Kind of like Newsom and Pelosi in CA, or the Cuomo’s in NY. It ain’t just TX. And Trump for that matter.

People drive me nuts wearing masks under their noses or worse under their chins.

Yeah ... the point of my post wasn't that it was "just TX".

It was that what appears to us to be the case - as a consequence of our own observations - isn't always reflective of the actual overall situation.

What we observe is necessarily limited ... just by what we are looking at.

My observations - locally - are that people are generally compliant.

That doesn't mean there aren't a crapload of people around here in my area - that I'm not seeing - that are non-compliant with proper mask usage.

Simply a matter of sample size (what we see vs. what we don't)

There is no shortage of stupid in America (meaning people who refuse to mask up and socially distance)

Well I got another bad news call from my sister in Co. yesterday, she is the one who lost a son to a sudden, unexpected heart attack back in Oct.. She found out that her oldest son, who has M.S and is in a care facility in Alamosa,Co, tested positive for covid yesterday. The San Louis Valley part of Co. has been hit real hard and one of the workers was exposed and brought it to work. They have been checking all the patients daily and he came up positive.
I feel so bad for her and her husband as they are both in their 80's with plenty of health problems. They kept him at home for years and then about a year ago my sister was diagnosed with Parkinsons and on top of all her other health issues it just became too much to provide all the care and the help they tried to have come in and give them a hand just didn't work out so they put him in the care facility about a year ago. Now my sister is blaming herself for not keeping him at home. Very sad situation, and prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Prayers for all Jim. My SIL who just passed had severe MS. It was hard on my brother to care for her.

Prayers sent for your sister and her family Jim. A lot to deal with.

Don, you will be amazed how slick that grease makes your saw, like it has teflon in it.

picked up a rake and snow shovel at True Value this morning, hope the latter doesn't get used much, prediction is for warm winter here.

numero uno birdfeeder done, I'll keep this one since I started off not predrilling the screw holes and several small splits resulted. Once I started drilling, no problems.
Very easy to make, not sure I like the exposed screw look but glued and screwed, this little cedar birdhouse should last a long, long time.
Hope to make several more tomorrow, but definitely would be easier with the power mitre saw I have on order

smell of cedar sawdust just delightful
