L4N, loading wood with that conveyor looks like it will be good fun. I see a long rope running to an emergency stop, do you tie that to your ankle, or some other part ? :confused2: :)

There is an E-stop button on the near side to where I am loading it. No, I can get off the tractor quick enough to stop it IF I need to.

The conveyor is brand new, $7,000.oo CDN.

I was about to say, that thing looks brand new!
Bill always fantasized about having an insulated door near the fireplace and a trolley on tracks or a conveyor that would come from outside to inside, and sit right next to fireplace until
it was ready to go out for another load. Now I bet Ted could build one of those...

took me way too long to build the birdhouse, waiting for glue to dry and then I'll take some pics.
I can shave a lot of time off if I don't make a peaked roof and just have a single roof board on an angle.
Legs and back hurt, I'm definitely done for the day. UPS brought some boxes, need to go see what they are and
then maybe a nap.

Eric.
"While it was under warranty I had it serviced by the dealer and the lad that came last time had a lot of muscle, unfortunately it looks like he may have used some of that in over tightening the filter. My filter strap which uses a 1/2" ratchet wrench for leverage couldn't move it, it started to crease the can. Local auto store said normally they could get me a socket cup removal tool in by this morning, but this stupid "Black Friday" concept could be clogging deliveries for days to come. Deep breath and remind myself I'm retired now, no need to rush anything, there is always another day..."
.........................................

I hear what your saying just about the same thing I was confronted years back  but I use pipe wrench with teeth and slowly loosen filter.
That's another enjoyment about retirement you'll have plenty of time to think and do. ;)

hole drilled in back to hang on big nail

yes, hinge on one side, pin on other
this wood is a lot thicker than store bought for sure, I think it weighs five pounds...
I still have a little sanding to do to it on edges

thanks

It will be interesting to see how the starlink works out, for us rural customers. Hope you find something that works in the mean time. I still remember them saying they were going to offer internet through our electric wires, if they could, everybody would already be already networked.

The so called "smart" electricity meters are already communicating over the power lines back to the power companies. No idea what kind of data rates they have on them, but the amount of data being transmitted is pretty small. But since our local utility shuts off the electricity every time the wind blows and the humidity drops, I'll be darned if I would put any more eggs in their basket! Even if I were to find 4G internet that worked here, I'd still keep a satellite link active, but with a much lower data cap, because the cellular towers need electricity to work and they fail after their back up batteries or generators run out of juice in a day or two.

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes.

Ted, great job on the desk...shhh, don't tell anyone that he's playing games rather than doing homework. :shhh:

Kyle, great job on the Steiner. She may swipe it away from you when you get done.

Well I got some unwanted news from my sister this am, apparently my nephew has relapsed and they are giving him steroids to try to relieve some of the pain. She said that he is so weak that they can't understand him on the phone. Of course there is no way they can go see him. I just feel terrible for her and Bro. in law. This has to be one of the worst things to happen in life for a person to have to go through. No one should outlive their kids.
Continued prayers would be much appreciated.

40 going to 58 and cloudy...but I did see one star this morning.

Happy Birthday to Phil's wife and hope her eyes improve.

Nice dinner for your birthday, David! Hope it was a Happy Day.

Rip, sorry about your water problems...hoping for an easy fix.

Trying to decide what to do for our 42nd anniversary today. Some of our favorites aren't possible this year. Maybe spend some time just gazing into her eyes.

Mountains were pulling hard on me yesterday, so went to Shenandoah and hiked Rocky Mountain and Brown Mountain. Wore myself out. Didn't see a single car on the Skyline Drive for the 10+ miles I had to drive to the trailhead, nor did I see anyone on the trail. Beautiful and very remote place. Now I know why they named it Rocky Mountain. Here's where I ate my apple for lunch.

I remember seeing rocky mt, near the south end?

Happy Anniversary!!

Here is a tiny short video of it. I let my daughter drive it, mainly to let her feel the "weirdness" of rear wheel steering. She made me not film her head, being shy about things....

The covers are still off, and I have since bungee corded the pto pulley arm up safely off the ground...

52F and cloudy @ 21:00, raining earlier throughout the day, clearing up tomorrow for three days ... which will be welcome ...

Currently in a good bit of pain ... evidently did something to my back when we were moving that furniture around. At least I hope that is all it is. Feels like someone is poking me under my left shoulder blade with a big sharp stick.

Just finished chow a bit ago, Woman brought home some of Bert's Chili from Waffle House. She thought her's was on the dry side, I thought it was perfect ... :D

Made the loop earlier:

Home Depot (for 12 PAR 30 LED bulbs)

Then Menards for order (three 4' track lights, with three fixtures each, for the living room, a couple of connectors for same, 10' of 1/2" black pipe for some Harbor Freight clamps I plan on picking up, and heavy-duty 54" Johnson Drywall T-Square)

Then to The Acme for grocery order. That would have gone smoother, but I had to go inside to get a few things their pickers missed or were out of when they picked the order. Missed out on the butter which was on sale ($1.99/lb), and the Stovetop Stuffing (also on sale) ... they were cleaned out on both. Did get three gallons of Turkey Hill ice cream for $1.99/gal though so that's good ...

Yesterday, I got slipcovers ordered from Amazon for the two loveseats and the "new" sofa, plus some Cambric fabric for the bottom of the sofa (was ripped), and one of those Moultrie feeding stations for the deer. All of that should be here Friday, except for the slipcover for the sofa.

Day before I got a new digital to analog converter box ordered from Amazon for the old JVC TV. Same features (component video signal output) but a different brand, 1/2 the price as the original one, 3 year warranty vs. 1 year ...

Turkey is thawed and sitting in the roaster in the 'frig ... I suspect I'll be hanging those track lights tomorrow.

Never did get the old stove moved out of the kitchen ... probably ain't gonna happen for at least a couple days with the way my back feels at the moment.

Hope everyone had a good day ...

Nice desk, just the right size.

Our thought and prayers are with your family.

I like the overhang on the front porch peg.

I thought you would name the YouTube "Beauty and the Beast."

All farm animals have to be carted away.
On the upside, we are allowed to bury pets.
If Mary can have a little lamb as a pet, Eric should be able to have a pet Tup.

. . . our 42nd anniversary today.
Happy Anniversary!

Good evening! 45˚F. It was an excellent day to work in the park. Only had one mishap. My chainsaw bar fell off and I lost one of the nuts holing it on. I was trying to figure out how it happened when I remembered I was tightening the chain at home when my wife brought whipper to the garage for a visit and I must have not re-tighten the bar nuts. I was able to finish cutting the rest of the cedars with only one nut on the bar. We are still clearing cedars on the overlook and the view is getting more panoramic.
