes.

A trip to Burks Falls today. BF is about 18 miles south of me. DIL needs to go for blood work. The blood clinic in South River is closed due to covid, BF is the only place unless we want to drive the 40 miles to North Bay.

While I was cleaning up the snow banks and shoving it back farther I was running my right side tires on a log, and wouldn't you know it, I slipped off the log the wrong way and now she was down sideways with the same log in between the rear wheels and up against the very pile I was trying to shave the side off. It gets deep, fast there so I knew I wouldn't be getting out on my own (I did try and went in deeper). The garage I deal with is also a towing company so out they came. 20 minutes and $50.oo later I was out. With my 75' x 75' snow dump out of commission thanks to the last tow call I have to get real creative about where I put the snow. I see about two or three loads (22 tons each) of topsoil or fill in the cards for mid May.

On the way back from BF I will stop at the hardware store to get the batteries I ordered for the remote block heater switches. One crapped out on me on Saturday.

Bird, now you have experienced a little of what I deal with EVERY winter. I have about 20" of snow still on the ground, not including the snow dumps.

That is one nice shot of a doe. :licking: AND typical of females, her mouth is open.

What is the difference between a barking dog and a wife? the dog will shut up if you bring it in the house.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning
28 going to 35 with snow starting around noon. Likely be the heavy wet sloppy variety.

I missed Drew by minutes, as I ran out, and he arrived just after I left. But I can assure you that his muffins taste even better than they look.

I managed to get the last speaker finished and ready to ship yesterday. There may be others in the pipeline, but that was the last confirmed order for now.
Spent a lot of time with the new bass, fingers are sore this morning.
Had to go to the restaurant to fix an ice machine, luckily it was an easy fix.

Today’s trip to Hilton Head got moved to tomorrow, so the deice won’t be an issue. Ironically the weather wasn’t the reason for the change. So I’ll be here to play with the tractor in the wet snow today.

Good Morning!!!! 58F @ 4:15AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High near 70F. Winds light and variable.
The winds this morning are howling, but if the forecast is correct, it might be time to feed a burn pile today and start cleaning up the slash from the firewood gathering. We'll see.

I'm impressed with that download speed, David, not so much with the ping, though I see two and even three second pings through the satellite here on a regular basis. No idea what to do about it. The Unifi APs really like a clear line of sight. I learned that when signal strength went to pot as I sat next to the RTV, with it between me and a Unifi Long Range AP. I'm also not so sure that the Unifi Network application's algorithm for setting signal strength is very reliable. But according to it, when I start turning up the power levels, something called the Retry Rate skyrockets. That's probably not good, but I need to do more homework to figure out what to do about it. When I signed up for Starlink, the confirmation note said it would be available mid to late 2021. As I watch the satellite coverage map I see what I think look like gaps, but also what seem to be strings of new satellites on their way to join the rest of the constellation. That's encouraging, and I'm trying to be patient, but the software I have monitoring the satellite modem is power cycling it half a dozen times a day to get it going again. Starlink can't get here soon enough for me...

Yesterday I got all the files for the bankruptcy claim moved to what I hope is the correct place, but it took most of the day thanks to the Fire Victim Trust's lousy website and my crappy satellite internet connection. Today I'll spend a little time making sure everything made it there OK, and then electronically sign off to finish up.

While I was waiting for the uploads, I reviewed the latest responses from the contractor to the solar power system punch list. There were one or two useful answers, but also several "you need to go ask the equipment manufacturer about that" replies. I had a short talk with the project manager, who hadn't read the reply yet, and hope to touch base later in the week for a better answer. I explained to him that I'm relying on them to maintain the system into the future, and I don't get much of a warm feeling when they can't even get the bugs worked out that have been there since the system was commissioned six months ago.

The sunshine felt good on my face yesterday evening, too, as I knocked off a little early and sat on the patio watching the sunset. Spotted some odd looking, almost lenticular, clouds to the west. Maybe the aliens are spying on us again?:laughing:

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!
