WNG, that is a chipmunk, not Alvin though.

33 early, 45 later and breezy, I fear this is another day of working inside. I’ve got reinforce a particle board shelf in the pantry, I’ll use a 2x4 for that job. It was OK until Ellen started stocking up like a prepper! One more can of peas and it’s going to collapse.

Well I’m headed out to get blood work done this morning.

Take care, God bless.

Good Morning
31 and clear today, forecast high in low 40’s.

Trip to NH was uneventful, weather there was just like PA. High overcast breezy and cold.

Got an email with the tracking number for the hydraulic tilt cylinder that I ordered from Fit Rite back in April. Brian is on the west coast, so it won’t be here until Monday.

I use Makita 18v cordless tools, and have quite a few of them by now, I was needing some new batteries as some of mine were close to ten years old and 3 AH. On any other TBN thread, someone posted a deal on a Makita chainsaw with 4 5AH batteries and a dual charger for what the batteries would typically cost. So now I’m waiting for another early Christmas present to myself to be delivered.

Today I’ll pickup my wife’s car from inspection and leave mine, then back to cleaning the shop.

40F here, and green tomatoes are still on the vine. I brought in my daughter's mango tree in a pot. We are hoping/praying for some rain on Sunday. Eric, we could use some of that rain. Just like last year at this time, we were at the southern most edge of the front that caused all the storms the guys were talking about a few days back. It was very windy, and we could see just the southern edge/beginnings of clouds forming. Only to get stronger and stronger as they moved northeast. Prayers for those in Nicaragua. There's even a chance for a 3rd storm to develop.

Bird, prayers for Margaret.

Prayers for Ron and his meds, Ron's son, Buppies, our country, and those who are sick.

My oldest daughter got up early this AM and must've taken an hour hot water power shower....water heater hasn't recovered yet.

RNG, glad you had a good trip and safe return.

Don, sorry about your neighborhood.

The news is all about the Covid spike....and the election. I talked with a college student at work last Thursday in my office, he informed me he tested positive on Monday. We had masks on...but, still worried. Our schools are still having in person school, along with at home. My kids are still attending.

My wifey just brought me some coffee, yummm.

Mostly, hope you get your energy back. I'm sure those bike rides zap you, as planned.

Y'all have a great day.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 5:15AM. Rain, heavy at times early. High near 60F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a quarter of an inch.
Picked up 0.67" of rain yesterday, the first since June. Long, steady drizzle, no spitting involved. More of the same today, but with less accumulation, then no more rain for at least another 10 days. Too bad, we really need it. High winds preceded the storm front as it crossed the Sierras, and several fires started and spread rapidly in the US395 corridor yesterday.

The rainy weather also kicked solar energy production in the pants, dropping from 35 kWhr to 1.8. On days like that I put off doing laundry and working in the shop to keep grid purchases to a minimum. Didn't let it stop me from spending a few bux cooking up an Instant Pot full of rice'n'beans, though.:licking:

CoVid-19 cases are up a little bit in the county over the past two weeks, and now the governor has placed us in the most restrictive category again, closing many businesses that were just starting to make a come back. Our representatives in the state legislature are rebelling, saying that these decisions should be made at the county level, as county health officials are better informed than those at the state level. I think they're right, but will still minimize my trips to town. I'll also be taking my temperature every day, just in case I picked up something on the trip.

Never heard back on the trouble ticket I logged last week with T-Mobile for slow internet speed, so called them again yesterday. Another fifteen minutes on hold before I got through, and was told the ticket went to the wrong division, so another was started. The tech wasn't hopeful they'd find anything, as the towers are just too far away and somewhat blocked by the canyon rim. I have a line on another provider that resells AT&T LTE, which I've been told is stronger in this area, so I may give that a try if the new trouble ticket doesn't turn up any improvement.

Back on the satellite internet side, the service went out the first day of my trip, which meant I couldn't access any of the home automation services or security cameras to check on the place, and also lost a week's worth of weather data. Power cycling the modem fixed things, and that problem seems to be getting more frequent. I started work on a way to monitor the connection, and automatically power cycle the modem if it goes down, and should have something working today.

Also got caught up here, oh my you folks have been busy!

Happy Hump Day!

We appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. In spite of what the doctor, who was supposed to do the cataract surgery, said, Margaret has insisted that she didn't feel any worse than usual. Her oxygen level can fluctuate over a pretty wide range. When she's up and moving around, as when she just got up a few minutes ago, the level can go down to 80 or less, but when she sits down and puts the oxygen back on, it goes up pretty rapidly into the 90s.

Nah...the dog and I both go out at night...I just pee off the back deck...just gotta be aware of which way the wind is blowing...
I tried peeing off the back deck when potty training the shepherd and getting up with her in the middle of the night.

She was more interested in the stream I was making Nothing like having to dance around in a circle to avoid the dog.

Good morning to all! Low of 35 going up to 70 today... almost like David's warm weather, but no rain. Saw a couple of flowers that bloomed in the landscaping beds.... just single flowers on larger plants.... true meaning of "late bloomer" for sure!

Went to Walmart yesterday, first time through this whole pandemic, there was a line to go in... They were limiting only 60 people in the store at a time. It was kinda nice to do the shopping with barely coming into contact with anybody. Of course, paper goods were almost empty, lots of other stock very low. I found out why Walmart has been low on stock.... the regional distribution center had an outbreak of covid, 20 employees there were tested positive. Truckers are waiting up to 24 hours before they can get unloaded... a big snag in the system.

Bird, glad to hear that Margaret is feeling ok. Does she use portable O2? Maybe next time she can take some with her before the appointment?

Not sure what I will get into today, probably clean / organize the shop.... It has gotten into a little bit of disarray with all of the woodworking, not as bad as RS shop, I can still see the benches, but I don't want it to get out of hand....

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning all, 23 going up to 39 and cloudy- dog loves the cold, me a bit less

Another Ash fell in the woods, we didn't hear it over the wind, Now looks like a 20 foot tall toothpick where it split.

Drew - Never been to Manoff, will have to see what they got, we go to Terhune for cider, and my wife loves their cider donuts? I go to King's Indian head for our tree, like the family and price is better than most around here.
Bird - our thoughts are with you but get the Mrs.to the ER, anything below 80 would seem like and emergency to me.
TXDon - most stores around here have a one package limit on at least paper towels
Randy, hope the tests come back good
Popg - NH -that's a pretty long day trip from here!

I am about 600 feet from the road, but during winter the cover is not thick enough for me to be out in public taking a whiz.

Stay safe and be well
