Good morning!!!!

This has not been a good day. I got Margaret to the day surgery place just after 7 a.m. (7:15 a.m. appointment) to have cataract surgery on her left eye. Got the paperwork done, sat and waited a relatively short time, then a nurse took her back about 7:45 a.m. and I could not go back with her. Then the lady greeting folks coming in told me I might as well go home and they’d call me when she was ready, but “it’ll be a couple of hours.” So I went home and in about 15 minutes, the nurse called to tell me that they had cancelled her surgery because her oxygen level was too low, so I went and got her.

They said her oxygen level was 80, but here at home I checked it and it was only 75. My own oxygen lever was 96, according to our own little instrument.
Now Margaret has an appointment with her pulmonary doctor the 10th of next month, but the eye surgeon told her she needed to see him sooner. So I called and his nurse assured me that he is booked solid; not a single opening before her appointment on the 10th of next month.

Margaret frequently (daily or several times a day) complains about being cold. Her hands and feet always feel cold, even though the home thermostat is set on 76. So I’m not sure what the next step might be. She says she feels just fine, as long as she’s not really active.

PJ, oooo...Newark... bad, bad memories.... A rough area today for sure! The southern part of NJ was a much nicer area of farmland and suburbia. Not sure what it is like now, I'm sure a lot less farms.

While it wasn't the most pleasant of views (I equated it to being like East St. Louis with an airport and a brewery), I had no problems while I was there.
Well, actually, I had two minor problems. One, I was invited by the head of the organ department at The Juilliard School to come over for a visit while I was in the area, but couldn't squeeze it into my schedule to get over into NYC and still get back in time to make my flight back home. Two, my flight back home got canceled by severe weather moving through Indiana and Ohio, which delayed the inbound flight. So, I got stuck there for another night. The hotel was kind enough to get me back into the same room for another night, and the room service pizza was very good. Of course, the real kicker was that I actually would have had time for a visit to Juilliard. :(

Sophie grabbed this sunrise shot (says because I miss them)

She also reminded me that I likely won’t get anything done later as I usually don’t after I get my eyes dilated. Oh well.

Hey All! I'm updating pictures so I can update my remodel thread. It is moving slower than I'd like, but such is life. I did get my driveway paved.

I'm having a heck of a time with Leaves, can anyone point me to a killer thread on managing leaves? I do live inside the edge of ~15 acres of Hardwood trees... LOL.

Be well all,
David

David/MFW simply needs to put the leaves on Bill's new conveyor and convey them to his neighbor.

because it's going to be so cold tomorrow morning took the trash out early this afternoon. Lot of it, lot of woodworking cardboard shipping boxes I tried to hide
the contents of which, no sense putting out "new stuff: come steal me" invite.

nurse calls and says she faxed scrip for my adrenal tests to infusion lab. Infusion lab says never got it.
I bet she faxed it to wrong fax number. Once I get that straightened out, time for a nap

I hear chainsaws work well. LOL.

There's always a couple funny guys... LOL Both made me chuckle...

RipTides, I actually brought one of my loggers out to discuss "thinning the hardwoods" and it was not economically feasible. I would have had him drop at least 5 in the front yard...

Be well all,
David

The critical level is 88. Did you tell her Dr. her O2 level? Next step maybe ER?

I'm having a heck of a time with Leaves

David, I have a John Deere 425 lawn and garden tractor. When The leaves get heavy I put on the cart bagger. It holds something like 20 bushels. I have gator blades on the deck normally which chop the leaves a little finer than the stock JD blades. The gator blades however kick out quite a few leaves so I usually switch over to the stock JD blades in the fall to make the lawn look nicer. There is a blower that fits on the discharge end of the deck and picks up the leaves from the deck and blows them up and back to the cart. There are vacuum trailers that you can get that hold a lot more. My compost pile is over a small hill so back up to the hill and dump the leaves. I can mine the compost from the bottom of the pile when I need it.
