Down to 35° with 20 mph winds. Was surprised how cold it was when leaving work.
Took hr to get caught up on GM.

More nice pics, nice bike ride.
Bird, hope wife gets better.

Dad got a price of $2500 to have one dead ash tree cut in his yard. I told him don’t park under it and let winter bring it down.

Time is flying by.

Good evening all. 37F for the start, clear sky, calm wind. Light wind, moderate gusts, sky stayed mostly clear and high temp was 72F. Slow start did not get on the bike till noon. after lunch took a nap too tired to fish. Wife made a delicious cassoulet for dinner.
No gopher activity today. Think it is a different gopher as current behavior is different than last one.
Covid update: Cooke 665 confirmed cases, 38 active cases, Montague 433 confirmed cases, 47 active cases, Grayson 3547 confirmed cases, 321 active cases.

David hope Dr appt goes well, and you get some time to get trim the way you want it.
Mike had that happen at last house, and the soil was known for poor perc characteristics. Tried some RidX and that worked for us.

Good eye appnt, slight vision change but will go back in Feb for new prescription. New eye insurance kicks in Jan.

Refilled all the empty gas cans, 22 gallons. All E0.

Came home to find out the water heater at cottage was not working. Of course with the dilation I was out of commission. Thankfully my tenant John took the initiative to troubleshoot, even talking extensively with the manufacturer reps, performing their diagnostics. Potential fix work cost almost half the cost of replacement with no guaranty. Not a great gamble on 15 yo equipment.

Found updated replacement at local plumbing supply and Sophie offered to drive me back to town to get.

Eyes close to recovered by time we got back home about 5. Eye tech had told me 8 hr recovery from dilation was common and seems to match my history. Sophie seems to recover much more quickly. But she is supportive of me 🤙

22 right now...high right about 30...my kind of weather! Needs some snow though.

Most of Vermont is officially under drought conditions: Despite a Rainy Week, State Still Grappling with Drought: Crowd-Sourcing Tool Helps Public Report Water Shortages | Agency of Natural Resources.
Having a well and living with 2 women can be problematic...I take "Navy Showers" so my water usage is pretty low. I'm going to have to caution the women to minimize water use...such as not washing one single item instead of a whole load...and not flushing every time they urinate (I'll pee outside, if necessary)
We (wife and I) lived with a bad well in PA...really sucks when the water goes off until the well recharges (normally a few hours up to several hours). We did put another well in shortly before we sold the house and moved here
We have had a pretty wet Fall and we need a solid winter with plenty of snow...but I'm not sure that's going to happen this winter

Interesting little video

Good morning all

28 now high around 32 and sunny with 10 to 15 mph winds today.

Grocery order pick up went as I expected yesterday no paper goods available. Not sure of the attraction of hoarding TP and paper towels.

Did some shed cleaning yesterday for a dump run today. All the stuff that was to good to throw away seems to have transformed into why did I save this?Must be an age thing. In a few months I’ll spend a day looking for something I know I have at least 1 of!

Roy- I do not really like going into winter with this drought hanging over us. My area has been down graded from extreme to severe with not much expected for relief anytime soon.

Stay safe and healthy
Enjoy your day everyone

good morning all.
heater humming to keep me warm, which it does easily, small house to heat, about 29 outside,
only going up to 43 today in sunshine, and down to 23 tonight. Brrrrrr. Time to get out the heavy coat.

Prayers for Margaret and Bird this morning, hope things look better there.
And hope David's eyes are fine this morning so he can focus on hot water heater repair more easily.

Roy, I never knew a turtle could move that fast.

Off to local farm orchard this morning to shop for gifties to take to my brother's family over thanksgiving, farm makes a lot of home made jams and jellies.
Then after lunch headed downtown (all of 12 minutes to get there) to tag agency where my title finally came back and now I can get my car registered and tagged
in PA.

got my solar powered Christmas lights in, will wait until next weekend to put them up. And get a tree at a different local farm.
There are three Christmas tree farms within a few miles of here, lots of choices, though some are very pricey. I've read that Charley Brown
trees are back in style, not sure why.

Good morning all. With so many dull wet days, when a good one comes along like yesterday, it is nice to catch up a little while staying dry.

I decided I could spare an hour to finally bolt down the supports for that octagonal water tank cover before winter gales come along. Hadn't expected such a simple job to give so much exercise in the process, I lost count of how many times I had to walk back to the workshop, such as extra extra trips for smaller diameter plugs, then back for longer bolts, then back again for larger washers ... Took twice as long as I expected, although on the upside my consistently poor planning saves a fortune on gym membership. :)

Bird, sorry to hear about Margaret, hope they can see her sooner.
My MIL used to suffer from Raynaud's, she eventually got relief from gloves with electric heating wires. She would have loved one of RNG's heated biker jackets

Roy, never thought before you said what it is like to live with a bad well.
Night time water saving sounds a challenge - waking up half asleep and forgetting to open the window first

19F with 10 mph wind might reach 30F for high....should make ice still water areas.

E muffin :licking: than outside to do chores.
Plans for today...Wife handed me errands list so it's off to town around 9am,other than that take day as it comes.

Enjoy the day all.
