good morning all.
30 out now, radar says still snowing but can't see it yet, think it's mostly frozen sleet.
Which means that one inch crust out there is going to be a bear to get rid of.

Going to have something to eat and head out to join the whirring, buzzing, beeping noises of snow removal.
And in my case the occasional one inch gravel rock sucked up, makes quite a bang but have skids all the way up.

Family in CA and VA and friends in DE and FL already have gotten their shots, asking me what is problem with Bucks Co. ?.....

bet those birds will welcome me out there this morning.

Good morning! 23 now, allegedly getting to 30 today. Got some more snow over night, will see how much once it get light outside. Forecast is for some cold weather beginning of next week.

Cleared snow again yesterday. No mechanical issues. Hands are sore this morning tho from 2 days in a row of clearing snow.

How was the pizza BEF?

See what today brings. Certain I will find something to get to

Stay safe out there

Good Morning
30 outside high of 34, and it’s still snowing. I’m guessing at least 16” so far. It’s over 3 feet outside my back door, but that’s a drift.

I’ve got to go out and clear a path to the barn or get my wife snowshoes. I’m thinking I’ll clear the path.

This storm has pretty much been the focus of all of my energy, but not necessarily in a bad way. I find the time on the tractor quite peaceful. Not sure if it would be the same without the heated cab though. I hope Drew’s alpaca socks are keeping his feet warm.

It’s time for me to get moving and adding to adding to the cacophony that Drew mentioned, although the snow absorbs most of the noise.

Still radio silence on vaccination.

Positive note gate will be fixed tomorrow and tractor time this afternoon

Day light hours doesn't bother her but night time different story.

/ Good morning!!!! #126,829
yesterday I had the dubious distinction of being first one out there to clear off the snow.
This morning as it just starts to lighten up outside, and I see it snowing out there, in much less of a hurry
to go get wet and cold.

But...reminded of my alpaca socks waiting for me, I'll put them on. The wool socks I wore yesterday had shrunk some,
so when you take them off, looks like your foot had been squeezed down a quarter inch. One area where synthetics outperform natural fiber, they don't shrink.
Of course I wash everything in hot water and fully dry them. I might be cooking them in the dryer. I know to not put the alpacas in there but maybe I should let the wool
socks dry out naturally too. I need a sock tree...

time to get a move on. Very light snow coming down.

Morning All;
Looks like the eastern PA area got the most of the snow.
So far up here we have only gotten around 3" but it's hard to tell from all the drifting.
Went out and brushed off my wifes car, she has headed to work now.
I turned on the block heater for the tractor and will start plowing a bit in an hour.
Then get headed out.

mostly_ if I had some dry sacked sand I would have loaded that, but I have 4 tons of sacked coal on pallets as that is my "supplemental " heat source.

Looking4new "audiology clinic closer to you than VT? Or is it that you don't like driving in NYC" this is part of a VA disability claim when the paper work was filled out they threw every
ailment in the book at the claim form. This audiology clinic in VT is much closer then NYC as well as not caring to drive in NYC especially with them getting a good bit of snow. It's just shy of 200 miles from my area to NYC. They are claiming because of covid most clinics are not seeing new patients, it has been over a year getting this appointment. I've driven quite a bit in stormy weather and my truck is set up better then most vehicles.

Best wishes to all today,
stay safe and try to enjoy

Lou

well audiologist just called to cancel my appointment, we will see how long before the next one gets scheduled.

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 4:15AM. Cloudy with occasional rain showers. High 58F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%.
Rain gurgling in the downspouts and bouncing off the sliding door woke me up about an hour ago, coming up on an inch or so since it started yesterday evening. It'll keep it up on and off most of the day, which will be spent inside.

Good news, Drew. Still thinking about that cross country trip?

Hope everyone's staying safe in all the new snow...

A couple days ago I noticed one of the hummingbird feeders had gone missing, taken by the wind in the last storm. Made a big circle way down low on the hill, figuring I'd spot the bright red and yellow colors without too much problem. Well, sorta. I did get a flash of red, but it was mostly buried under long dead grass. But it was a hummingbird feeder, not the one that just got away, though. I don't know how long it's been out there, but it was badly faded by the sun, so likely several years. Then another bit of red, just a few feet away, and there's another feeder, also almost covered by long, dead grass. I recall losing one feeder, not two, but now three? I guess anything's possible. I'm pretty sure the latest escapee is still out there, somewhere.:confused2:

Got the trailer wheel bearings greased and adjusted yesterday. Not a big job, but it sure was a messy one. Even with nitril gloves on my hands, I don't like smearing grease all over the tools and digging through it to locate the holes for the cotter pins.

Finally got the bearings in from France, so I can get back into finishing up that transmission that's been apart for so long. Maybe today, but instead I should start my hunt for an forester who can give me a quote on replacing trees and shrubs destroyed by the Camp Fire. That's pretty much all that's left to do on the claim.

The trip north is delayed until Friday due to the current weather. The original plan would have had us climbing into the mountains north of Redding Wednesday morning in what the weather folks are saying would be hazardous conditions. Even if the roads weren't slick, the two motorcycles in the open trailer would have been a mess to clean up.

34 and snowing, a light dusting on everything, 36 later.

Day three after my injection and the soreness is pretty much gone, I can feel it if I touch it but the shoulder joint is ok today. I feel better, although I never really felt that badly.

Mostly, yes it was $15 for the new fender, I couldn’t get an LKQ or it would have been less. Keep in mind this was 1982.

I have to finish my chores to earn my breakfast so I’d better get started.

good news from oncologist, PET scan came back negative, no spread, all good.
I asked him if I could start buying green bananas again and he said yes.
that's a big load off my mind. Now I can start thinking longer term.

nasty combo out of sleet, hail and snow, but it's slowly accumulating
Decided it was just too miserable out to go out in car

Great news Drew! Banana bread on the way!

Rick, hope you get your window fixed with insurance.

Son had his first major wipe out. I heard it, but didn't see it. I came around the corner to see him walking around dazed and confused. He had hit some hidden depressions covered by grass. Tweaked the front end, and smashed his speedometer to smithereenys. He's better now.

good thing Kyle, hope he turns it into a learning experience
like we all did...

31 in light snow easing up as this system leaves the area this afternoon.
I did the driveway again, more snow came down than I thought, maybe another 3 inches
I cranked up the rpms a little and had no problems chewing through the mounds at the end of the driveway
from road plow. Fed the birds and came in for a rest.
My alpaca socks were extra comfy out there.

heard grumbling of truck outside and township plow was plowing lane next to mine, about five houses until it ends.
And he pushed all the snow across the road onto my other neighbor's front lawn, which I know won't make her happy.
Really no place else to push it other than other end where the lane meets someone's home. Let's see, push it in front of this
guy's garage door or this lady's front curbside. She's been living there 51 years so I guess she has a right to squawk.
The pile of snow on her lawn doesn't block road vision either so something tells me she's been complaining about this a long time.
Needless to say, I made sure my snowblower didn't blow one flake of snow across the street.

Good morning all, 28 going up to 34, another 4 inches last night, really wet stuff. Amazed at how a few miles makes such a difference in snow amounts.
Looks like our total is now around 14" unscientifically measured as we had some wind come through and create drifts.
Snow is coming down heavy now, small flakes, time to go plow again, three times a charm?
No heated cab for me :-(

Buppies - hope you get your heater fixed. We have electric heaters to put by piping in case this happens, have them from old house when that heater failed. Do not let pipes freeze!

Sorry about canceled appointment Lou

Kyle - first crash- always the worst. I have scrapes on my upper teeth from a crash on back of my crazy friends motocross bike. Don't think he knew slow at all :)

Stay safe and be well, tractor is calling me as seems only one more inch in the forecast. Though I look at the radar map and see a pretty thick line along the Delaware river and my place.

Hard to believe this was plowed last night:

you definitely got more than we did Ken and you are just South of me, which all seems backwards.
pretty picture

We need to all send good karma to Buppies to get his heater fixed.
Didn't work too well with Ron but we'll try !!

Good morning! 36˚F warming up to the mid 60s, sunny day so the Texas rattlesnake has seen it's shadow and there will be another 1008 hours of winter. I would hate to be the guy who has to hold up the snake so the crowd could see him for the photo op.

We had to use the snake because Bee Cave Bob was canceled this year.

Snow's pretty much ended...somewhere between 5 an 7 inches is my estimate. I reckon I'll get something on other than pajamas (Boy! I love flannel PJs!!) and get ready...

/ Good morning!!!! #126,839
Just layer over the pj's Roy, your own version of underarmour!
Then when you come in, all ready to chill.

/ Good morning!!!! #126,840
Looked like 2-2.5 inches on the driveway. Right in the zone between shovel and blow. Still have very light snow falling. The plow junk at the end of the driveway was like soft serve ice cream. The snowblower was right on the edge of clogging I was thinking about getting a flat shovel. The sky is starting to lighten up so I expect the the left overs on the driveway will melt.

Don't over do it.

Chris
