Have you been doing anything more than self isolating, masks, social distancing, and hand sanitizer to keep from catching it?

Someone posted a link to a recent study that something like 30% of CV19 cases are asymptomatic. Have you two had antibody tests so you know you've never had it?

I'm asking these questions because I feel like I'm rolling the dice every time I go out among people. If there's something more I could be doing to improve the odds, I'd sure like to know about it!

Wifes tested weekly since she's a health care worker. Sometimes twice weekly depending on the percentage infected for the county. If she had it, or I had it, it would have been passed to the other.

I'm naturally anti-social, and keep my distance from people while shopping and avoid road blocks in aisles.

When I travel, I get take out and eat it in my hotel room (anti-social ) get my lunch to go and eat in my truck. We do eat out on occasion. We get our name on the list, wait in the vehicle till we get a text that our seat is available.

I was tested last week for covid (negative), but it was just my usual sinus infection that I get this time of year.

Those numbers may not be up there with urban 4G service, but they're still an order of magnitude better than what comes down from the satellite, David.

Yesterday I found a new-to-me 4G reseller called SkyMobile that offers a cellular modem with external antennae and a plan through AT&T. The AT&T signal seems to be stronger here, or at least those visitors with AT&T phones seem to have better luck than I do completing calls when they're here. Your report has me wondering what sort of meter you're using to measure signal strength vs. band, though...

I have Amal stuff that covers about every carb they built post WWII. Also have lots of experience making Amalç—´ work on Bultacos when they are being abused.

I know all the advantages of Mikunis. But something I learned a long time ago is the efficiency of a Mikuni causes it to lean out during transition between jets. An Amal is the opposite, it is inefficient and it goes rich. When you are dealing with big bore Bulç—´ used in anger, you have significant heat issues. The Amal can be tuned to use itç—´ inefficiency to control heat, especially when chopping the throttle going into a turn.

Drilling the piston to allow fuel/oil onto the cylinder walls adjacent to the studs does wonders to eliminate seizing and cracking. Another old trick.

I'd be perfectly fine with no mandate on it ... provided that any person who doesn't want to take the vaccine voluntarily self-isolates, no exceptions ... until the entire population of the US has been given the opportunity to receive however many doses of the vaccine is required to be effective, followed by whatever period of time is required for it to become effective.

That means they stay home, out of public circulation.

Get caught violating your self-quarantine, and you get the needle in the arm. No exceptions.

As far as businesses mandating the vaccine goes, businesses have a responsibility to their customers not to infect them with what could be a deadly disease. Smart businesses will see that doing so is a good business move.

If you're an employee and work at place that requires that you do so and just don't want to take the vaccine (with no valid medical reason), then find somewhere else to work that aligns better with your philosophical outlook on life.

your "no mandate" is same as jail. Won't happen. you need to also go after all the granola moms, and illegals who won't/don't vaccinate their kids....WITH PROVEN VACCINES.

I will get the vaccine, as soon as offered....and hope for low/no reaction.

All this talk of Amal carbs, in a TRACTOR forum! Brings back fondish memories of my first big bike, a 750 Norton Commando Fastback. Ticklers and wet thumbs.

Then there was a black and silver Mk III 850 Interstate I put together with a hot cam and Amal Mk II carbs. It ran great and didn't leak because I found something called YamaBond to put it together with. Now a days it's called ThreeBond and I'm still using it. Somewhere up in the rafters there's a Henry Weinhard's box of carb stuff, and I'll bet it's mostly full of Amal pieces. And there's a little plastic drawer, maybe two, in one of those parts cabinet things that has jets and needles and circlips and other little Amal parts. I don't know why I kept 'em 'cause they were all replaced because they were worn out.

Then there are the Amal GP carbs on the Norton Production Racer that still sleeps in the great room. Those got disassembled and cleaned back in the '80s, and never saw fuel again. Most reliable Norton I ever had! It still reliably leaks oil.:laughing: That Fastback is the only motorcycle I regret letting get away from me. But not enough to go and get another one.:mur:

The GT80 was just low on petrol. I also gave the spokes a turn.

Bingo! The Fastback helped finance my first BMW, an '81 R100RS. It was a nice bike, fast and reliable, but it didn't make the same beautiful music as the Norton, and it had an alarming habit of sliding on a valve cover in corners. That problem was fixed by a K75S, but that's a whole 'nuther story.

Is the issue with your geo not keeping up due to a closed loop getting too cold? If so do you have an indication of loop temp?
I’ve ever had a problem, but my system is an open loop, so the incoming water is always in the 50’s. My shop has an air to air heat pump, and the aux heat (propane) cycled on yesterday when it was 20 degrees and 35kt winds.

I do have temperature sensors attached to outside of my loop pipes, so not real good data. Not many people have the water supply to do open loop, but that constant 55° water is better than closed loop. You can see on the orange on this chart where I turned on aux heat, you can also see the output temp falling right before, as the system was not keeping up.

Oil burner man here this morning, had bad diesel fuel smell in basement. Turns out I was right and the guy before last put in the wrong nozzle and it was running rich.

Which is why I started doing my own nozzle replacements when I burned oil. They would use whatever nozzle they had with them instead of getting the right one. Anybody need an old oil burner, it’s still taking up space in my basement.

Nice day. clear and cold. Not much wind.

I drove past the dinner. The parking lot was packed and there was a line out the door. No social distancing that I could see. I wonder if the folks from the senior village across the street have got their shots and are now good to go. I can't keep up with the state orders but a week ago they were closing restaurants that wouldn't close on their own. The County is supposed to be working on a mass vaccination site that can vaccinate 5000 people a day. I don't know where they are going to get the vaccine.

In the city thousands of people are walking around, how would you know who has the vaccine and who does not and should be staying at home.

Of course the HIPPA laws would have to be suspended. We did not have them back in 1905.

If you google "can you test positive for covid after you have had the vaccine?" you will not get a consensus on what is the correct answer.

Edited out experimental because the testing usually ends 2 months after phase 3 testing but were granted an emergency exemption. Still would be an interesting case before the Supreme Court today.
