"Critter Cafe"????
Don't think I want bears around here but I'm think about a squirrel feeder since we enjoy watching their antics. I'd like a deer feeder too, but that's against the law in Vermont. Not like I'd be baiting them, since I don't hunt...

That's all Mrs. doings...sign table names, any wildlife hangs around gets fed and name and I am proof of that ;) she wasn't allow to have pet growing up when we met I said you can have all the pets you wanted.

23 right now...high in the upper 20's. Had a little snow yesterday afternoon and some more overnight...maybe an inch total. I'll hit the walks this morning....maybe the drive too.

Chores: Dump run and a trip to the store for beer and other stuff (wife gives me a note). After that, probably do the snow clearing described above...then a putter day...

If that is you in the avatar, then one would think that you looked old enough to go buy beer without a note.:D

Good Morning!!!! I'm too lazy to look up the weather here in Forestville, CA, but it's much cooler outside here than up in Butte County. Gonna be much colder in Klamath Lakes, OR tonight I bet!

Other than having to make a few u-turns, yesterday's trip went smoothly. My chosen route took me through one of the big fire burn zones east of Sonoma County, maybe 35 miles of toasted trees, burned out homes, and charred cars. Been there, done that, yes Viking, I'm a Camp Fire survivor. My place is just a few miles from Paradise, CA, but I didn't loose my home. A lot of damage to the surrounding land, though. If I had to guess, I'd venture you were somewhere up around Shasta or maybe McCloud?

We managed to stuff a lot of his treasure into the truck and onto the trailer yesterday, but from what I can see, my buddy here has a LOT left to go. He has another friend with a truck, and hopefully that'll be enough for him. We're good friends, but I don't wanna do this again.

I can hear him rattling around in the kitchen, so it's time to get up and get going. I told him I'll be loafing along at a steady 62 MPH once we hit I5, and to go ahead and run off in his Audi A4 if he gets impatient. But he says he'll hang around and keep an eye on me. We'll see.

15F and sunny @ 09:15, heading to a high of 28F for the day. Snow showers tonight but accumulating less than an inch ...

But they're now calling for a low of -5F on the 13th, followed by a low of 0F the next day ...

Neighbor kid came down yesterday and asked if he could borrow the torpedo heater. He and Grandpa are putting up insulation in the pole barn so we dug that out and got him loaded up. He offered to plow the drive but I told him I didn't think it really needed it. Will find out more about that later today when I venture out ...

Starting to feel a bit like a Hitchcock movie around here at times:

IMG_0791 copy.jpg

All those black birds have been hitting things pretty hard ... need to refill everything again this morning.

About to place critter food order with Menards: whole corn, cracked corn, black oil sunflower, safflower, and shelled peanuts.

Otherwise house clean up, tax prep, fish room, Menards run on agenda for today.

Glad to hear no serious issues/outcomes, hope everyone continues on the mend ...

Have a safe day.

Good morning all, 28 going up to 44 and sunny, beautiful day. Calling for 4" of snow tomorrow.

Coffee table for downstairs delivered today, wife happy.
Edge tamers should show up today, happy me.

Randy- in MA the locals hunted bear with 30.06. Older guy up the road had one from the early 1930's- fun to shoot, but a bit bruising.

Stay safe and be well, don;t know whats happening today, but have wings, chips and beers set for tomorrow.

I buy bottles of Anchor Bar wing sauce, it does not contain butter. bake the wings, apply sauce and good to go!

That's me OK...that picture is probably close to 20 years old...been my avatar for most of the time I've been a member of TBN (20 years now!). Still got the hat, but never wore it except for that picture...
The note is for any other stuff she might want while I'm at the store...no note today though.

Did my walks and drive...there was more on the walks and drive then I thought there would be...chores are done
Still a bit chilly outside (low 20's) so I'm relaxing with a nice cup of coffee sweetened by Kahlua. Good mix, but normally a bit sweet for me...so, I added a few dashes of Orange Bitters. That added a bit of a tang to the coffee-Kahlua combo.

Think I'll watch a movie...

Poured first cup of hot coffee. 13° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 21° with clouds and wind. Got drive and walkways cleared yesterday. Did neighbors while I was out. He was having surgery yesterday. Got last of computer setup done. Amazon delivered new monitor and other items. Will spend today moving 3 computers around. 1 is a old windows 7 that stopped working a few years ago. That should be enough for the day.
Michigan Covid cases 619,499. Deaths 15,750. Oakland county cases 71,677. Deaths 1,916. Case numbers for the state have drop down to less 1,300 per day. Deaths are less than 20 each day. Over 10 million test have been given in state. Oakland county has tested over 1.1 million.

Looking, stay warm.

Rich, good news on Dr visit. Pizza looks good. Sorry you have to go back to work.

Don, muffins look good.

Randy, good getting out to shoot.

Ken, good job on getting father and GF signed up for vaccine.

Viking, great pictures. Where is this location?

Buckeye, prayers they get your brother back to good health.

RNG, have a safe trip.

LS, I have a friend that moved to Weatherford, Tx this year. He likes the area. Lived just south of Denver before.

Drew, with others talking about fishing and your life with boats. Thought you would like looking at this boat.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

That is a beauty, but having owned a wooden Owens yacht about 35 years ago, I never want another wood boat.
Disclaimer; mine was worth a bit less than this one, by about $1.19 million less.

51° now, that’s supposed to be the high. Our winter storm watch was dropped, looks like a bunch of rain headed our way.
I’ve got a new recliner coming today, hopefully. It’s going to replace an old loveseat that upholstered about 13 years ago, and it shows it’s age.
I’m going to make a pot of chili then go vacuum where the loveseat was, obviously that hasn’t been moved and cleaned under in a while, I should be ashamed of myself, yet I’m not.

Mostly, glad your wife is OK.

MAN, you guys have some pretty places!

Gotta get busy, have a good day.

I don't normally put sugar in my coffee, except if there is Kahlua around and I am not going anywhere. Two fingers measure from top side of index finger to bottom of pinky finger. Top off the rest of the cup with coffee.

So you like a little coffee in your Kahlua, but don’t overdo it.

Rich, I could go for a piece of the pizza right about now.

successful morning, got what I needed at Staples and came home and worked diligently for several hours wading through
piles of old bills and receipts. It's been a tough year for my filing system...
And what a lot of money out of pocket this year for medical, over 10 grand for assisted living care.
At this point I just ship it all to accountant and let him figure out what is important and what isn't.
I've probably been giving him receipts for taxes paid on things that haven't been deductible in ten years...:confused3:

big pile of papers needing to go into shredder. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow while it's snowing out.

Speaking of which, need to go out side and shovel around generator.
If another 7 inches of snow comes, and then the power goes out, of course at night, going
to be difficult. Next time I take out the snowblower, going to go overland and make a path to gen.

My son had the same with one of his eyes last Friday. Looks bad. But all is OK from eye Dr.

I got this one from Costco.

The HDD has no data on it. Need to figure out how to send all my pictures to it. It is fast. Compared to what will be my standby computer. Which is i3 at about 8k with same memory and no SSD.

That looks like a great buy for the money.

I have a question for you Texas guys... anyone know any details about "The ranches at Woodland Ridge" ? It is outside of Walnut Springs and Glenrose Tx. They mention paved streets, power and internet, but don't say anything about water. Is there good ground water / wells in that area?

Not a bad price for 5 acres and a dried in "barndominium".... $99K

I / we are seriously considering finding a place like that. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, they would be greatly appreciated!

Only been through there once, and was taking some side roads home from a road racing event. That is a semi arid part of Texas I believe...but probably more rain than where you live. I would say to check it out in person.

Kyle - I would hope you have your son wearing a helmet. Now is the time to learn the value of good gear when riding!

Everyone stay safe out there

He has a good helmet, and it probably saved him from much worse problems.

Much colder weather coming in the latter half of next week.

Good morning to all! Low of 29, going for a high of 48. The wind finally cut back to just being breezy at 20 mph. There were a few gusts around 2:30 am that woke me up for about a half hour. Too exhausted not to sleep a third night....

Shop time was productive yesterday, I was able to get the main chest assembled. Just a few trim pieces to sand and put on. That will occur today, maybe get to start staining it. Did not take any pics yet.

The youngest son got stuck in a traffic backup on I-40 for 2 1/2 hours this morning due to a fatal multi vehicle crash. They had decided to take advantage of a nice day today and go to the zoo in Albuquerque..... not going to happen.... they said when they get free, they are just going to turn around and come home. Tomorrow is another day.... I wouldn't have waited that long... he said he should have gotten off the freeway at the 2 previous exits that they creeped by..... DUH!

Need to get the bird feeders filled, then some shop time. Gonna make sirloin burgers on the grill this afternoon.

Everyone have a great day!

I have seen thousands of bears living here for over 47 years in the wilds,

Shasta , Mc Cloud, Dunsmuir are the nearest beer stores. I'm miles out in the woods from I5.

I got the pellet stove cleaned out today. Still got enough pellets in the porch box, so will wait for colder ground temps before I refill it.
Also worked a couple hrs on work stuff.
Cleaned out a sink drain, but wasn’t up to pulling the toilet that needs new seal.

Drove wife and son to town, got bbq again from same truck as last week this time set up at the Harley dealer.
Now waiting for them at Walmart, then fill up the Subaru on way home. This town just getting too much traffic. Wish I was out in the pines staring at mountains.

Mostly, no afib issue here. Basically, Sophie and I are basically healthy other than her disability and my being overweight. Other than daily aspirin, no medication regimen.
You sir are doing better then most. Wife and I both wish we were just on an aspirin.

Start off in the morning with a pill for acid reflux, and 1 at night for cholesterol. High stress job and bad genetics. Body refuses to produce enough good cholesterol even with diet, exercise, and a fish oil pill.

Then I get a shot once a month for psoriatic arthritis.

/ Good morning!!!! #127,119
. . . and a fish oil pill.

They really don't recommend taking fish oil anymore.

The Diet and Angina Randomized Trial (DART 2) involved 3114 men with stable angina. Advice to eat fatty fish did not reduce mortality, and taking fish oil capsules was associated with a higher risk of cardiac and sudden death.

"Advice to eat oily fish, or take fish oil, to lower risk of heart disease, stroke, or mortality is no longer supported by the balance of available evidence."

The day turned out sunny and 72˚F. A good day to explore a new park. The land owner planted 1000 pecan trees almost 100 years ago, the county now uses the area with springs as a park.
