Sounds like we need a tbn zoom session for thanksgiving, lol. Course hard to work out a timeframe between Eric and David.

My proposal went well at work today. The meeting start time got delayed a couple of times, but we eventually got together. The President and the Plant Manager had to get in their usual bickering about who's to blame for things, but once we got that childishness out of the way, it turned very productive. We'll start implementing the changes after next week, which is essentially re-laying the floor plan for work to flow more efficiently through the shop. A lot of work ahead, but it will be worth it.

I'm mostly just glad everyone in management is finally on the same page. We needed that more than anything.

Sounds good to me, hope the plan increases efficiency.

42 going up to 64- was a nice sunny day for a trip
Went, for the last time, to my current office in Mid-Town.
Clear out the desk for our move to another building.
No traffic, not many tourists out in the usual spot. NY library has huge masks on the lions. Finally took my kid up there last yea to show him the areas they shot Ghostbusters.
Very different city then when I left to work remote in March. Sad to say goodbye to the building people since they are staying behind for the next (hopefully) tenant. Great team.
Will be down town again. I have worked in about a dozen different buildings in NYC during my career so far, but this new one is by where my old one was before 9/11 so a bit emotional every time I go down there. Nice new buildings though and a bizarre train station (the Oculus)

Stay safe and be well. Hopefully will get some outdoors time this weekend. So many projects I want to do.

Why do they switch buildings so often?

43 and clear except a few contrails, which have sure mated and multiplied this week :) ...going to 67.

Ron, prayers for your son. Great crane pic.

BEF, waited until my wife got up to look at that mask youtube...we both laughed a lot.

Ted, glad the freezer was successful.

Mowed/mulched all the leaves, and mowed the lawn and trails of grass stragglers and wild onions. Then cha-chinged the mower, but ran out of time to clean under the deck. Been putting off refilling my diesel jug...don't they switch to a winter blend about now? Will probably refill it next time I go that direction to the dump.

Plan to meet up with my North Carolina son for his birthday...the trail I picked along the James River is closed because of flood damage from the big Nov 12th rain...so will find an alternative. I'm bagging up 5 different coffees to take to him along with stuff my wife bought.

Shaping up to be a nice day.

Happy birthday to your son, enjoy your trip.

Ron, prayers for your son and his in-laws. Prayers for his medical staff to correctly treat him.

My FIL is going in the hospital for a day in 2 weeks to get checked for an ulcer, and to get a colonoscopy too, while he's under. I told him to tell the doctor to clean the scope in between....He said doing the throat first.

Prayers for our country.

41-69 today, 53 now.
I made a big pot of cabbage and potato soup with onions, tomatoes, carrots, ground beef and beef broth. It was so good I thought about having it for breakfast!
Outdoor and indoor cats are fed, doggie is next but she’s sleeping in this morning.

Got a potential buyer coming from NJ this morning to look at FIL’s motor home, so we have to be there, I’ve been handling all the advertising and calls.

I’ve got to put gas in my truck, it’s been 4-5 weeks, it won’t last forever, so I guess I’ll do that today.

Not sure what else I’ll do today.

Don, we have had several outdoor kittens grabbed by owls over the years, and maybe some of the adults that just disappear without a trace.

The only consolation and I say this with tongue in cheek is that the cat is dead before the owl gets any more than about 10' off the ground. Everybody around me in my neighbourhood has lost at least one cat to an owl. That includes me.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 6:15AM. Mostly sunny. High 67F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

How much longer will the cranes hang out, Ron? Seems like they would have migrated by now.

Hope that plan at work goes off without a hitch, Paul!

Hope the rain gauges continue to agree, Don. And thinks for the wax tip. My north door is starting to look a little dull, and now it's too cold for another coat of polyurethane.

The trim looks nice, David. My front door is trimmed the same way.

Good luck with the office move, Ken. Never forget 911...

Funny doorbell story, DF. No neighbors close enough for that to happen here, though. Made a post to the Ubiquiti forum about it, so maybe get some help. I do like the way the Unifi doorbell lights up the door handle when someone approaches, as it made putting the key in the lock a lot easier when I got home at dark last night.

People speaking through masks and behind plexiglass barriers are even harder to hear, and I'm asking folks to repeat themselves now more than ever...

Both the county sheriff and city chief of police announced yesterday that they won't be enforcing the governor's curfew order. Both said they have no legal standing for enforcing it, and that their officers have more important things to do. That said, I won't be traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday. I'd love to help my buddy out, but it's just not worth the risk with the virus cases taking off like they are now. The order also included a two week self quarantine when traveling out of state, not something I'd want to be forced into, either.

Uneventful ride north for the solar panels and mounting parts; that's what I'll focus on for the next few days. All 20 panels on the rack now have to be moved to make room for the four new panels, but I'm hoping my thoughts for moving five at a time pan out. :crossfingers:

Almost forgot to mention a pretty good video about some tools for helping fish network wires through the walls. I've done enough of it to know it's not always easy, and the magnet tool he demonstrates makes it pretty much a sure thing.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

Thanks, I'll tell him.
Powhatan State Park, across the river from Goochland.

Is that to bypass Richmond, or do you take backroads all the way down?

Rumor has it a wife’s relative settle on selling their house Tuesday in Durham, and they have bought a travel trailer to live in. She only talks to us when they want something, they haven’t spoken a word of this to us. Rumor is they are gonna crash at her mom’s house for the winter.

She hasn’t worked in years, since she “broke” her back. She says broke, but it hasn’t stopped her from doing anything else, but work. Feel sorry for her husband, a nice guy who is being used.

Overcast 54° day.

Cleaned a little in basement, which means rearranged stuff from one place to another. Did clean up a couple petrified cat pukes I discovered. Turned on air filter down there.
Found some old stuff from work from around 2002, 3 companies and many projects ago. Wonder if I still need that?

Prayers for all.

Don, Interesting on the door wax. I have always used Johnson paste wax on wood products.
My front door finish is really getting bad. It faces north, so not from sun. Don’t know why I didn’t think to wax it.

Well I got another bad news call from my sister in Co. yesterday, she is the one who lost a son to a sudden, unexpected heart attack back in Oct.. She found out that her oldest son, who has M.S and is in a care facility in Alamosa,Co, tested positive for covid yesterday. The San Louis Valley part of Co. has been hit real hard and one of the workers was exposed and brought it to work. They have been checking all the patients daily and he came up positive.
I feel so bad for her and her husband as they are both in their 80's with plenty of health problems. They kept him at home for years and then about a year ago my sister was diagnosed with Parkinsons and on top of all her other health issues it just became too much to provide all the care and the help they tried to have come in and give them a hand just didn't work out so they put him in the care facility about a year ago. Now my sister is blaming herself for not keeping him at home. Very sad situation, and prayers would be greatly appreciated.

46F and cloudy @ 10:30, headed up to a high of 49F for the day.

No specific plans for the day, but certainly no shortage of things to do ...

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Saturday ...

Good morning to all! Low of 37, going up to 68 today. Another front will move across, dropping temps down a little lower.... not arctic cold front, so won't be bad. Now, maybe a slight chance of some precip.

Ron, prayers out for your son, hope they are able to help him soon!

Jim, prayers for your sister and her family... it has to be tough for her!

Wng, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you son... enjoy the day with him!

I was able to accomplish a lot in the shop, today I will start to stain a bunch of pieces before assembly. I usually don't do it first, but this project design has a lot of nooks and crannies that could create some runs and drips..... pics to follow....

David, the doors and window trim look good! Is the place getting close to move-in ready? I haven't booked my ticket yet.....:D

I need to get a move on... before working in the shop, I need to cut down the box that the new freezer came in and make it to fit the old little freezer. Then get some help from the sons to move it up in the shop's storage loft.

Everyone have a great day!
