Good morning!!!!

Common sense says we would be better off with 70% of the population getting one dose, than 35% getting two doses. I知 due for my second shot in a week if the plan holds up, but I still believe twice as many people with 92% immunity is better than half with 95% immunity.

Same.

I知 not say limit them to a single dose, I知 saying delay the second dose. They now know that the second dose of the RNA vaccines can be delayed for up to 90 days without losing immunity from the first dose. If a significant portion of the population got one dose this virus would be very difficult to spread. There is only a 2-3% difference in efficacy between one dose and two. Idk rather have both in the midst of the pandemic, but I壇 rather see the pandemic end faster.

Actually, we got one sugar cube and one prick in the arm with something that shot the vaccine in...looked like a pistol.

Was the pistol thing the smallpox vaccination? My wife remember the pistol thingy also and still has the scar.

Good morning to all! No snow last night.... up to 36 this morning so far, supposed to hit 45. Low was down into the teens.

Kyle, I hope you, wifey, and the family get past the illness quickly and without any major issues.

Hopefully the major power issues are becoming resolved. The brief news clips we see are only a drop in the bucket of damage an problems....

Another bad night's sleep, wifey went out on the couch due to my "flopping like a fish" in bed, trying to get comfortable. Gonna try to take a med before bed only, none throughout the day.... just gotta do a trial and error to see what works....

After a few calls yesterday, and a little prodding, I was affirmed that the PT referrals would get done..... got a call this morning from the PT facility, confirming the referral. Now they need "approval", so I am expecting a call back to get scheduled....

So, all that taken care of, this morning start getting a bunch of emails from people that I haven't talked to in years.... apparently my Facebook account was hacked..... spent a while this morning trying to get that taken care of.....

Everyone have a great day! It's Friday!

We have a little in common mate. I fly RC planes too. In fact I'm off to the club this morning if the rain holds off. Also I was in Ambulance Service for 21 years. I was a mechanic/ rescue and volunteer AO until I became fleet co-ordinator and was in the office for about 12 years until I retired. Very rewarding job but pleased to retire while I still had my marbles. Been retired 11 years now and going strong. Thanks for your service.

33 degrees and snowing lightly. Won't amount to much
and very pretty out with all the trees frosted in white.

Now I'm wondering when we get our first big upset over someone fully vaccinated
trying to get into the bank or wherever not wearing a mask. At some point, they have to lower the mask requirements.
I see the biggest problem being in the restaurant industry. Very hard to eat with a mask on...and folks are naturally talking at dinner.
And maybe yelling a little to be heard over the noise. And those droplets go flying.
As I've said before here, the mayor of my old home town died from covid he got from an unmasked waitress.

Maybe the answer is better air filtration, like way back when they installed "smoke eaters" in the ceilings of rooms where folks were packed
in together smoking away. Most bars had them. I never thought they worked that well, always could smell my clothes when I came home and into
the wash they went. But maybe better filters are the answer. Maybe we can tech our way out of this and not just inject our way.

It looks like Texas will get another dose of cold and ice by next weekend. Remember these are models only and their predictions can be late or wrong but Mr Cosgrove has been pretty spot on this year

There was a Medcram video where they interviewed Harvard Prof. Joseph Allen about healthy buildings. Ventilation and filtration is what you need. I suspect that most places aren't going to want to spend money now that many people thing we are close to the end of this mess. There ought to be a healthy building engineering standard. Health star certified, indicating the proper level of ventilation and filtration. It would probably be useful for other airborne pathogens too. Could be a business opportunity.

I remember standing in line with my mother as a child for the polio vaccine. It came in a tiny paper cup, and I drank it. And I only got one dose...

All of us, over a certain age, should have the left arm dimple scar they gave us after we had the sugar cube. That was the part that hurt.

Oh No! I was hoping not to have to cut more firewood. I hate to see our power bills for this month.

My wifey said to tell y'all thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Me too, thanks! She seems to have more symptoms than me. She's younger, and in much better shape too. o2 levels good.

Just got my new refurbished Dell in. I have an old Vista Dell, that I put an SSD hard drive in it, that I'm going to replace. I wish there was an easy way to suck the data off the old SSD, put the SSD in the newly arrived computer, then transfer the Win10 OS onto the SSD as a boot drive, and use the drive that came with it for a data drive. Just like Ron's new machine he just ordered.

I will try to talk Texas power generation without it getting political. We don't have systems as winterized as they should be. Also, we used to keep at least 30% extra capacity from nuclear, NG and coal. That % has dropped to 10%. There are many, many other factors, but these are 2 biggies.

Our snow is melting fast, with the sun out, and it's up to 40F. The glare off of the ice covered pond is blinding. This is our 2nd "snowblind" day this week.

LS, I hope you can find a comfortable spot to get some sleep. PT is IMPORTANT. My buddy at church had to go under a 2nd time for them to "break" his new knee to where he can bend it more. It's his fault. He's almost as stubborn as me.

Sounds like a good career mate! Hope you get to fly your RC soon.
